Me neither. I’ve made enough mistakes trading stocks to equal any gambling I could do. I’ve done some good too. No need to gamble if you invest unless you have a problem. I like sports too. Doesn’t mean I like to gamble on it.

I was at a casino one night and ran into a guy that l used to go to high school with. He was a pit boss at the casino. He pulled me aside and said, "l'm going to tell you how to double your money." I was thinking l was going to get some kind of insider information. His exact words; "Fold your money in half, put it back in your pocket, and leave."
I know men that gambled their homes and families away and could not stop even after going broke and homeless. It is a horrible disease and has no cure for those who do not want to be cured.

I found it really easy to quit gambling as I lost money. I’m sure others are the same.
I think as a young person we are feeling desperate. The world we are entering is so discouraging when it comes to the cost of living. Paying for. School, a car, a house, and starting a family are all so expensive that I can see gambling as a cheat code for some who just want to feel ahead financially for once.
Don't worry. Joey will bail them out and give them gambling debt forgiveness.

100% is a probability , not an odds. In American odds ------ 1,000,000 is .9999 % That means you'd have to risk 1,000,000 to win $100. Also you would have to win that bet .9999 of the time just to break even.

Around 40 years ago, a radio news piece informed Ohioans that gambling was legalized and would help support the school system. I immediately burst into tears knowing that a citizenry dependent on sin for schools was indeed fallen. It's only gotten worse, hasn't it?

I was born and raised in the US but lived in Eastern Europe for a few years where legalized gambling is a huge industry. We haven't seen the real problem yet. Just wait until the underground loan sharks show up to offer hi-interest loans to these addicts at their lowest point. I've seen mothers and fathers get physically attacked and property stolen because their adult kids owed money.

My domestic partner has a gambling addiction and she lost $18K gambling online during the scam-demic. I kept asking her over and over if she was betting money on the games she was playing and it turned out she was lying to me. She's so messed up with her gambling addiction that she thinks it was no big deal because it was her money so she could just throw it away like that. To have it be so easy to get access to this stuff online is criminal.

I worked in the casinos in Vegas in the 90’s, had seen enough. Hundreds of stories, maybe a handful that were from a good outcome.
Had a roommate that racked up credit cards in the hopes of winning big, don’t know if that ever happened.
They don’t build those fancy places to pay out to winners.
Maybe this is one reason why people don’t have money.
I only do my gambling at the grocery store on food, I still lost on the prices.
I have no issue with legalized gambling. You want to tell people what people can and cannot spend their money on…ridiculous.

I’m amazed at the amount of $$ that people spend on pull tabs while out at restaurants. I’ve seen ordinary people blow $500 on pull tabs.

No one is talking about the enabler in all of this: credit cards. I worked in the credit card industry for 35 years, and I remember how Visa pushed for online gaming in the 1990s. So who do you think pay s the bill for this when cardholders default? You and me.

as an addictive personality... I'd go to Reno once a year, with a friend, with $600 dollars and play until it was all gone... I could be $10,000 dollars up and could not walk away... I wanted to make it $20,000... it's A RUSH... what made me NOT a chronic gambler is it was a once a year adventure... the problem would be is if I could do that on my computer or phone just by logging in 24/7
The part of gambling that's addictive is the feeling right before you win or lose. Actually, it's the dopamine your brain releases when you're in the state of anticipation. Slot Machines today are designed by teams of psychologists to have the maximum effect, and they say it releases the same amount of dopamine as coke or amp het amines. Apparently, playing russian roulette is insanely addictive.

Kilmeade is spot on. People care very little about teams any more, just individual players. It's another nail in the coffin for pro sports, especially baseball where free agency led to rent-a-player and fans of the team form no attachments any more. I know ballpark attendance is doing well in most cities but in areas of the country that don't have a team there is increasingly less interest in pro sports.
As a gambler myself I think there's a huge difference between gambling and gambling responsibly & with a plan... I truly believe if you can't show at least decent discipline or the ability to trust a betting process or even if you're not a good overall money manager... You probably shouldn't gamble you're going to get eaten alive in the betting world... There is responsible ways to gamble safely and in a fun way... And considerate gambling as the next opium epidemic is a very very big reach...

A sign we are in a recession is a increased in gambling. I can tell you this because I worked for casinos 20 years .The get so hooked they lose everything. And computer games will pickup. It's not good.

I am so glad that I have never liked gambling, just not for me.
As I watched sports religiously FOR FREE for years, I will consider myself free of the urge to waste money making the marketers richer than Bezos.. I swore sports off once I realized that it had all reverted to the dollar and obnoxious anti-American demonstrations for America hating screeds from folks who are paid to play a game. Only being priivy to games of snowboarding and soccer also helped immensely.
I was really surprised though, at the fact that the marketers managed to do it without the claims of helping the schools to get it through the moral majorities input.

I agree with the guy who says sports gambling is ruining sports. I literally can’t watch any game on TV if I don’t have money on it. Prop bets are the worst - yes, I’m willing to root against the home team if I can make money 💰 on a stupid bet. And I never forget when some “bum” loses me money. (Oh **** am I addicted?)
