    The hand method to check the general health of animal was really helpful.

      Thanks! I was taught that method when I was a kid and it’s always stuck with me. It’s an easy way to judge overall body condition without overthinking it.

      @@LinessaFarms Thanks for your kind reply and helpful insight. I am raising a sheep, it's 2.5 months old. I bottle fed it for his first month only. After a month I left it open in and he keeps roaming around. Is there anything specific I need to feed her to gain more weight? His sides feels like the back of my fingers.

      Umar Farooq hello. It sounds like your lamb may be a little under weight. In the future, if you are able, consider bottle feeding the lambs for at least 6-8 weeks. With that being said, consider de-worming your lamb and offering him/her 1 pound of good quality feed daily along with at least a couple fists full of good quality hay per day as well. Once you see your lamb is able to eat all of the feed, you can slowly increase feed up to 2 pounds. If you live in a hot environment, make sure the sheep is shorn as excessive heat can slow the sheep’s growth as well.

      @@LinessaFarms Thanks for the info. Alfafa is available 24/7 and I feed him upto 1+ pound of dry feed containing grains daily. I guess it's time to de-worm him. Again Thanks for your insight.

    Hi there!.just curious how do you breed goat that come dappled.os it a Boer / red Kalahari cross? Tnx

    • @LinessaFarms
      @LinessaFarms 2 роки тому

      Hello Jean and thank you for watching our videos and for the question. Original boer goats had a lot more color but were bred for the traditional coloring most people know today (white body, red or black cape/head). Some boers were able to carry the color and as it has become more popular, we have seen the dapples make a come back. If you have no dapple boer goats in your area, your best option is to breed a boer buck on a doe with similar body style and dappling. Once you get some dapple cross breeds, breed them back into a boer again and see what you can do. It’s a long slow process.

    Sir. I have a question.
    What if you feed your animal like the one below?
    Regular feeding + milk ( about 7~9 months )
    Will, it maximizes them?

      We would advise feeding your animals as high amount of protein as you can afford up to 20% protein from birth through weaning. We would advise feeding them “free choice” or as much as they want during this time.

    How many vaccine do we give for sheep sir ?

    • @LinessaFarms
      @LinessaFarms 3 роки тому

      Hello Keo and thank you for watching our videos. Here in the United States our primary vaccinations need to protect against tetanus and clostridium. For people who wish to avoid vaccinations as much as possible, we always advise tetanus vaccinations at bare minimum. In the end, we advise you vaccinate against any common diseases in your area and against any fatal diseases without curative treatment.

    next time you make a video, would you mind not adding music (noise) in the background! And tell the chicken to shut up.

      Thanks for watching our videos. Our newer videos contain no background music. Regarding the chicken, I have limited control but will do my best. Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already. 👍🏻
