The messages given by President Nelson, Elder Bednar and Elder Stevenson really resonated with me because I have been looking forward to the Second Coming of our Saviour for a while-we're living in exciting and historic times! I do also get something uplifting out of each speaker's message at each General Conference. The children singing "Gethsemane" was also so powerful and they looked and sounded like little angels. I, too, am a convert, and it took me a while to understand the church structure/organization, lingo and "culture" but I knew 100% that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's church in our day and I knew that I belonged. People in my ward were very welcoming and loving and they became my extended family. My conversion was met with a lot of adversity from "anti" family members but I knew that I had made the right decision and it didn't deter me from rooting myself in the Saviour's gospel. My knowledge grew line up on line, here a little, there a little and a wonderful part is that I am still learning about Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father and building a relationship with them. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us!
Most members have adopted a pragmatic attitude towards the second coming, based on something President Oaks said a while back 'whether you die or He comes to earth, it is the same." Also based on past examples of even leaders and members more broadly thinking it was nearer than it was (Paul of Tarsus, then members in Joseph's time). So the outpouring of the Holy Ghost being strong is standard. The focus and explicit, direct focus on the Second Coming by many speakers, including the prophet, was new! Even some subliminal things like President Oaks reiterating the commandment to dissipate contention (and the connection to 3 Netphi 11). P.S Counterprotesting Bagpipe guy was there Sunday morning before the meeting. He wasn't there after the meeting. Also ran into a 'comedy/distraction' counterprotestor walking to the Sunday afternoon session that had a 'Wear Your Retainer' sign. 😅
I started watching you at the beginning of my journey back into the church and the covenant path (after 17 years of inactivity). You were a big part of my return. Thank you 🙏
You look differently, you talk differently, you radiate peace and happiness!!! So happy to see you in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, especially after visiting so many churches, you’ve done the research, but most importantly your heart did the most important job, guided you to the truth!
I was at the same session with my family. I’m a lifelong member, but it’s the first time I had ever been. That children’s choir was on another level, and the whole thing was a profound spiritual experience. The protestors kind of make me sad, but they kind of don’t matter in the long run. The work rolls on.
Do you know what the protesters are actually protesting? I bet you don't. I believe in the gospel I still feel the spirit. But I Am sick of how horribly I have been treated. If that's how I feel. I bet the protesters feel the same. You would be surprised how many people have been abused by their fellow members of the church.
You are amazing David! Thanks for sharing your wonderful experiences with us! It is a joy getting to see the precious Gosple enlighten your mind and heart! Good bless you! ❤
@@bobicusrexI'm sorry you've had such a wrestle, my friend! I agree that the protesters do matter and that where they're at in life matters and why they're there matters, and how the way that they're acting relates to things we can seek the compassion of Christ to feel. It's good to wrestle with these things. I believe that it's better to wrestle with these things one-on-one with God then it is to rehearse them with other people. I'm so amazed by Jesus Christ and by the way he responded to the people who couldn't see him for who He was. Keep pressing forward my friend. I'm glad that you still believe. One thing I love that President Nelson is said is that one way that you can recognize the true disciple of Jesus Christ is by how compassionately he or she treats another person. I also love that he has said that whatsoever is lovely praiseworthy or of good report to be said about another person, whether to his face or behind her back, that should be the standard of communication. I know that it's hard to feel the pure grace and pure peace of Christ when members of His church approach the weaknesses of others in unbecoming and insensitive ways. For me personally, I believe that being able to think Celestial in these circumstances is what propels us to remember who Christ is, what he endured, how he was treated, how he responded, and how he continues to respond and love and mercy in my life. You got this my friend. You are seen and heard and valued. God appreciates and made you just the way that you are for the most wonderful purposes. I hope that we get to see each other more and more clearly as we press forward with faith in Jesus Christ. Sorry for the long winded spiel, but your comment touched me. I mourn with you. And I believe with you. Right here right now bud. P.S. My adopted Christian parents always tell me, "We love you, and God loves you more!" - same goes to you
@@heatherrichiesilveira731 had such a wrestle more like have such a wrestle. I have borne this pain for a very long time. Nothing hurts more than being called an adulterer having never been married while watching my ex fiance's mother abuse her. Nothing hurts more than having served in the military and a mission by the age of 22. To be hated and despised for it. Nothing hurts more than having your fiance break up with you the day after mother's day because of that hate. For that day to also be the day before your birthday. Nothing hurts more than preparing hundreds of names for temple work and having many of them bear your ex fiance's last name. Nothing hurts more than being yelled and screamed at for doing exactly what you were told to do. And saving lives. Nothing hurts more than hurting so much inside and not having anyone listen. Nothing hurts more than going to the temple with your wife and being told by the spirit that she's not Danica your ex fiance. Nothing hurts more than being cheated on having your wife describing detail after detail of the affair to you over the phone to a 65 year old man and then the next day her telling you how fun it was to visit the bishop and his family when she wasn't cheating. While you are in Iraq to provide for her. Nothing hurts more than still supporting her and her starting to do it a second time and her asking for a divorce. And I can keep going. But I hope you get the idea. Some people are in extreme pain 🤕.
