What I really dislike about parts of the AC or Ubisoft Community at all: always complaining "Ubisoft never tries something new" but when Ubisoft tries something new "That's not what I bought 15 years ago! Change it back!" I mean yeah, a lot of the changes are often bad, BUT they tried something new, didn't worked, listened to criticism and at least tried to change again

    • @IronsideGeorge

100%! it’s like I say the change to the rpg was necessary, otherwise they’d be saying it’s boring it needs to chance etc.
And now it looks like we’re going to have the best of both worlds with the stealth focused mirage and then massive RPG codename red 🙌

I used to watch the great cinematic trailers and i tried to see each game through walkthroughs but just end up watiching until a 70% of ac 1
But on 2021 i play my first one which was Valhalla and boy how i loved that game it took me 2 years to finally completely 21 dec 2021- nov 28 2023 to just some days ago that i did the last mission of Eivor fiture memories

And i inderstand your point of view
But what im trying to say
(Bought origins and mirage just some days ago)
The thing that i love about this games is the lore
And the story of the creed and the hidden blade
      The order to the templars
I mean im fine with however the gameplay is
While i can see the story for is so interesting
And having different gameplays aswell at different places on time
Its like it gives like a type of character to each game
But im a beginner in this franchise
Even tho i was obsessed by just toutube videos back on 2014-2016
When i was like 12-14 idk
      Or maybe after
I mean for some reason even when they include different stuff or the stuff the game always brings the attention

I have to disagree on AC1. The parkour was as fast as AC2´s. The combat system is probablly the 2nd most realistic in the franchise. It´s just medival sword fight, no fancy moves, no over the top animations and you can´t just expect to win by presing the attack button. You can get countred easily, enemies can break you´re defence, they can dodge you´re attacks and they can deflect you´re attacks. And hand-to-hand is too just a fight, nothing fancy and that makes it good. Also altair can´t swim because Ubi was too lazy to make swimming animations for him.
The missions are repetative but you are an assassin. Master tells you who to kill and you go and kill him. And when it comes to the distance between missions. You have to travel through Kingdom 4 times, when you unlock the city you can fast travel and you have to travel once to kill Robert.
So overall it´s the most assassin like game in the franchise. imo

    • @IronsideGeorge
      @IronsideGeorge  9 місяців тому

All good Mr O! That's a really good point about the combat system too. Honestly whilst it started it all it's imo one of the weakest AC games, but that's to be expected. Appreciate your thoughts!

I felt that Valhalla was the least Assassin feeling game in the franchise, as often fighting was preferable to stealth. My first time getting to a fort in Origins, and carefully making my way through without being spotted was an amazing feeling, and I kept that up into Odyssey. With Valhalla though I felt the stealth to be clunky and a bit tacked on. It was a bit obvious that they wanted to tell this amazing story, but still had to cram it into an Assassin's Creed game. The franchise as a whole could do with spinoff games, make it clear it is the same universe but you could expand on so many aspects with a variety of stories and gameplay styles.
Speaking of Origins, I'm the type of person to explore a map first and get to story later, so I never found a problem with levelling as I just built it up as I went, but I can see how someone only focused on the story would get gated by level.
I found AC3 to be the worst for parkour, as in the cities the streets were so wide you would often have to go down to street level before going back up. I pretty much stayed on the ground throughout the entire time. This problem was also a bit present in AC4. The parkour in AC1 can be quite good if you know what you are doing, but the game never tells you how so I think the majority of people never learned how to take advantage of it, myself included.
And you are spot on with Syndicate, it suffered from the buggy launch of Unity, and I've read before that a lot of things were scaled back so that it didn't suffer the same fate. It would have been much better if they had focused on fixing them.
Keep up the great work dude, I always look forward to your new videos.

    • @IronsideGeorge
      @IronsideGeorge  8 місяців тому +2

Really appreciate all your comments dude, mostly agreeing with all of it. I actually thought the stealth was better in Valhalla in Odyssey, but there was less reason to use it. I started playing Valhalla a few days ago and I'm loving it, I really like the combat system and the side missions; I liked Origins too but it kinda bored me for the same thing you said: a lot of grinding levels just to go to another area. In Valhalla you can go 20 levels below the recommended and it's not that punishing, and you can even use the default armor and weapons for the whole game (with some upgrades, of course).

