    Awesome...I love it! I like that big door - it is easier to get through compared to the little door on mine. Looks like the panel fits good and has less play than my set up. Good to have a simple set up that still lets you use the truck to haul things. Good job on the video and thanks for the shout out!

      Thank you again for the idea. That ua-cam.com/video/n5dXjRhkkxQ/v-deo.html trail ride looks like a lot of fun. Keep em coming. I Tried a stealth camping/fishing video this weekend, the camping went fine but I didn't shoot much footage bc I was going to have the fishing trip and needed the card space. Not a bite all day with live worms, crickets and minnows.

    Great job on that truck bed! Love that wooden wall for A/C and access in and out. Great video! Do you have a trailer to tow your UTV? I would like to see that setup. This is what I want to do. I want to build the truck bed and tow a trailer with a UTV and kayak. Thanks again

      Thank you Tom, I did have a trailer (6.5'x12') to haul the SXS behind but I rarely take the Ranger off of our property and I have a 7'x20' equipment trailer and a 7'x14' dump trailer if I really need to get it somewhere. It was a hard decision to let it go but I wanted to put the money towards the dump trailer. Thanks for supporting the channel.

    I did the same thing but had a strange issue. Have you ever felt terrible after sleeping in there for a few hours? I put a 5000 BTU on my truck using a very similar method. My wife and I were sleeping in there at the lake, plugged into the camp site's electric, so no exhaust or generator. About 3 hours in, I got a horrible headache. So bad, that I had to pack up and leave at 1am. My headache was so bad I could barely get home successfully, it was easily the worst I've ever had. My wife felt mostly fine so we assume it was a fluke. We went out again, this time we were much farther from home so going home wasn't an option. About 2 hours in, we both started getting headaches. We tried opening the windows a little to see if it we werent getting enough fresh air. We opened the windows more and it seemed to make us feel better. But, the hot humid Texas air made it feel freezing inside while the compressor was running and when it turned off, we were miserable from the muggy weather lol. I'm baffled by this issue. I was really excited about this set up since we have jet skis and love to camp at the lake but don't want to sweat to death when its 85 at night lol. Any ideas?

      It could be that the air in your shell isn't circulating properly. It could also be circulating stale air, chemicals, or other allergens from a ventilation system that hasn't been cleaned out properly.
      The noise the air conditioner is producing may be sending out a frequency you are unable to handle. And if you like it really cold, the intense temperature extremes can trigger a migraine. Only other thing I can think of is maybe the A/C exhaust isn't venting properly and is recirculating into the shell. I personally think a unit of this size for such a small space is way overkill. Don't experiment too much with it; it could cost you your life!

    • @georgiaboy6426
      @georgiaboy6426 3 роки тому +2

      I haven’t had that issue. I do tend to crack the back glass entry of the camper though. Have you added any new carpet or glued anything in your truck bed?

    • @ChrisCXK
      @ChrisCXK 3 роки тому +3

      @@georgiaboy6426 it’s still a fairly new camper and it does have carpet on inside. But I have slept in there many nights with no AC in the cooler months and had no headaches. But, the windows were usually always open. I actually contacted Arctic King about it but they weren’t much help. The really odd thing is, I placed that unit in a 10x12 room to cool it while I was working in there. I didn’t think much of it but I almost immediately started getting a headache. It may have been sinus related, I felt it behind my eyes and forehead. Truly bizarre. I didn’t say anything to my wife and asked her to come look at something in there. She barely got in the door way and said “wtf i feel like I can’t breathe in here.” I’m fully willing to admit how completely insane this sounds lol. We’re not finicky people. I do pest control and am around chemicals and odors with zero issues. I don’t get migraines. I’m not high maintenance. I’m just baffled. I think I’ve decided to get rid of the AC unit. It’s been used a whole 3 times now. I did consider the noise frequency thing that @richard F. Stripe mentioned above. Maybe it was made for some Russian assassination and was delivered to the wrong address haha.

    • @georgiaboy6426
      @georgiaboy6426 3 роки тому +1

      @@ChrisCXK That is definitely strange, especially that it also happened in the larger space and almost instantly for the wife. I believe I would try a different AC unit too. @@ChrisCXK Hi there! I’ve had a double lung transplant and a bit familiar with lung issues. Do you know of a pulse/ox or oximeter. It’s the device they place on your finger to check your oxygen level. You can purchase them on-line at CVS etc. Maybe take one with you and check your oxygen levels. Almost sounds like you’re hypoxic. Being hypoxic will gave you a whopper headache. Just a thought. Happy New Year!

    Personally, I don't get it. It's over complicated. Why not just put a fan in the window between your cab and your sleeping area? Turn on the air on high and just idle your truck. You won't hurt anything and it'll be much quieter.

    • @wisdomandthewoods7422
      @wisdomandthewoods7422  3 місяці тому

      Thanks for the comment. I don’t see why that wouldn’t work either. That 7.3 diesel engine is not quiet though. I personally knew a man, his wife and an infant who died in their vehicle from carbon monoxide poisoning in while sleeping with the engine running.
      I am more comfortable with the generator being far away from my sleeping area.
      Thanks again for your feedback.

Ounce of prevention. Thanks for watching. That truck has been in the shop for two months now, I'm about to have to experiment with another style of summer camping. I hope you'll come back and check it out.

      Bahahaha, the generator has 2 purposes: [1] run my AC. [2] when my AC shuts off tactical offense/defense practice... If they could find a way to keep the AC running while they took the truck I may not even notice. Thanks for the laugh and for watching r Bailey.

      YotaGang, yep a ceramic space heater if I have the generator, I also have an older Coleman catalytic propane heater (pre Mr. Heater generation) and a Candlier switched over to burn oil. I have to admit that I'm jealous of the trips Keith Gee goes on. I'm sure he works hard, but he counters that by playing hard and often. Thank you for watching. I am a Yota lover as well by the way, our 1998 4runner has over 460K on it and we still drive it when we go out of state.

      Thanks Joseph, I agree 100%, I have a plastic tote with part of it cut out for breathing room that I sit over the generator in the rain. I have thought that a box lined on the inside with styrofoam board and the opening facing away from the truck may make a good bit of difference. Is something like that what you were thinking?