In all those white clothes the children's choir looked and sounded like the angelic hosts that Glory to God on high and on the earth Peace to all mankind
Please don't try to "fit in" ☺️ Please continue being you and sharing the messages you feel inspired to share. You are here for a reason. We have a lot we can and need to learn from you. ❣️
1000 %. We need to bring who we are, and let the Lord magnify what he planted in us. Sometimes we can’t see where we fit or how we fit until - some time passes and we see it with different eyes. These are precious times .
you are not just some random guy. You are a son of God , Im so glad that you are getting these awesome vibes. God loves you , He loves me , He loves us all. Pray always Brother.
You are not just some random guy. To us, as members, you have a special spirit about you and it is plain to see that the Lord has great plans for you. You make me want to be more active. Thanks and keep up the courage!
Dude, I don't comment on videos much, but I love hearing you talk. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it feels like to me that so many people that I love have chosen to leave the church and even abandon their faith in Christ. And it's fine. They have their reasons. But sometimes it just makes me feel sad that this thing that brings me so much joy doesn't do the same for them. But hearing that there are others such as yourself who are finding value in the what we find at church just brings me hope. I love your well reasoned and honest thoughts on all of this. It really inspires me to be better. Thank you for all you're doing with this channel.
And now Milwaukee is getting a temple! I served my mission to Wisconsin, and I was so excited when Pres. Nelson announced it. I'm so happy for you and for all of the people I worked with while I was there.
I live in Wausau, WI. When I heard President Nelson announced the Milwaukee Wisconsin Temple, you would have thought that the Green Bay Packers just won the Super Bowl.
Hi David, trust me, you fit in. More than fit in. I’ve been a member for 26 years. I’ve only been to 4 temples. You know more about the church history than many members of the church. I’ve never been to Utah (I didn’t feel the need, we have a temple in our area) or any church historic site. I live in US. I hold a temple recommend, serve as a temple worker. I’m happy.
Hi Brother David, I have been a member of the church since 1991, I have learned to play the piano, one year after. My ever calling with the church, was to deal with music. I had an ever ending inspiration about a certain sacred song, that took 21 years of my life to complete it. When I was convinced that it was done, that was last year. I went to the temple to report to God, that the work is done. Then I asked him to search for me and find, then to do with me whatever he would like. While I had an assignment to help the YSA Choir to present come, come ye saints for the music festival for the central Africa Area, the music department loved the work, I was then as soon as possible contacted to be part of the global participants to sing with the Tabernacle choir. Let me assure you that as an African member from Congo DR, I know only one thing. Only God, was able to make it possible, I was found, and was set apart as a member of the Tabernacle choir at the temple square, because this is the Church of the Living Christ that our living prophets and apostles bear record. I felt as if I was in a heavenly dream or manifestation. I was this time, the only one for Africa. You are on the right path.
I was a Baptist and evangelical before and I had a personal revelation YES, a direct personal revelation from God Himself and he showed me that I needed to join His Glorious work of the restoration in the last days. Today, as a lamanite, I understand and even make more sense all of these blessings. Brother, when I saw you about a year ago from the start, I felt that you had a good spirit of humbleness and open ears. Welcome to the new path, brother. Yes, this is real!!
My cute daughter was blessed to participate in the children's choir, and we are so grateful for that! Each rehearsal was so powerful, but when they sang the day of Conference, it did feel like a Heavenly choir! No wonder our beloved Savior has asked us to be like little children! I'm so grateful for your channel and how you are sharing your humble, yet powerful testimony brother! I too love going to the Temple grounds. I instantly feel the Spirit so strongly the moment I touch those dedicated, sacred sites. ❤️
I follow your journey since about a year. I'm impressed with your genuine search of the Truth. Heavenly Father always will answer an honest quest from outside or once inside Jesus Christ's Church on Earth, he's gathering all his sons and daughters, his jewels against the season, the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Jacob chap. 5). As Jesus warned his disciples, Satan and his followers are very active, they want to sift us from the covenant path. This is a joyful path. Continue holding to the Iron rod, hang to the prophets, seers and revelators, till the Savior comes, be filled with the manna and feel always the renewal of the joy as you partake of the fruit of the tree of Life (Lehi's dream). Thanks for being a light for many. Wait with eagerness to be endowed from on High in the Holy Temple. You're no more a stranger, you're one of the House of God!
