- Final 30 seconds of Game 7. ON THE ROAD. “I told coach ‘flatten it out and I’ll get us a bucket’”
CJ McCollum. The Most Improved Player in 2016. In 2012, he led the 15th seeded Lehigh Mountain Hawks over the 2 seed Duke Blue Devils. He continues to be, as Zach Lowe once called him, “the NBA’s Dean Malenko: a man of 1,000 moves. Some guys have a magic crossover, in-and-out dribble, hesitation move or up-and-under around the rim. McCollum has all those at expert level, and he’s uses them to unleash hell from everywhere.” That was in 2016. Since then, he only went ahead and dropped 30 points in the 2019 conference semifinals to force a game 7. CJ then went on to set a Blazers game 7 franchise record 37 points, and 9 rebounds. Not to mention making the BIGGEST play of the night in a major league CHASEDOWN block. Essentially, Mr. McCollum was called upon time and time again to make big plays, and he delivered. If he wasn’t burdened with the likes of MVPs James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, and perennial all-NBA selections Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson in his conference, he likely would have made an All-Star team already.
What I have here for you is a video of a season that’s already come and gone (the 2017-18 season). This is a video of what he does to get JUST enough separation to get a shot off. In CJ’s case, separation might not be “separation” as we interpret it. He doesn’t need as much space as mere mortals do. He shifts and stuns and stops and starts and twists and turns to get all the room he needs. If you give him a second to breath, he’s giving you buckets. Sometimes when the feeling is right, he’ll decimate defenders by dancing on ‘em, and there’s not a damn things very many people can do.

Here’s the article where Zach Lowe wrote those things about CJ that I was referencing: espn.go.com/nba...

One of the most underrated player in the league.
No doubt...
An absolute stud of a player. Great video showing his nifty tricks. He truly stepped up big time in game 7 vs the Nuggets.
Underrated as one of the best ball handlers in the league, he's very deliberate with his dribble, doing that allows him to pick his spots carefully in real time, not usually moving to quick for himself. The very definition of playing with pace.
Anthony Jackson further elaboration on the deliberate with dribble and picking spots. I looooooove how you explain it. Can tell you have a basketball mind 💪🏽
@@James32324 I love the game, I was taught to play like this by my cousin who has basketball training sessions, he always emphasized going quick but never rushing. When you master it it's a thing of beauty and feals so natural, exactly like CJs style of play.
Anthony Jackson beautifully said! I was very quick growing up but this part helped me a lot. Even now! Much respect!
He might have the prettiest game in the NBA. Im a lil bit bias lol, but it's hard to argue.
Dame DOLLA yes! Lol
Most underated gaurd in the league, can basically score at will at every stage of the game, got the mid, the finish, the 3 ball, the handle, the playmaking. He's incredible
CJ “ The Bag” McCollum !! Dude has every move /counter / hesi/ crossover and kind of finish
And add that midrange 🔥 one of the most fun offensive players to watch he’s so versatile if he was 6’6 he’d be a super star
He's taller than lillard I don't know why they're listed as the same height look at the pictures together cj is clearly an inch or two taller
312 City Idk maybe the shoes added him 2 inches
My fav player
Dude is complete offensively.
underrrated af
Cross over is beautiful CJ is a 🌟
7:40 got that thing on a string smh 🔥
*What did he do wit' da' handle????* Lol. That was nasty. Almost like a one handed Shamgod dribble.
Top 5 best handles in the league
KDing me the way he plays
He’s like a real life Ninja 🥷
Top 3 handle in the league with Harden and Kyrie. Great player. BBQ chicken!

BBQ chicken CJ and his PG 🕦 skinny melo Syracuse
So smooth🔥

nice clip
i thought Kyrie got dropped looking at the thumbnail 😭
This guy looks like Scottie Pippen
Smoothest players in the league:
1. PG
2. McCollum
3. Donovan Mitchell
we need a lefty wonder on cj
I'm here after he got traded 😢
CJ was the best on the Blazers in the playoffs. Way better than Lillard.
He is the best during games to keep the team close from losing enough just like how Klay Thompson doesn't get credit for keeping his team close from losing. Dame and Steph closes games so of course people forget who these guys are when it's set and done, that's one reason I don't like the NBA community sometimes because without a decent side kick the hero is nothing.
dribble efficient kyrie?
5:43
so fucking pretty
,,,
Change his position into point guard
