yes, I know its expensive. I said as much. I dont like scalextric chassis and setups. Even Carrera cars while fast are not as versatile. I do however like the slot it motor pod layout and that kind of configurable chassis. I have 75 cars. its not about the money. its about building the car I want, and enjoying the actual process of building it.
most of the chassis I bought , come from shapeways. Made by "prospeed slot racing". They have a LOT of chassis and many of the ones for carrera cars include holes for the digital carrera chips and posts for the LED lights. (they sometimes have a chassis for the digital/lights and one without.. so give it a good look before adding to cart). But they have chassis for various makes.. slot.it, NSR, Carrera, scalextric.
ive only been at this a year. and have only just now started to hear about brushless motors for slot cars. currently I havnt seen any that would fit my application. mostly for custom wood tracks and certain types of communities. Im getting speeds and torque that already exceed what my track can handle. though it might be something doable in the future when if I see more compatible type motors within an RPM and torque range that would suit my track.
Brilliant Dave! I've been thinking about painting my track and the "candy stripes". You've inspired me to give it a go, so wish me luck.
Good stuff dude
I wouldn't personally spend that much on a Scalextirc car then chassis and parts you could get a really nice car for the money your spending.

Where do you get your Chassis from ?

Thank you
First time viewer--- great video!,.... Did not catch the part number for your rear tires? and do you run Paul Gage tires- thanks!
ct
Yes I run Paul Gage on all my cars. For those Slot.it rear wheels.. the 17.3 x 9.75 , I use the PGT-20125LM tires
@@slotrods6430 thanks- for the quick response back!
Why not brushless conv.?
