A note about low-latency gaming mode; you can reduce the latency even further with hardware that supports Snapdragon Sound aptx low-lantency mode, which is still making its way to market. In ideal scenarios it will go as low as 20ms if both ends of the path support it. We also have an update coming for the voice pickup on calls that utilizes on-device AI, that will enhance clarity in busy environments.

I can live with white noise in transparency mode but am noticing static noise in my left earbuds which is annoying. I hope further update will fix that issue. Overall am happy for my purchase.
Almost 3 weeks into getting my momentum 4 headphones... they started doing weird stuff. The right ear cup has a white noise and the left cup started giving off random high pitched feedback... I'm returning them and I hope the true wireless buds don't have this issue! (First and final try sennheiser)

Glad you covered in-call controls as well. The mute microphone, volume control, in-ear detection features, sidetone on and off, line switching, basically I hadn't realised how accustomed I became to Jabra features and didn't realise many other earbuds don't give so much control
I second that perl pro ranking. Those buds are on a different level. I've never felt like I was in the studio with my favorite bands surrounded by the sound before them. Great vid!

I think personal taste plays a role as well as I had the Denon here and returned them pretty much on the same day. I am used to listening to studio monitors like Neumann/Adam Audio etc in my Stereo system so I am still looking for ear buds that can replicate this neutral studio monitor sound, but 90% seem to have a bathtub frequency response which I absolutely hate. The search still continues until then I stick with the Google Pixel Buds Pro as I got them for free with my phone. 😅

Earbuds and headphones will never be a one-size-fits-all thing. It's a journey to find that "glass slipper," so to speak...and an expensive one at that. 😅

I've had the momentum 3s for the past couple years, and I loved them and haven't had any technical issues. The ONLY thing on my wishlist for these new ones was a smaller case..
Thanks again for another superb comparison. I had battery issues with my MW3 after less than a year happened all of a sudden thanks to Amazon and Sennheiser I had a replacement the next day so far for the last 6 months no problem. I will keep my MW3 really happy with them not worth the upgrade you should now gets some seriously good deals on the MW3 which for the price difference for most people a better option.
I recently bought the Momentum True Wireless 3 and absolutly loved the sound. But sadly they are unreliable as you mentioned. My right bud suddently stopped charging and the left bud is stuck at 10% battery. The case is at 100%. I tried resetting, cleaning the pins but no luck..
I had that as well. They had some manufacturing error with batteries and people were returning them. I did as well after like 6 months of use. It helped only once to clean the contacts but then one bud stopped charging completely.
Great review again and love your excel. My small suggestion on user phone/device that would be used with the earbuds as well. One of my biggest upside for the AirPods Pro 2 is actually the connectivity and I'd give it higher as an iPhone user. AAC is the best codec you can get on an iPhone and the switchability on iPhones, iPad, Macs are flawless to me. So as an Apple device users, I'd give the AirPods Pro 2 at least 8/10

Little update on the buds 3... I'm impressed 😁 if you EQ them well they can sound very very close to the mtw3. Their fit on my ear is waaaay better than the huge mtw3 design. The ANC and transparency is okay, a little bit worse than the mtw3, but similar, Except for the ANC.... However however, turning ANC in Mtw3 broke them sooooo 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ I never used it.... I am surprised at how they fit on my ear change the sounds. The sound quality due to the fit is too notch, and it feel like I have ANC when listening in a high volume. So far I like them. I do think that mtw4 would sound fantastic, I might think about buying them if they go lower then 200$
On your anc giant ranking list if the earbuds are ranked the same number is that indicating the anc strength about the same? if one is above the other and are ranked the same number is the one above stronger anc wise??? Thanks!!🙏🏾

Got these today and they are amazing. I don't know what happened but they sound brilliant out of the box and even more with the EQ. I use a third party EQ app and the sound is AMAZING!!

