I'd love to see you play a sample. I have the 79-80 Season and tried to play it when I got it in 1981 but it was complicated and I didn't have the patience to learn it given Status-Pro was much easier. Fast forward to 2021 I pulled it from storage and was curious, so I played a quarter and only then recognized how well thought out the game play was. I really appreciate the effort put into the game.
The big plastic piece I believe you put on the boards to read across for results. I dug my game out a couple of months ago. It took me back to when I was running round robin tournaments with the quick version. I always felt the rebounding dictated who would win, but never took into account playing time to make things more realistic. If I recall, you could play a game using the short version in a reasonable amount of time. Setting up locator charts for the stats was always a bit of work. Thanks for taking me back to my youth for a few minutes. Look forward to seeing or hearing how you make out with any game playing you do with the set
LOL. I'm one of those guys who literally only made it into the 3rd quarter! True story. Combination of too slow and to be honest too complicated for high school age me. I'll be interested to see you play.
Congrats on acquiring your grail, Gilles! What a great gift from Jim!
My APBA Holy Grail is the Pro Boxing game. Extremely hard to find. I have all the others including horse racing and pro bowling
You are right, the boxing is as rare as those 50s set, I’ve seen it live 2x and actually played at an apba convention
What boy could resist the lure of an APBA or Strat brochure?
Oh I remember I made my on parquet floor over the strato board good times your bringing back great memories.
good stuff man... glad you got your holy grail... your a happy happy happy man....

The brochure showed you can buy 500 scoresheets. No human would have time enough to play that many APBA basketball games.
Awesome Gilles! Think of the watch hours you can log by playing this on your channel!?!?!?!
Some super teams there! Rules really do make sense when you dig in. Savor away!