David, my return to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints this summer was due to many influences and seeming coincidences. Following your journey was one of those influences. It was God speaking through you to me and so many others. Thank you.
Welcome back, Matt! I too got rebaptized-6 years ago after having left the church for some 25+ years. Now serving as an ordinance worker. It’s really good to be back.
Please come back to Utah with your temple recommend in hand and take that same temple tour on the inside. You cannot imagine the joy, light and love you will feel! ❤
You are amazing. I love your natural spirituality. I see God working in your life. At the same time, Satan wants you to fail and give up. Hang in there. Many people are praying for you and cheering for your success. Including your grandfather.
This gentleman is a wonderdul man, his countenance is inspiring as is his humility. I've been a member all my life, and I very much wish I could be more like him
I went to the temple last week for my sealing. Now i feel very happy as i face the future. All my previous fear about life have gone away. My desire to sin has gone away .iam almost living a perfect life like jesus christ and miracle are happen every day and iam crying every day tears of joy. Its as if iam living in zion millennium with jesus christ.
Im so pleased with your Spiritual integrity and your decision on baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I see a change in your countenance Bro David. Congratulations! 🎉 😊. May you enjoy the Blessings of the Spirit as you walk on this journey back to Father in Heaven. He has provided a Savior for us. So much love, so much light. Welcome to the fold, dear Brother.
I was introduced to your channel through my father-in-law. He was a history teacher and loved all kinds of history but especially church history. So he had read your book and then found your youtube channel for your second round of churches. He was so excited when you went to an LDS church. Every Sunday we go visit each of our families for a few hours. From that time on, he would put your episodes on while we were there and tell us, I know he is going to join the church someday. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly on March 25th, so he didn't get to see that happen, but I'm sure he was watching from on high, still cheering you on. I did think of you when they announced the Wisconsin temple, and know the joy when you get a temple announcement in your area. Now you will get that full circle experience of being a tour guide at a temple open house, or maybe helping with the booties, Lol. This past weekend, my husband and I went for a belated anniversary getaway. Because I had watched this and your experience of sitting in front of temples, we decided to do the same. We stopped at several on the way home, including the Orem Temple. Thank you for reminding me not to take being close to temples for granted. I hope you will get more chances to go inside more of them. Thanks for your testimony. Watching your journey has helped with my testimony so much.
Thank you, David, for sharing. You are so loved by the Lord and so many saint's! The Lord will continue to bless and protect you as you continue drawing closer to Him. You belong more than you know because you belong to the Lord and it is His Church. Much love!
Lots of parallels in our conversation story brother. I too decided to follow Jesus Christ after having been a lifelong Protestant. That was decades ago and I’ve have had nothing but a glorious life centered in Christ. I cannot imagine not having the spirit of God with me in the manner that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has shown me. I picked the words “shown me” deliberately, as the LDS tend to teach by example much more than they do by telling, preaching, and then judging. I hope you and your loved ones continue in this glorious journey in the church as I have and as my loved ones have. Keep spreading the gospel. The world needs it now more than ever!!
Youre on the right path. So glad you accepted the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I'm a member of 64 years. Joined as a 15yo. Never regretted my decision.
Seeing your coversion is such a joy to me ! I was baptized1979 @ 16 . It’s means so much to hear you every week ! Keep learning but most of all stay with Jesus thru your trials
...I loved that President Nelson said the reason we are building SOOO many temples is because THE LORD SAID TO...I have been filled with the idea myself for some time now...especially as people against the church essentially, are talking about the money could have been used to feed people, etc...THE LORD SAID TO...that's why...period...nothing more need be said...there is a HIGH purpose for His direction in these, the last days prior to His return to earth, & HE is able "to do His own work," as stated in scripture....I am so thankful to have been guided to belief in the restoration of the gospel of JESUS CHRIST the year I turned 20, & @60 it is THE best decision I've ever made...p.s...I used to park up at the Capitol in SLC & walk down to attend conference - watching your video brought many fond memories of Utah, (having lived in downtown SLC & Provo, & surrounding areas for 15 years - moved down to AZ a year ago...your ability to speak in such clear & honest terms & ideas is so nice....🌎🌿🌎🌿🌎🌿🌎
My issue is every prohphet since the Joseph smith has reiterated us being in the last days. Yet, it’s never come. They make each generation feel like they are most definitely going to be there for the second coming, and I can’t help but feel they use it as a fear tactic to increase retention.