I only care about call quality and mics because I'm on a lot of phone calls everyday and I want something to block all my background noises when I'm on a phone call. No worries! The Beats Studio Buds + is the best at blocking out background noise. A pair like the EMEET Air Flow has a boom mic attachment which is the best Iv'e tested

The one plus buds 3 are literally since a steal look how high they rank on almost everything for that price wow. The momentums 4 are cool but for the price the one plus buds 3 are the clear choice
It's actually the same product as the Sennheiser Momentum 3, but with just software updates that masquerade as hardware updates, Sennheiser and Bose are fighting the same battle, that of recycling and zero 0 evolution 🤧 🚶🏽♂️ 🚶🏽♂️ 🚶🏽♂️
The Momentum 3s are great! I bought them 2 weeks ago and they sound superb!! I would recommend the 3s over 4s due to the price. Although there is meant to be issues with the 3s, which i havent experienced yet and hopefully never will
I bought the 3 like 2 months ago and they already broke down. sent them back to the shop now waiting for the 4. if yours ever break, ask for a new model (4) instead of 3
The ones bought at release (MTW3) worked for the most part all great, the most issues were with the products sold later on so there is a chance you'll have issues. I've had mine for almost 2 years (close to release) and they still work perfectly fine.
I don't test with classical but the way they're tuned and the customisation you have I can tell you their easily one of the best. The treble is going to work amazing with classical

"if you're thinking of upgrading from Momentum 3s - that is if they're still working -" That shit made me chuckle considering mine just went bust on me after a year of use. I am sending em back, and probably gonna upgrade with the Momentum 4s, I can't listen to anything else I am so used to Sennheiser's sound signature they just sound incredible. Everything else is either weird or a downgrade when it comes to sound quality.
I hope you review more headphones ITF, including some wired. For those of us using these various ear speakers who want good sound on lowest dollar amount, reviewers rarely hit the important comparisons adequately. Example: better product with dull GRAPHIC EQ options and nice default tuning for rock/metal, electric guitars, sax, voice, string sections-particularly for the chug and growl of extreme metal guitars.
New MTW4s, right bud has now gone dead when I’ve been out walking twice. Returning it to the case seems to reset it but I don’t want the case with me if I’m just getting my steps in and why should Ijust in case the earphones fail?
Agree with your ears and placement of Sennheisers at the top. TMW3 and 4 both outperform all other earbuds I’ve tested but a wide margin. I haven’t tested the Denons yet.
One problem that I had with previous TW3 was the flawed aptX Adaptive implementation. A well implemented aptX Adaptive is supposed to seamlessly adjust variable sound quality. But in case of Sennheiser even smallest signal disturbance (for instance when walking on a busy street) would cause the algorithm to drop the sound quality like a rock - resulting in audibly decreased, almost mono-like sound with lower volume, that would take multiple seconds to recover. It made aptX Adaptive pretty much useless for anything except home listening. I've never experienced anything similar with other buds supporting aptX adaptive. I got rid of my TWS3 eventually but i miss their sound cause it was really great when the connection was stable. I'm kind of thinking giving TW4 a chance but wonder whether you've noticed something similar to what described above? It only affects aptX Adaptive, no other codecs.

I've been using these quit a bit now and I've been using the multi point connection and I've been able to auto switch between my phone and my TV just by going into my phone and start watching a movie and it will auto connect to my phone and disconnect from my TV but when I do vice versa what's on my phone will pause.
Great review as always mate, these babies are expensive aren't they...although they just dropped on sale to $349 aud 😊 Had to return my Momentum 3 after 13months just wouldnt charge or play anymore. Thankfully had the 2 year warranty! A shame because I loved the sound out of those. Had no idea it was such a widespread fault hey.
Hello, I used mtw2 before and I was extremely satisfied. I was cycling for hours and it still did not fall out of my ears. mtw2 broke down, they sent me mtw3, it didn't fit my ear at all and it was falling out of my ear while doing sports. I had the same problems with Airpods pro 2 and sold the product I'm looking for a headset with good music quality and transparency mode that won't fall out of my ears, which one would you recommend?

