- Actor Nicholas Galitizine and Director Michael Damian sat down with www.theactorsaudience.com to discuss their latest project, High Strung with just debuted in theaters April 8th. Nicholas plays Johnnie a hip hop violinist busking in the New York subway who encounters a classical dancer on scholarship at the Manhattan Conservatory of the Arts. Nicholas starred in The Beat Beneath My Feet with Luke Perry.

Nicholas Dmitrievich Galitzine is a scion of one of the oldest families from the Russian upper aristocracy, those who suffered the most during the revolution and the Communist criminal regime. Nicholas has as ancestors Harold the last King of England from Saxon origin, Vladimir Monomach Grand Duke of Kiev, married to Harold’s daughter. Another of his ancestors is Rurik King of Vikings and founder of a Russian dynasty, which ruled Russia until the XVII Century and the Grand Dukes of Lithuania since the XII Century. His great great grandfather Prince Nicholas Dmitrievich Galitzine was the last Russian President of the Council of Ministers with Tsar Nicholas II, when the February Revolution started. Very few know about his Russian and Social Background, just among the Russian community of émigrés in London and Paris. But Galitzine or Golytsin is indeed one of the oldest princely houses of the Russian Empire. They have more than 1000 years of history.

@@valntyne13 Yeah its true. In Russia they were known as the Golitsyns. After coming to the West fleeing the Reds they westernized it to Galitzines.

Just now seeing this interview but OMG Michael Damian was Danny Romalotti on the Young and the Restless back in the 80s and 90s . He played this really sweet handsome guy who was the romantic object of a few of the women characters on the show and his character was a musician. I remember he had recorded an album that had a chart hitting song too.
