- Demonstrate the difference between ORP and dissolved ozone in tap water.
ORP (oxidation reduction potential) is a reasonable method to indirectly measure ozone in water at relatively low dissolved ozone levels. An ORP value can be correlated to a the dissolved ozone value manually, so that an ORP monitor can digitally measure ozone levels in water real-time without the expense or maintenance of a dissolved ozone meter.
At ozone levels above 2 ppm there is not enough change in ORP relative to dissolved ozone to lend any usefulness to the ORP meter.