    My opinions:
-Assassin's Creed 1:too reperitive and chunky animation
    -Ac2:combat system still not good
    -acbrotherhood:small map
-acrevelation:not too much contenta compared to ac2 and Brotherhood
    -ac3:naval Missions
    -ac4:too many naval Battles
    -acrogue:too similar to black flag
-acunity:sometimes it doesn't respond well to your commands
    -acsyndicate:downgraded parkour,stealth and combat system
    -acorigins:too much grind
-odissey:stealth too easy once you create and armour with 100%crit chance and over 600% crit damage, but impossible when using a weaker armour, also barely 0 parkour
-Valhalla:too unfocused on ISU things, and when it does,it looks more like God of war than Assassin's Creed, worst stealth of the series,0 parkour and ugly ass map.

I actually decided to play through Rogue before Black Flag and was surprised by how short it was. I can also safely say, now that I'm playing through Black Flag it kind of prepared me alot because Black Flag is alot harder (primarily because of the trailing missions), so it didn't take me long to start taking down brigs early game despite naval combat feeling like there are more obstacles and buttons being different from Rogue.

I'm confused about something - you say in Origins you hated the xp grind, but then didn't like the level scaling? The cool thing about level scaling is that you can go anywhere at anytime and not get obliterated. I just started Valhalla and at power 21 walked into a power 160 monastery (whoops) and it wasn't until after I scrolled over the map did I realize my mistake.
Without level scaling, the game becomes somewhat linear, funnelling you into certain areas.

For AC2 i would say the combat and certain side missions especially ones near the end felt like ass and made me happy later games gave characters the ability to crouch. I'm in the middle of valhalla now lvl 160 and the game angers me so bad that it's almost impossible to play with fun. Stealth is how I play as a hunter class backed up with combat to move quicker along but the games mechanics suck as to climbing sucks and hiding in a bush pointing your bow gets you found instantly. If the next game is trash ill stop playing. But odyssey and black flag hands down best games personally in franchise

    • @IronsideGeorge

Aaa that’s a shame, I actually think the stealth mechanics are better in Valhalla than Origins and Odyssey. You could use a predator bow to take out from further away and risk being spotted? You can also shoot from hay barrels too, worth knowing. You can’t shoot from a bush without you popping up briefly, you either do it when they’re not looking or super quick. ✌️

