This is from a soundcheck before one of their concerts during the NJ Syndicate Tour. The picture was taken in 1986 in Japan. Enjoy!
This song should have been a number one hit, it’s the best work they have done! This is my all time favorite! It never got any recognition, this whole album was overlooked. Too bad.
I agree!!!!! Maybe it was lacking in lyrics. What I mean is, maybe it just didn't connect enough with people lyrically. But I agree, it's an awesome song.
Amazing song and TREASURE!!
7800 Farenheight is a very underrated album. I know the record is Dead to Jon but its one of my favorites from the whole catalogue. Farenheight Slippery and New Jersey are my top 3
Same here, pretty much always was in love with that album. :D
God I love this song. Especially performed live. Jon changes the melody a little - Games we play, Words we say - which works brilliantly.
Dave was such a massive part of those early records. Him and Richie complemented each other very well. You barely hear his keyboards on the later albums.
I'll be listening to this for the rest of today. Thanks.
he is brilliant of adding variations of their songs.
I differ when people refer to this song as a mid tempo tune. In fact, this is a straight hard rock/heavy metal tune...in the Bon Jovi signature style of the 80's.
Such an underrated song, but the more and more I listen to it, it was a real banger! One of my all time favorites!
This is amazing! Thanks
1:59 - 2:01 that "senseless fight is all you do" the way jon sang it kinda proves it was 88/89 he didnt do that as often pre NJ tour since he didnt have a technic
Teclado de David Bryan tá top.
E o Baixo do Alec também!
Richie Sambora is a guitar genious
I haven’t heard this in so long!! Thankyou
I love hearing demos and soundcheck versions! This is a great one ^^ Thx for sharing!
I MISSED....what a longing I WAS!!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR...!❤
The biggest band 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏
I' M CRYing...for JOY...
THANKS FOR YOUR SOUL!😇👏❣
Wow, that was amazing. Thank you. If that song had been on SWW or NJ it would have been so much better.
It was played once during the NJ Tour, unfortunately there is no recording of that night so we can only imagine what it would have sounded like full power with the crowd. Must have been killer!
@@FighterBJ On this version RS is playing the melody on the main riff. When they played it in Hawaii (2010 or 11) he just played the bar chord. This is just such a full bodied version of the song.
December 30th 1989 in Birmingham UK they played it. I went to the show December 5th 1988 in Birmingham. Missed by a year or so.
@@benjaminharriesPR I asked 3 fans who attended that 1989 NEC show and they all recalled both Only Lonely and Silent Night, must have been an amazing concert. I also have a recording of Dec 5th 1988 in my collection, sadly in subpar quality. That one was killer as well!!
@@FighterBJ I'd love to hear that. Took me a few years to realize how Jon appeared at the start of the concert. The NEC was a mess of sweat and noise. Beatles like. Tough to even hear the first 3 songs.
Love this song love you Jon bon. Jovi. Your my only. Lonely forever baby love you. Baby. ❤️❤️💋💋
is there a full concert to this concert?
Only this track was released so far but the band has the full soundcheck in the vaults. Unlikely we'll ever hear it :/
The best performance of this song EVER
Una autentica maravilla!!!!
Sounds like 90's jon.
Totally agree, doesn't sound like jon's 80's voice.
It's his "rehearsal" voice, he doesn't sing with full power here. :)
@@FighterBJ no, he does sing with full power, he even uses rasp here which requires full power. Its his 90's voice
@@Queretonix In a radio interview with Obie in 2010 he talked about restoring some damaged tapes and this being one of them; He didn't say the exact date but mentioned it was a soundcheck in 1986.
"This place blows"
"You want the PA on?! Will it hurt?"
I don't know... I'd even dare to say that it's from the year 2000. The reason? Jon's voice is not as high-pitched as in the 80's-90's, and because of the way his voice claws, it's not from 2010 either, since from 2002-2003 his voice becomes very nasal and he very rarely cracked his throat, so I say It's like from the year 2000.
This is definitely from NJ Tour rehearsals - they played it once on that tour.
@@FighterBJ It could be, I didn't know that they had played it live during the New Jersey tour, anyway, I appreciate so much your contribution. 👍🏻👌🏻🤘🏻
@@patricio1846 Thanks! :)
