the way dave-adrian-janick have complemented eachother over the years is just.... i dont know how any band will ever again come close to how they sound together.
It's great to hear that Infinite Dreams is one of your favourite songs, it is my favorite song from my favourite Maiden album. Amazing job Nico, thanks man!
The "slow" Iron Maiden songs are some of my favorites. This one and "Still Life" are so awesome! Now we also have "Hell on Earth" to add to awesome Maiden songs similar to this.
You should give college classes only about Maiden's songs. And yes, this song is absolutely majestic. I think Maiden is the perfect band to teach and learn guitar. Thank you for this videos from the bottom of my heart.
Great breakdown of one of Maiden's best songs. I've always loved how Dave & Adrian's guitars complemented one another, and not just followed what the other was doing. This song demonstrates this concept wonderfully. Dave hit the spot with those Hendrixy licks. It's also cool how Dave usually stuck with the neck pickup for his solos, as opposed to Adrian's lead bridge tones. This adds more color and makes the players more recognizable. Add to that Steve's amazing bass lines, Nicko's virtuosity (his playing on the 7th Son title track is out of this world and builds up atmosphere magnificently), and last but not least the good old Air Raid Siren's operatic prowess. A truly unique band with unmatched song writing skills. Very few are on the same level as Iron Maiden.
Amazing song. One of my favourites. Thanks for such an incredibly skillful breakdown. I love the song the prisoner from the number of the beast album but it seems to get overlooked
Wow, that was just brilliant, Nico! I couldn’t agree more as when you said that’s something we “can’t” but it’s definitely something we can feel. That’s what Maiden and metal music is for me: feeling. Thanks so much for this one. Any song you touch, you make it gold. Nice job, mate!
Spot on Nico! Beautiful track. Gives me the chills. The guitar parts in the verse are very Hendrixy I find. John Frusciante from the Chili Peppers uses a lot of that in his playing also. Unmissable. Great channel buddy, cheers from Wales 🏴 UK to you and yours.
This was the best video I've seen în years on youtube. Another song I think it would be cool to make such analysis on it is The Prophecy, from the same album
Just love this song..... The way that both Dave and Adrian merge and melt their styles into this infinite build up that finally ends up in that scream is just beautiful and perfect!!
Another thing that stands out on Seventh Son of the Seventh Son is how much palm-muted rhythm work there is and how heavy the bottom end of the sound is. No other Iron Maiden album is more old school heavy metal in terms of rhythm guitar work than Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.
My fav Iron Maiden song without a doubt! \m/ the reason: I think this song encompasses all aspects of Iron Maiden, fantastic solo, melody, dual guitars, rhythm guitar! Killer song!
Your breakdowns of how intricate Maiden songs are is amazing! It really shows how brilliant Maiden is and how talented you are as well to break it down and show everyone! Great content, love your channel!
Such a cool video, and what a song, indeed! I was happy to hear you point out Dave’s Little Wing influence, because I love those parts. Infinite Dreams perfectly showcases that chemistry between Dave and Adrian that made Killers through SSoaSS so iconic. I remember Adrian saying that he couldn’t imagine having that kind of connection with anyone else. SSoaSS is such a magical album, and was perfect with which to end the 80s.
Ah yes that mental thing ☺️ You're absolutely right...it really was a perfect end to the 80s. Like a culmination of everything they built up until that point, before moving towards a different sound and approach. Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Cool comment C B. I hadn’t heard that about Adrian’s statement about playing with Dave, but I totally believe that one for sure. Real cool, thanks for sharing that. Have a good one! And oh yes, that Hendrix influence is so cool!
This has been one of my absoulute favourite songs by Iron Maiden ever since I, as a kid, watched my dad's old VHS with Maiden England. Such an amazing song with great arrangements. This is probably my favourite to play on guitar also!
Infinite dreams is my favourite maiden track.. your dissection and break down just shows how epic and complicated that song is and why it's so good!!! Also you're clearly very talented..
I absolutely love your videos, especially the ones like this. I would really enjoy seeing a video about a song from a matter of life and death, its defenitly my favorite album after Seventh son of a seventh son.
That Interlude is indeed possibly the best Maiden has ever written.... (beside the interludes / harmonies in the Loneliness of the long distance runner! :-)
another classic guitar harmony song, i do end up jumping from my faves albums, Piece of Mind, Somewhere in Time, Seventh Son, i listen to these 3 in particular and each is my favorite at that moment
Thanks for this lesson !! ❤This song encapsulate the essence of everything i love in Iron Maiden. Everything is so perfect in this song, the lyrics, the melodies , the solos..This metaphysical feeling of adventure and mystery..I am so grateful to have be exposed to this poetry when i was young, and i listen to it ..again..and again..and again..
Maybe my favourite Harris song, along with Caught Somewhere in Time. For all the reasons you mentioned. The lyrics had a huge impact on me. They resonate deep inside of me. Beautiful work Nico and, once again, congratulations!
