The 2006 Yankees. The sox & angels both missed the playoffs, they looked like a sure thing going into the postseason with a bunch teams that didn’t really have any October experience. That loss to Detroit is still a head-scratcher. But 2004 is an unforgivable scar that will NEVER heal.
Starting making a list with 08 Giants and 04 Yankees then got too sick to finish it
Don really should have lumped the 2002-2006 Yankees into one. 04 was the crowning jewel obviously.
2003 Yankees should be on that list they made the World Series that year lost to the marlins and then blew a 3-0 lead in the alcs the following year

How could Alex have had better '05 and '07 seasons? He won the MVP in both those seasons! What would have changed if the Yanks had not blown the series in '04? Would Alex have won tow Triple Crowns?
In the regular season he was good, but on the playoffs 05 06 and 07 he hit absolutely abysmally. I think In 05 he hit less than .100 AVG in 5 games
Had they won in 04, the pressure to perform in the playoffs would have been laxed and perhaps Arod wouldn’t have been so yippy at the plate
@@piggisattk However, if not for his home run of Hamels in '09, the Yanks might have lost to the Phillies. That home run was similar to Leyritz' shot off Wohlers in '96.
Postseason A-Rod was a bum, that’s what really matters.
@@REVOFEV792 If not for Alex's HR in 2009, the Yanks lose to the Phillies. It's akin to Leyritz' HR in 1996 of Wholers.

Thought about that but I will say the 2019 Yankees we had good offense but the bullpen was bang up
the 2006 mets were the biggest disappointment, they were the best team in the majors, had the best record by like 10 games, and lost to a vastly less talented cardinals team, they wouldve smoked the tigers in the world series
Yanks and Mets had the same record that season. Mets didn't have the best record by like 10 games

2019 New York Yankees would’ve made the list Boston missed the playoffs that year they could’ve made the World Series and won it and also they ended the 2010s not making the World Series

But they only won the wild card, the expectations weren’t really super high
