Great follow through on discovery with all the twists and turns to get to the final story...yes the past can haunt you into poor decisions in the future.
Fred Gwynne already had cancer in this movie. He looked really bad with dark circles around his eyes and preaged skin. He died three years later at age 66 of pancreatic cancer due to his smoking addiction.
I like Crenna, but he always sounds like a cartoon character to me for some reason. His delivery is often "silly" with its abrupt little hesitations and sudden, repeated deep breaths and his voice can go quite high when it doesn't go all "Daffy Duck." He's often robotic and I think those "extras" are meant to add realism to a generally poor performance. I thought he was perfect for the role in "Body Heat," however, as all he had to do was act rich, snobby and frequently away on business.
Any movie with Richard Crenna is always worth watching. He never disappoints!
I agree
So true

Sad. Mr. Gwynne was a very talented actor.
i know people who have died prematurely of pancreatic cancer who never smoked a day in their lives.
@@helenlauer9545 My mum and two of my friends and they never smoked
@@skygazer6898 My Mom started smoking than finally quit in 2007 which I'm proud of her for I am glad
Who did he play in here
Very enjoyable movie. Richard Crenna came a long way from Walter Denton. I loved him in "Slattery's People" and "The Sand Pebbles".
I remember Richard Crenna from radio in late 1940 in Our Miss Brooks.

He just seems *incredibly handsome* to me
Crenna was Crenna, and he acted in his own fashion. I liked him a lot, and so do a lot of others . You are entitled to your opinion, though.