@@goodoleboy2525 In many countries members have to travel long distances and stay over night just to get their own temple work done and they only go once or twice in their whole life. The work beyond the veil can not yet take place globally yet so hence why the church is doing a massive international temple building push.
@@goodoleboy2525 "In a general sense a prophet is anyone who has a testimony of Jesus Christ by the Holy Ghost"...what do YOU think of Jesus Christ's return?...EACH should do the work of study, prayer, & listening to the Spirit of God for their own life...I believe He is to return soon...whether "in life," or "in death," each is to prepare to meet their Maker...Jesus is definitely closer today to returning than yesterday...(& it is no coincidence that 2020 - the year the world essentially STOPPED, was the 200th Anniversary of "The First Vision"...SOOO many signs before & since - I'm keeping WATCH & PREPARING the best I can, personally...(& keeping HOPE ALIVE in the chaos of these last days of this wicked world...soon wickedness will be WIPED OFF our earth, & we live happily. ever. after🌎)
@@SharonStoneman-n4q We might. But most people won’t, because “For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” And it’s kinda sad to think about God creating all of us, knowing the majority would suffer, or at least, suffer then reach a minor kingdom where they would eventually stop progressing, making the rest of their eternal lives lacking the ability to progress. Which sounds not very pleasant, since the ability to progress is what makes life feel like it’s worth living. And for what? So that only those “few” get to experience an eternal life actually worth living because there is infinite progression available. Sorry, I don’t mean to come off demeaning, or take down your positivity, because to be honest I really appreciate and you seem like a great person. It’s just a lot of these things like this make it hard for me to truly have a desire to believe.
@@goodoleboy2525 ...to be frank....@15 I felt like 150 -i didn't believe in God, had no purpose or direction, after being sucked into the basest things this world had to offer, starting@age 11 - due to many circumstances - one being, having lost all parental guidance - I cried out to the Unknown GOD one desperate nite - feeling I could not continue ...I cried to God for help, to give me something to hold on to because I had NOTHING...I remembered being happy as a very young child, (& if the way I was living was all life had to offer as an "adult" I didn't want it...& w/that prayer, life changed...I woke up as usual late for school, missed the bus, started walking (I lived in the D.C. suburbs of Virginia) & suddenly hearing birds song for the first time, it seemed, & noticed flowers & green grass...the beauty of the sky...I could SEE for the first time in YEARS...I had been in a dark place - unable to SEE the beauty of creation - that was just the beginning of the change that happened....I feel like God came to save ME...someone not even worthy of my parents love & direction...GOD, the Creator of the Universe, cared about a miserable little girl in D.C. You have such an honest soul. So, glad you have found the goodness and joy availabe to all who embrace the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. God bless you brother. 🙂🙏❤️
It’s funny watching the parallel between you and Pastor Jeff. You started your journey with an open heart open to learning and with sincere humility. Pastor Jeff took a little different route with the goal of converting members to evangelical Christianity. The open heart and the humility isn’t quite there but I’m hopeful that he and his wife are slowly getting there. David, thank you for joining our family, you bring so much to the table.
I'm glad someone else noticed this contrast. I started watching both channels around the same time. Despite pastor Jeff's claims of keeping an open mind, it was YOU David that truly showed us what keeping an open mind looked like. This was a wonderful summarization of conference and I thank you for it. I have no ill will towards pastor Jeff, but I see him for who he is and I know what he's trying to do.
I quit watching pastor Jeff until he did a podcast with Jared Halverson. I also have felt that his idea was to convert LDS people to his evangelical thinking . When his wife Joy says that we don't need the temple etc to come to Jesus , I get the feeling that yes, you are partly right, but the Lord does need a good crew membership to steer the boat of good people and take them further. Pres Nelson's messages from the Lord resonates in our hearts to Be the people who are READY AND WILLING to have Jesus return to. There has to be a structured church, a real purpose, a Zion people on earth to help The King in his purpose to bring to pass immortality and eternal life of man. Perhaps pastor Jeff will be one of the first where his whole congregation will be baptized in the Lord's church. He and his wife are surrounded by good LDS friends. That's my prayer from an old past evangelical who tried to find Jesus there. With open heart and mind I found the LDS church over 50 years ago. Now I am pleased to announce that we have 4 grandchildren serving in various parts of the world and one more leaving next year.I have enjoyed David's journey and always prayed for him that the Lord would guide him to His church. You have some great responsibilities waiting for you in His work! Stay the course, you are an example and strength to many!
