    As a classical vocalist I can tell you that all of that other nonsense comes straight from voice teachers and classical pedagogy that destroys the artistry of many a musician. It’s taken my entire adult life to unlearn that to us bs.

    I soooo love Karen's cello singing! The way it is energetically and musically freeing her up, makes me cry every time I watch it!
    And Kudos to all these highly gifted and brave singers, you are admirable both as young artists and as humans. And Joyce DiDonato's energy work - ha, wow, like always! Thank you all VERY much!

      You are deeply mistaken! What this singer shows is called fraud, when behind worthless words there is vocal incompetence. Listen to this singing and compare it with Didonato’s singing: ua-cam.com/video/D2zhUMcIxqE/v-deo.html Didonato herself sings with a deep, worn-out matte sound, ON THE EXHALETION, WHEN all the sounds are in different positions! This is ignorance!!!

    Comparing to teachers I have in my country, it looks like more effective way of solving singer problems from looking at them as a complex. Like “what you feel?”, “why are u feeling this and that” instead of talking about how your technique is weak and this note and this sound RIGHT HERE should be different. That’s why I adore Joyce. An amazing coach! That’s all. 🫴❤

    Which aria is the countertenor singing?

  • @stella441
    @stella441 11 місяців тому +5

    Really excellent and admirable singers,but I find her teaching style very self focused,showcase-y and destabilising for the singers-the word fake would best describe it. And how she discarded that poor,fantastic counter tenor mid sentence was simply pathetic-and he was the most outstanding of them all,already a real artist ,and not intimidated by her at all-maybe that’s why his session was cut so abruptly 🤔

    • @bellal3167
      @bellal3167 11 місяців тому +10

      Respectfully, I disagree with all but the statement about the singers- they are wonderful. And so is DiDonato. Ultimately, these artists auditioned and went through this process so they could learn from *her*, not a textbook or a coach or a video, but a fellow artist with a unique perspective. Like she says, she’s only helping them realize what they already have in themselves. So she’s winging the teaching gig- she’s a full-time performer! Ultimately, she is offering them her (expansive and valuable) knowledge in a way that amplifies their work and natural talents- that is BROADCASTED to thousands of viewers! I couldn’t think of a better learning experience, for she is not only teaching them, but the audience as well.

    • @FaustinaBordoni

      @@princegolaud6771The best master class teachers don’t fuss over technique. That’s because they understand how individual the process of singing is and the danger of fussing over technique when they haven’t spent enough time with a student to know everything making the student sing a certain way. So instead, they focus more on interpretation and constructing a performance. And that’s what Joyce does.

    • @alinatahir8326
      @alinatahir8326 6 місяців тому +2

      @@princegolaud6771she’s not there to teach them technique, she’s there to help them become better artists and connect with their natural musicality, which she does masterfully.