Yes it is!! The whole album is an absolute masterpiece Love these break downs! Shows a detailed analysis of why we love these songs As for the song any of them, I can listen to maiden all day every day and never get bored
Infinite Dreams is quite an underrated song to be honest. I love how the group can bring everything together and create a solid storyline. It's one of many things that drew me to Iron Maiden. Ever since listening to you, I've begun to pick up some of the subtle notes that you talked about; not exactly easy but you can hear them.
For a non-guitar guy like myself, you've made this video very educational and entertaining. And also made me be more aware of more subtle changes in this song the next time I listen. You the man, Nico! 👊
You are a god... I hope the band is in contact with you and covers you with goodies... You give so much depth into explaining WHY Maiden is way ahead of other metal bands. Their musicianship is at another level. Not the heaviest, not the fastest, but definitely comparable to prog and classic rock legends in term of brilliant writing.
i have always loved Infinite Dreams. It is sad that they have rarely played it in concert. I think the Maiden England concert video they put out a year or so after SSOASS was released, they played it. Hoping one day, before they decide to call it quits, they decide to play it live, again. Great video here, Nico!!!! Many thanks!!👍👍👍
they rehearsed it in 2012 intending to play it on that tour and they decided against it and went with Afraid to Shoot Strangers. A few of us tracked Rod down after the Atlanta gig and asked him where that song was. It's my favorite from that album.
Superb analysis. Id like to see you tackle "Keeper of the Seven Keys" parts 1 & 2. Heavily 'Maiden influenced, Helloween managed to synthesise the speed of Thrash metal (eg Metallica & Anthrax), with neoclassical shred (eg Malmsteen), with nods to both early 'Maiden right up to SSOASS. The late 80's were awesome for metal and musically, Donington MoR 1988 was an absolute pinnacle of the genre.
This song has been my favourite Maiden song for 30+ years, actually it was my gateway drug that led me to a life-long love affair with heavy music, so happy to discover your video and know that someone else worships every detail of this song as much as I do, it absolutely is their most monumental masterpiece ever, hands down no questions!
This was an *amazing* breakdown! Bravo! I'd love to hear more like this! Anything from *Somewhere in Time* or *7th Son* would be phenomenal, particularly both title tracks as they're quite progressive.
I remember quite well when Seventh Son was released. Most metal heads were of the opinion that Maiden “sold out” with the use of synthesizers! I blasted this album(cassette at the time)religiously on my Hitachi boombox,in my ‘72 Nova. We knew it was an instant CLASSIC!
For some reason, this is my favorite album from IM and this song I could listen to it non stop. Other albums, there are always some songs that I don't entirely enjoy. Not this album... I love every song.
Another highlight of the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album is actually the GK 250ML guitar amp. The three-dimensional crunch, the huge bottom end, and the gorgeous chorus on that amp make the album as much as the songs themselves.
As always awesome breakdown. When I saw Chapter 3 of the History tours "Maiden England" in Calgary AB, I really hoped that they would have played this live. But they didn't. But at least I got to see "Seventh Son" Live...Dream come true forsure!
7th Son was first Maiden album I ever listened when I was 11 years old and I was absolutely astonished from the title track masterpiece! Infinite Dreams is one of my favourite track off the album and from entire Maiden discography along with The Clairvoyant and The Prophecy... I recently discovered your channel, great job dude! Maiden was my first metal band and still my favourite one cheers from Italy
Couldn`t have said it better than you did in the intro!! This is the perfect Iron Maiden song, got all the ingredients that make Maiden what they are..... My 3 year old son already got it as his favorite song now, though he started with "Dance of Death" and his friends enjoy Baby Shark and the Paw Patrol theme..... Great breakdown, you Rock!!!
Those Hendrix-esque details by Dave Murray makes em one of the best sections ever in a Maiden song
Imagine having an arsenal of songs so strong that you can decide NOT to play Infinite Dreams. This would be the best song on many bands' catalogues.
Seriously!!!! Craziness 🤯
Yes!
I can imagine it because
..Iron Maiden did it.
An amazing song that's rarely, almost never, played. Than goodness we have Maiden England where we can enjoy this masterpiece.
the way dave-adrian-janick have complemented eachother over the years is just.... i dont know how any band will ever again come close to how they sound together.
It's called modesty, humility, Friendship, respect and camaraderie
They should have gotten rid of janick yrs ago, hes so not iron maiden with his style of moving around on stage.
MASTERPIECE SONG!!!!! One of the very best of Maiden!
It's great to hear that Infinite Dreams is one of your favourite songs, it is my favorite song from my favourite Maiden album. Amazing job Nico, thanks man!
Same here Fellow :)
Glad you're finding the vids useful! Thank you!
I absolutely love Nikko's drumming in this song. It's definitely some of his best.
Incredible masterpiece. The overall dreamy atmosphere of the 7th Son album is amazing!