So they basically took Momentum 3s, looked for everything it lacks and perfected them. Nice move ! But I would like to see how would they sound with bigger drivers. Best headphones I have used so far but, could they sound better ?
Have you tested the Denon PerL Pro's. I tested these when they where the Nura True Pro. Against Sennheiser Momentum 3. The Nura where fantastic. I have the Klipsch Sixes speakers with 200w continuious and 400w max. The Nura's sounded every bit as good it not better. I also have Hifiman HE400 planar magnetics with a headphone amp. The Nura's where fare better in every aspect.
Currently i have the Sennheiser TW4 and the Audio Technica ATH-TWX9. Hope u can review the Audio Technica coz for me it's a sleek looking earbuds with both touch control and physical buttons (stem design) and sounds amazing making it close enought to the Momentum TW4!! it's an underrated earbuds.

Hey James hope all's been well bro. I just had a quick question. I wanted to love the Sennheiser TW4 but the call quality and transparency killed it for me. The call quality was horrible for everyone listening on the other end of the calls and they always went to max ANC while on calls no matter what I tried and only turned transparency back on when the calls were hung up. Not sure if I've been doing anything wrong or its just how the earbuds work but I was wondering if you might have any tricks or tips to fix it or if maybe you've had similar issues too?
No Bang & Olufsen EX, really? I rank them higher than my Sony XM5 and M4. But I like the Sonys overall for the software and sound. But B&O EX as best sound period (not as good software-wise).

@@johng9207 amazing sound and features wise and battery too, people hate the chunky case but it's one of the sturdiest and safest cases I've used. But I had a chat with google support and they said the earphones might have some compatibility issues with pixel phones because they auto connect perfectly fine with my old Samsung s21 fe or my dad's s23 ultra or my mum's iPhone 13. I've raised this issue with Sennheiser but other than this minor compatibility flaw I'm loving them.
I had exactly the same issue with the glue of the drivers mesh on the MTW3, on the left pod, with the same consequence of lowered sound. I'm wondering if it's because of the heat or durability.

My Momentum 3 quit working twice and I threw them away. I like the Momentum 4 but they are not at the top like most reviewers are saying in my opinion.
There are a couple of problems not mentioned in any reviews. Headphones cannot be connected to win 11 PC . In release notes for firmware 5.3.5 it says it should fix just that but I have 3 PC (DEL, Lenovo and ASUS) and it does not show in list of available devices when I put them in pairing mode. Also on the Pixel phone (I have Pixel Fold) they will not connect automatically after the pairing. When you take them out of the case they will briefly connect and then disconnect. You will have to tap them in the Bluetooth list in order for them to connect. So they reminded me on TWS beginnings (before AirPods were the thing) Fantastic sound and ANC but they have really bad connection issues

My AirPods Pro 2’s went from sounding ok to sounding stellar once I got aftermarket foam tips from Amazon that improved the seal immensely and therefore made the sound immensely better. Like a night and day difference especially in the bass response. The right fit and comfort are the most important aspect of iems so don’t just write off your IEM’s as trash if you feel like the fit sucks. Tip rolling especially in a quality set it IEM’s is highly underrated meanwhile the right fit is the difference between “Meh to “ OMG how do these APP2’s sound so much better? Are they the best wireless IEM’s on the market? Probably not, but if you have an iPhone, taking other features into account, the choice is clear. USB-C APP2’s are underrated cause people think it’s just Apple 🐑 buying them who tend to live giving Apple their money but for $199,99 which I regularly see them discounted to at places they’re a steal.

You guys need to fix the auto connect on pixel phones. It doesn't auto pair with pixel. Works flawlessly with other devices

The Liberty 4 does have noise cancelling. It's a different version

Got these today and they are amazing. I don't know what happened but they sound brilliant out of the box and even more with the EQ. I use a third party EQ app and the sound is AMAZING!!