I'm excited for you, David! My testimony grows when I take time to be still and reflect. Thank you for reminding me to ponder at the temple or places of peace around me. I love your testimoney brother.
I was visiting my son and his family over conference weekend and I can see the Mt. Timanogas temple from every north facing window in his house. Temples are a piece of Heaven on Earth. I love your channel. I first found your channel after I had just gone through the Open House at the Manti Temple. What a journey you have been on. The gospel is true!
That children's choir! And I love your experience at the temple- it is always a place to feel peace and to get re-centered! So glad you could come to Utah and could enjoy General Conference! You reflect God's light and inspire me and many others!
Every time I see your new videos, I am filled with joy. It’s been so cool to watch your journey, and to have you now as a brother in the gospel is something I am so grateful for!
Love you Brother. Have enjoyed your journey. It's been such a spirit filled trek. Have prayed for you to find your truth and your journey has strengthened my own testimony. Thank you for sharing!
Your story is so inspirational. Thank you for your special testimony and thoughtful comments. You're truly a disciple of Christ. You have strengthened my testimony.
I've been waiting for this! This was an amazing conference for me. I really enjoyed Sister Kristen M. Lee's talk "Joy of our redemption". It really spoke to me and I didn't want it to end!. Always love hearing about new Temples as well. Welcome, Brother. Prayers from south Utah County!
The protesters were far fewer and quieter than in previous years. Maybe SLC is less of a tourist draw with the temple being under reconstruction. I love Jeff and Joy. What a special bonus it was for you to bump into them.❤
It’s probably because they are slowly realizing that protesting indirectly strengthens church members belief in the church rather than increasing their doubt in the church. Protesters against the church and members is a good example of controlled opposition. Just like Jewish people are convinced they are in the right religion because no other religious group has been more persecuted.
Thanks for sharing your journey with us. I joined the church in 1978 at the age of 25, I have learned that as a convert, the best way to move forward is one step at a time (I know so profound right?) but as you do, you will learn, you will grow, you will be tested, you will be proven but as you keep walking forward towards the light your testimony and your relationship with the Lord will strengthen and deepen. I am so happy for you, for your choice and to see that you are still moving forward. Your desire to get on the covenant path shows that you have a humble and willing heart to follow Christ and yes, you will be an instrument and already are an instrument for others to find the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. God Bless you, stay true, hold true and endure to the end, and continue to read the Book of Mormon it will be your anchor, all of this will be worth it!! ❤ PS:I LOVED the children's choir and Sister Freeman's talk and Elder Kearon's talk and of course Pres. Nelson's talk at the end, we are getting so much closer to the day we have been waiting for all of our life!
The beauty of the restored Gospel is that you bring what you have and add to it. And we all are learning and growing in our knowledge, new convert or life-long member. While you may find doctrine that is different from what you've known before, don't let it scare you. Take everything to the Lord, and He will direct your path. Covenants work. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are intimately involved with each of us as we make our way back to Them. And I will agree with everyone else here, the Children's Choir was amazing, especially on Gethsemane. 😊
The Children's choir had me ugly crying! What an experience was this last conference! Of course I say that after each one, I guess. Each is special and necessary. Thanks for your testimony!
I love following you. I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my entire life and I need these views through fresh eyes. (I live in Orem and I love seeing your connection to the Temple here.) I forget too easily how blessed I am and how special my life has been. I loved that children's choir as well! Don't ever feel to small or too unworthy for the blessings the Lord is giving you. He's placed you in a visible position for a purpose, I'm sure. I keep thinking of Ether 12:27 - you're moving closer to the Savior each day and you'll see your weaknesses more easily. Those weaknesses will keep you humble as the Lord amplifies your light to a wider audience. Thank you for being such a blessing to the world!
Love this video. T ✨️H ✨️X ✨️ The Oakland temple is so lit up that it directs pilots toward their destination especially on foggy nights.. It is their becon of Light...!
I have a friend who is a recent convert and is going through some similar challenges, and he has family that is VERY opposed to the LDS church and that has only amplified that feeling of uncertainty as a new member. I recently helped him see that he has changed way more than he thought, and that he would never really be able to go back to his old understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, because he would have to sacrifice so much to do so. Would he really want to give up temples, modern prophets and revelation, his increased understanding of the Savior’s Atonement, etc.? I think it’s normal for us to start to take these things for granted after a while, and don’t really consider what it would be like to go back to an existence where we no longer have those incredible blessings. Please keep pushing forward through these early stages, and the day will come when some of your new light will reflect back for you to see. We can already see it!