A truly unique band with unmatched song writing skills. Very few are on the same level as Iron Maiden.
I absolutely love this song. It's an underappreciated gem.
My favorite Iron Maiden song
It blew me away when I first heard it in 89, it still blows me away now. Up the Irons!
Infinite Dreams is not only my favorite Maiden song but it’s one of my favorite songs of all time
love this song…
This is in my top 5 maiden songs and one of the best Dickinson 's moments .Very underrated song and album

This song is definitely a prime example of why iron maiden is brilliant!!!
I could listen to this song forever.
Yes. My favorite Maiden song.
This is definately best Maiden song.
In other words, Adrian and Dave are far more genius on the guitar than many of us realize? Thank you for the amazing breakdown of all this.
The whole album is an absolute Masterpiece! Up the Irons!🤘🤩
It is my favourite song. Trooper from indonesia
Esta fue la primera canción que escuché de Iron Maiden y desde allí quedé enganchado. The best. Saludos desde Panamá
This was the best video I've seen în years on youtube. Another song I think it would be cool to make such analysis on it is The Prophecy, from the same album
This was a really good video Chip, I completely agree! It turned out perfectly, I think Nico’s outdone himself on quality here.
Thank you so much! It's a huge compliment 🙏
Prophecy is a wonderful song indeed... Definitely worth a closer look!
My favorite song all-time from favorite Maiden album of all-time.
Just love this song.....
The way that both Dave and Adrian merge and melt their styles into this infinite build up that finally ends up in that scream is just beautiful and perfect!!
I lovw your channel and its contribution to heavy metal history and exploration.
I love the whole song and especially love the drumline. Or any instrument in it I concentrate to with all my nerves.
Fave Maiden song, no arguments. Brilliant breakdown mate.
This is my favortie maiden song. my favorite album
I never paid much attention to this song until I heard it on Maiden England live VHS. It’s so well done
Uno dei miei pezzi preferiti dal mio album preferito .

Absolutely one of their best, IMO.

@@CC-qb9sm 😊 Nico actually got his quote more accurate. Adrian said “mental thing.” So cool! If I can find that interview I’ll link it! Cheers! 🤘
Simply (for me) the best Maiden song.
This has been one of my absoulute favourite songs by Iron Maiden ever since I, as a kid, watched my dad's old VHS with Maiden England. Such an amazing song with great arrangements. This is probably my favourite to play on guitar also!

AMOLAD is one of my favourites as well so I will definitely do something from that album!!
That Interlude is indeed possibly the best Maiden has ever written.... (beside the interludes / harmonies in the Loneliness of the long distance runner! :-)
one of the best analysis.
even i haven't notified before the guitar riffs during the guitar solos till i saw your video.
👏🏼
Love that song
Still my favorite Maiden song. Thanks for this breakdown brother!
another classic guitar harmony song, i do end up jumping from my faves albums, Piece of Mind, Somewhere in Time, Seventh Son, i listen to these 3 in particular and each is my favorite at that moment
My all time favoruite song. Love it.
Great song, amazing playing.
Man , these breakdowns are NEXT LEVEL! Amazing Nico
Would love to see a breakdown of ... THE THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE
gracias por tu análisis..... SIT es también mi album favorito de Maiden
Now we're talking the album that got me into maiden and one of my favourite maiden tracks great breakdown as always 👍
This is one of the most beautiful Iron Maiden's songs, of course...
One of my favs, no doubt ;thanks a lot for this detailed video!

Love this song and your break down of it.
Thank you for your videos that you describe iron maiden music, seems to me such some kind of musicology!!
Phenomenal breakdown my man 🎸

Maiden fan for 30+ years, but this song has a different "feeling" and it's been my fav since knowing the band, great vid! Up the Irons!
My favorite Iron Maiden song! Thanks for the analisys!
Wow! That's so awesome that you partly explained all that great riffs! Love this song so much, but you did great work! Thank you!
one of my favorite Maiden songs too. So many layers, such a beautiful melody. Great video Nico... Looking forward to getting this song down...
1000 thanks!! It's definitely a fun one to play along with once you get some of those little nuances in there. 😃
@@LicksOfTheBeast and nuances are the name of the game with Maiden..
Nico, you put a ton of work into this. Thanks for your efforts. Awesome channel!!