  • @ConnorWiederich-hr4zu
    @ConnorWiederich-hr4zu 9 місяців тому +3

5 things I dislike or hate about each assassins creed game (I know this is a lot but I still enjoy each of these games):
AC 1-Missions are repetitive, too many flags to find with no reward and no map, beggars are too annoying, the constant warning noise of the detection system, and forced to listen to the dialogue from your skills trainer and civilians you save. Also can't assassinate from hiding places and only a handful of weapons to use.
AC 2-Forced to do 9 assassination missions in Bonfire of the Vanities (worst part of the game for me), enemies take a while to kill unless you use counter kill, can't replay main missions or tomb missions, can't exit the animus freely, and collecting 100 feathers though still not overbearing as AC 1 and later games. Also some of the side missions involve just doing deliveries, races, or beating up cheating lovers, a lot of the assassin contracts involve not being detected, the capture the flag main sequence starts you on a roof top while the flag is on the ground, and the main mission with tailing that one guard with the Apple is really long.
AC Brotherhood-The optional objectives with no checkpoints (worst part of the game and second worst objectives in the series), Lucy's death (wish she stayed on for one or two more games), some tailing missions, only get to free roam in 1 city, and assassin recruits take a while to level up.
AC Revelations-Borrows a lot from Brotherhood due to less development time, combat finishers slow down combat, none of Ezio's family or friends return (wish Claudia at least made an appearance), modern day doesn't continue until the next game with Desmond being in a coma (I know the game was filler for AC 3), and the notoriety system is easier to raise with renovating but harder to lower with no posters and less people to bribe. Also the first person platforming sections for Desmond and in the DLC are long and a headache.
AC 3-Optional objectives (worst in the series with how specific they are), introduces eavesdropping missions, combat becomes easy, Lucy's death isn't touched on much, and Connor isn't too open or nice to people in the main story like he is in the Homestead missions (I know he lost a lot but it would have helped show more development in his character).
AC 4 Black Flag-Tailing missions (I could handle them more if there were less and there were no eavesdropping missions), modern day is in first person and constantly interrupts Edward's story, combat is the easiest in the series, the diving bell sections are too hard (no weapons, too many sharks, and at the lowest health no matter how many upgrades you have), and a lot of the collectibles are on small islands so lots of sailing. Also the main villains aren't really memorable aside from the Sage Roberts.
AC Rogue-Borrows a lot from Black Flag with having less than a year of development, assassins are too evil (I know the Templars in the Ezio Trilogy and in Syndicate are too evil too but they didn't try to poison a city plus the assassins ally with bandits), the modern day is in first person and completely pointless, no side missions to develop Shay's character further, and the colonial setting isn't really that exciting compared to other settings. Also the views of the Templars and the Assassins aren't really explored like in AC 1 and 3.
AC Unity-Arno never goes after Shay for his father's death (I know Unity was being developed before Rogue started but still a missed opportunity for a crossover), the map has way too many chests to the point where you can't see, most of the cast is forgettable, the story is hard to follow, and multiple enemies shoot at you in combat to the point where you have to use smoke bombs and rolling constantly. Also no assassination confession scenes which could have helped develop Arno more (Arno just somehow sees through his targets' memories), the reward for doing all the Paris riddles has no special feature to it like reduced damage (it looks cool but that's it), and there is no whistling to lure enemies but rather cherry bombs.
AC Syndicate-Taking over the districts in London got repetitive (worst part of the game), Jacob and Evie don't get much character exploration or development (Jacob just admits his mistakes after the final boss), story is hard to follow with switching between Jacob and Evie, Jacob gets more missions than Evie, and not much choices for weapons especially compared to Unity. Also the combat can get repetitive and the bonus objectives can be a pain.
AC Origins-Having to carry people out of forts in a lot of missions even though they just stand up after the mission is done, enemies detect you the moment they glimpse you, upgrading the hidden blade just to instant kill enemies is ridiculous, playing the last mission as Aya instead of Bayek is disappointing, and the origins of the assassins isn't explored as much as it should have been. Also the modern day should have been explored more (I know I'm contradicting myself with my judgement of Black Flag's modern day but it felt like there was more of a direct for this one).
AC Odyssey-Having to do 3 of something for over half of the main missions and side missions, both the leveling system and the upgrading ship and gear systems become unfair later on to the point where you are tempted to buy microtransactions (not a problem in Origins or Valhalla for me), game tries to go too much for a comedic tone, your character gets forced into a romance whether you want it or not which goes against choices, and mercenaries always track you and it's easy to raise your notoriety. Also the world is too big, too many camps to clear and side missions to do, can't kill enemies in stealth even if you are the same level, loot system is too much to the point where you have to get rid of some of it at the points, and the choices are mostly pointless plus the romances are all pointless and some are even weird like having the option to kiss the bad guy .
AC Valhalla-Too long in a lot of ways (ex. story length with 18 arcs, river raids, rebel missions in the Siege of Paris DLC, there are 27 mastery challenges, the loading time and time to download the game, fishing and hunting deliveries in Ravensthorpe, killing all the zealots and the Order of the Ancients members, etc.), too bloated (9 different areas, if including the DLCs and the dream worlds, that are each full of wealth, mysteries, artifacts, opals which are in game currency, and small chests. England alone has 16 regions. Not to mention too many tattoo options with the paper chases.), most of the story doesn't focus on Eivor and Sigurd's relationship nor on Eivor's character along with none of the 3 DLCs being tied to the story (more focused on forming alliances and making allies), the choices are still mainly pointless (to be honest I don't like them in this game outside of a handful choices and puzzles like flyting), and Eivor doesn't even become an assassin in the game.
Again all these games have their stand outs especially with the open worlds but they also have their issues.