David, you are a light to me! I see you reflect the light of Jesus Christ! I love the way you explain your experiences! You are a great witness for Jesus Christ and His gospel. Thank you, brother!
Thank you! You’ll never know how much you touch the lives of many, bringing them out of darkness into the light, what an incredible young man you are - fulfilling a critical, positive and eternal mission!
I was leaving Brigham City, Utah one morning just as the sunlight topped the mountains. With most of the city still fairly dark, the sun hits the temple spire and the Angel Moroni statue. Stunning.
The thing that I’ve always felt a kinship with you, especially watching before you joined until now, is your spiritual gift of discernment. You instinctually perceive the fruits of the Spirit. I very much appreciate the way that you are able to convey that in your message. As others have stated as well, you fit in perfectly. I for one appreciate you bringing much of the light that the evangelical world has into the fold.
I found t to his episode particularly uplifting. Thank you for sharing! The first year leading up to receiving the endowment can be hard and everyone faces opposition prior to receiving the endowment. May God continue to bless you to overcome through Christ.
Your spiritual journey is one of a kind. You are the best example of a gospel convert. My family is very happy for you. Enjoy the many more spiritual blessings as you embrace a different kind of life in God's true church on earth. Sending our love from the Philippines.
Thank you for sharing in such a personal way. You made me think of when Jesus said to Peter, "when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren". Thank you for sharing the strength of your faith, it lifts me up.
I was surfing bad things on UA-cam and this popped up. I am glad I chose to watch this. I started this morning with a prayer. I watched President Nelson's recent talk where he mentioned the 2nd Coming, then tonight faced temptation. This convert and his conviction will strengthen me to pray before I head to bed.
What a great example you are to the world. Not just members but even nonmembers. I love your vulnerability your honesty and Quest for more knowledge. Just know that you are making a difference.
Thank you for your beautiful testimony. As a lifelong member i think we all have been in the darkness at times. And the gospel has always been my beacon of light and hope. Keep up your journey and remember there will be opposition in all things. So remember the light when you do experience darkness at times.
I always enjoy your experience and impressions. It reminds me years ago when I was LDS missionary. Spending 2 years as a young man serving others and finding others who wanted to hear what I was sharing changed my life forever, just like I knew it would when I was a child in the LDS church.
I am so thankful for your search for truth and opening your heart to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ!! This is His church and you are doing a great missionary work. I pray that you will be kept safe from the slings and arrows of Satan who is working overtime on all righteous people. We are so grateful for the prophets and apostles that are the Savior’s mouthpieces and our firm foundation. Bless you!!!!❤
Wow, without even knowing it He was telling you that His temple and the blessings that come from it would be near soon. That’s incredible! Another great episode! Keep it up and keep moving forward!
that is the perfect perspective! give yourself time (and grace)...it's what God does, and yeah, we need to be there for Christ. everything else is backdrop or scenery...it's not a one size fits all, and i hope that more and more disciples of Christ realize this and don't feel like they have to adopt any other 'culture' than one of being a true disciple of Christ.
Im 10 months deep. Don't know to many members much less converts outside my ward. But looking at the comments on this video makes me so proud of the gospel. Wish I would've have met the missionaries way earlier in life
Thank you for sharing your beautiful testimony. I’ve been following you for months. God has an amazing plan for you to follow. Stay on the path it is where you will find the greatest joy, everlasting joy.
I’m glad you love conference as much as I do! I moved to D.C. and can no longer attend in person. I love your page bc my mom and dad were converts from Catholicism and Methodist. Love your content!
David, you continue to inspire us with new and different insights on what long-time members perceive as the normal flow of things. That is a very good thing for all of us that follow your journey. I hope you can maintain that sense of awe and wonder for a long time...because it helps us all. Shifting gears: I really couldn't understand the guy screaming about chastity and morality on the street since LDS young people (while not perfect) are held to a strict code of morality...I remember showing the first edition of "For the Strength of Youth" to a Catholic friend 50 years ago and he thought it was a treasure. The standard of chastity is required to even serve a mission so with 60,000 (or so) young people out there on missions...that's a pretty big group which stands for chastity. So, in my view, that guy screaming about it had no idea what he was talking about. I'm 80. I've had intimate relations with exactly two women in my whole life and I was married to both of them, at the time (but not at the same time) (I've been widowed twice). At least for my generation that is and was the norm. Finally, when President Nelson announced Wisconsin for a new temple my mind immediately thought of you. Maybe your "ministry" brought that about...who knows? Thanks for all you contribute.
Thanks for sharing your insights. I would have had you over for lunch after visiting the Timp temple. You have more friends than you realize. I feel like we are great friends that haven't yet met.
David you are an inspiration, I love your openness and honesty. I appreciate ALL your videos, I have learned so much about many churches and peoples. I was born LDS, converted at 19. My family includes many Lutherans and Catholics. It’s interesting that when my Norwegian grandparents, on my mother’s side, were converted to the LDS Church, they moved to Provo bringing the Catholics and Lutherans with them. It’s been wonderful to have three religions in the family all United in love with no conflicts. We love you and pray for your success in all areas of your life.
Because the church is the 'Restored Church of Jesus Christ' (of latter day saints) mircles happen all the time. I've been a member for almost 60 years, come January and have seen many. Having a temple closer to you will be one of those miracles for you and others in your area. Be faithful and you'll see many more. Jesus Christ is definitely in charge and is guiding us back to our heavenly home.
You’re a deeply thoughtful person David. Thank you for sharing your experience. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard of others being moved towards the church by the negativity of its detractors. I guess they really are being instruments in the Lord’s hands 😂
Br Boice, I do not think that you realize what an incredible and powerful missionary you have been and can be in bringing the restored gospel into the lives of people who are searching for it. Your kindness, love, compassion, and respect speak to the heart. Your love of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ shine through in your moments of joy....and disappointments. Please do not let the disappointments or the feeling of somehow not being enough bring you down. This is Jesus Christ's church and HE says that you are enough (way more than enough) and HE says that you belong and guess what? He has the final say, nobody else! The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true and heals wounds. This I know because I'm experiencing it for myself right now. The gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone who doesn't feel like they are enough. It is for the broken and downtrodden of which I can fully relate. It is also a gospel of joy just like Elder Kearon speaks of! This I also know as I navigate through grief. I've found out that even in the deepest of grief, I can still experience joy because of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I believe in Him and in what He promises us through the glorious restored gospel! May you be blessed and the righteous desires of your heart be answered. Much love in Christ to you dear brother, you are one of the valiant ones!
Thank you for sharing your faith journey. As a life long active member, it's easy to take things for granted-- you remind me of how precious the gospel is. 😢
I love this commentary. When the temple was announced in Wisconsin. I immediately thought of you and all the saints there in that state...and it gave me so much Joy. 😊
I love how you have, so naturally, taken gentle introspection and published it to the world. You are such a healer🙏so you know the path and who you follow. I suppose Jesus chose to be the vessel into which all dark gifts are taken and transformed. As the Light of the World and Great Healer He has overcome all our darkness.
Thank you so much for sharing your light with so many. I heard a story from General Conference a long time ago that reminded me about sharing our light. It goes something like this: a lantern salesman was having no luck in getting people to try his new lantern. People told him that their lanterns worked fine, no reason for a new one. Finally at one apartment building, he met a man who started to tell him that he didn't want a new lantern but the salesman stopped him and said "I don't want you to give up your lantern. It's a fine lantern and gives off light, but can I show you mine and we can see together if there is a difference?" The new lantern lit the room from corner to corner, whereas the old lantern only lit the table. The man bought the new lantern and was so happy to share this new knowledge with others. I'm sure I massacred the story but hopefully you understood the message. It's the contrast between having Christ in your life or not. It's the truth that sharing our light does not diminish the old, but adds depth and breadth that we had no idea existed! You inspire me to continue to share Christ's gospel even though it is difficult and sometimes I feel like the lantern salesman. May God continue to bless you in your important work of spreading His light.
David, I just wanted to tell you what an inspiration you have been to me. I live in the Memphis area, and your fundraiser for St. Jude is such a wonderful thing! Also, you said that it is a bit scary for you being a new member and learning how you fit in the grand scheme of things. Please know that you are loved! You are so brave doing this journey. I discovered your channel about a year ago and was just blown away with your content. I am a lifetime member of the church but I hope you know that your experience means so much to me. I have learned so much from you. God bless you and all you do.
What was your General Conference highlight?
Let me know what you thought!
Sister Yee's talk made me cry, I'll admit.
President Nelson's eyes were *Twinkling*! I SAW it.
Elder Bednar, as always. Beware of pride.
Sister Yee's and Elder Egbo's talks really struck my heart as a parent. President Nelson really seemed radiant.
I started watching you at the beginning of my journey back into the church and the covenant path (after 17 years of inactivity). You were a big part of my return. Thank you 🙏
I hope he sees you comment. Comments like yours strengthen us all.
Thank you, that means a lot - grateful to be part of your own journey. Wishing you continued JOY as we move forward!
These comments make me happy!!!
Good for you for returning. God bless you!
Welcome back!!!!
This may be the first time someone’s faith journey has been documented like this in such depth. Thank you for this wonderful gift Brother Boice!
The children's choir singing "Gethsemane" had me full on ugly crying. When you feel the Holy Spirit...you FEEL it.
It was more amazing in person. I fully expected angels to show themselves and join them.
@@maryjr3857 💗
Two of my children had the amazing opportunity to be apart of the choir. I’m so thankful! I hope they will always remember it as long as they live!
I was driving when that came on. Had to fight to see the road! So amazing
Same! ❤
Brother Voght! Cool to see your comment on this video. I feel the same. - Brother Purnell
And now Milwaukee is getting a temple! I served my mission to Wisconsin, and I was so excited when Pres. Nelson announced it. I'm so happy for you and for all of the people I worked with while I was there.
Which wards in Wisconsin?
Incredible. Thanks for sharing. @@angesmambassa8549
Hi. I’m LDS. You have Laminate ancestry? What can you share with me about that? I just like learning where I can.
@@Emma2010929 I echo you, I'd love to learn more about his heritage to! ❤
You have laminate history! that's cool man.
You have helped so many people with your public faith journey! I started watching you prior to returning to church and getting rebaptized.
That's inspiring!
AMAZING!! 🎉
Congratulations! I am so happy for you and your family.

Love your light David. Thank you for inviting us to be a part of your experiences as you ascend and beckon us to follow and see!
You are amazing. I love your natural spirituality. I see God working in your life. At the same time, Satan wants you to fail and give up. Hang in there. Many people are praying for you and cheering for your success. Including your grandfather.

I agree with you about the children's choir. I felt the Spirit so strong. Jesus loves the little children!

The children really did sing so sweetly. It was really a powerful experience to hear them.
I have heard that the genealogy of both joself and Emma Smith was Judaism. Is this correct.
Well Said
Agreeeer

I HAD A VERY POWERFULL SPIRITUAL WITNESS 26 YEARS AGO AND I AM STILL A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS 🙏
Hugs and love to you, dear Brother David!
The stained glass windows in the Orem Temple were designed by my cousin's wife. Her talent is a blessing.
Me too. It just spoke to me.
I am so grateful to you! You have made my load easier to bear. Thank you for pointing me to Christ in every one of your videos
Wonderful advice. Those who treasure up the scriptures will never be deceived.
David thank you for your open heart. You’re doing a wonderful job with these efforts.
Love having you on the covenant path brother! Plus, a temple coming to Wisconsin!!!
The Oakland temple is so lit up that it directs pilots toward their destination especially on foggy nights.. It is their becon of Light...!
David such a special moment to run into you brother! Appreciate you saying hi to us! Your videos of your journey inspire us all! 16:00
I loved Elder Brook Hales talk entitled “Mortality Works”.
Thanks for bringing the spirit to my heart today with this post. You are a light!!
Me too! Loved it.
Me too!
You inspire me. You belong. I'm excited to see you grow in the church.
I am so glad Wisconsin is getting a Temple. That will be a wonderful edifice for the wonderful members there!
Yes, that children's choir, wow!
1st Nephi 8:33, " but we heeded them not."
You fit, you belong.
Bless you!!!!❤
Thank you for sharing your temple/Conference reverent moments and feelings. You were on holy and sacred ground listening to the words of the Savior.
Wow, without even knowing it He was telling you that His temple and the blessings that come from it would be near soon. That’s incredible! Another great episode! Keep it up and keep moving forward!
This conference was so good! Both my wife and I are looking forward to watching it a second time
Give yourself time. I've never felt like I fit in, but I'm not there for the social aspect. I"m there for Christ.
I'm a convert, too, of many years and still feel a bit like a stranger socially but not spiritually. ❤😊
Here is a sister in Christ who is happy you both are "here"!
Virtual high fives all around!
that is the perfect perspective! give yourself time (and grace)...it's what God does, and yeah, we need to be there for Christ. everything else is backdrop or scenery...it's not a one size fits all, and i hope that more and more disciples of Christ realize this and don't feel like they have to adopt any other 'culture' than one of being a true disciple of Christ.
Thank you for you testimony and your light in this world! ❤
No place brings me peace like the temple. I'm so glad you got to experience a concentrated dose of it over the weekend.
Our sincere prayers are always answered, watch and wait, my dear brother. You are a light & are being led 🙏🙏🙏