I only care about call quality and mics because I'm on a lot of phone calls everyday and I want something to block all my background noises when I'm on a phone call. I don't listen to music at all so I don't care about the sound. Price also is not an issue I can pay up to 300 bucks. So which earbud would you personally recommend me to buy?
No worries! The Beats Studio Buds + is the best at blocking out background noise. A pair like the EMEET Air Flow has a boom mic attachment which is the best Iv'e tested

The one plus buds 3 are literally since a steal look how high they rank on almost everything for that price wow. The momentums 4 are cool but for the price the one plus buds 3 are the clear choice

My momentum 3 has been the buggiest POS TWS I've ever owned. They sound pretty good though.
It's actually the same product as the Sennheiser Momentum 3, but with just software updates that masquerade as hardware updates, Sennheiser and Bose are fighting the same battle, that of recycling and zero 0 evolution 🤧

The Momentum 3s are great! I bought them 2 weeks ago and they sound superb!! I would recommend the 3s over 4s due to the price. Although there is meant to be issues with the 3s, which i havent experienced yet and hopefully never will
I bought the 3 like 2 months ago and they already broke down. sent them back to the shop now waiting for the 4. if yours ever break, ask for a new model (4) instead of 3

The ones bought at release (MTW3) worked for the most part all great, the most issues were with the products sold later on so there is a chance you'll have issues.
I've had mine for almost 2 years (close to release) and they still work perfectly fine.

That shit made me chuckle considering mine just went bust on me after a year of use. I am sending em back, and probably gonna upgrade with the Momentum 4s, I can't listen to anything else I am so used to Sennheiser's sound signature they just sound incredible. Everything else is either weird or a downgrade when it comes to sound quality.

I hope you review more headphones ITF, including some wired. For those of us using these various ear speakers who want good sound on lowest dollar amount, reviewers rarely hit the important comparisons adequately. Example: better product with dull GRAPHIC EQ options and nice default tuning for rock/metal, electric guitars, sax, voice, string sections-particularly for the chug and growl of extreme metal guitars.

New MTW4s, right bud has now gone dead when I’ve been out walking twice. Returning it to the case seems to reset it but I don’t want the case with me if I’m just getting my steps in and why should Ijust in case the earphones fail?

It's always changing. AirPods Pro 2 for editing, Bose QC Ultra or Mom 4 when training. PerL Pro or Az80 for intricate listening

Agree with your ears and placement of Sennheisers at the top. TMW3 and 4 both outperform all other earbuds I’ve tested but a wide margin. I haven’t tested the Denons yet.

One problem that I had with previous TW3 was the flawed aptX Adaptive implementation. A well implemented aptX Adaptive is supposed to seamlessly adjust variable sound quality. But in case of Sennheiser even smallest signal disturbance (for instance when walking on a busy street) would cause the algorithm to drop the sound quality like a rock - resulting in audibly decreased, almost mono-like sound with lower volume, that would take multiple seconds to recover. It made aptX Adaptive pretty much useless for anything except home listening. I've never experienced anything similar with other buds supporting aptX adaptive. I got rid of my TWS3 eventually but i miss their sound cause it was really great when the connection was stable. I'm kind of thinking giving TW4 a chance but wonder whether you've noticed something similar to what described above? It only affects aptX Adaptive, no other codecs.
I had no issue with the pairing issue (M3s) you had experienced personally.

Jabra Elite 10 is so underrated. If it wasn't for my JBL Live Pro 2's I had def kept them.

I've been using these quit a bit now and I've been using the multi point connection and I've been able to auto switch between my phone and my TV just by going into my phone and start watching a movie and it will auto connect to my phone and disconnect from my TV but when I do vice versa what's on my phone will pause.

Had to return my Momentum 3 after 13months just wouldnt charge or play anymore. Thankfully had the 2 year warranty! A shame because I loved the sound out of those. Had no idea it was such a widespread fault hey.

Hello, I used mtw2 before and I was extremely satisfied. I was cycling for hours and it still did not fall out of my ears.
mtw2 broke down, they sent me mtw3, it didn't fit my ear at all and it was falling out of my ear while doing sports.
I had the same problems with Airpods pro 2 and sold the product

Have you tested the Denon PerL Pro's. I tested these when they where the Nura True Pro. Against Sennheiser Momentum 3. The Nura where fantastic. I have the Klipsch Sixes speakers with 200w continuious and 400w max. The Nura's sounded every bit as good it not better. I also have Hifiman HE400 planar magnetics with a headphone amp. The Nura's where fare better in every aspect.

Currently i have the Sennheiser TW4 and the Audio Technica ATH-TWX9. Hope u can review the Audio Technica coz for me it's a sleek looking earbuds with both touch control and physical buttons (stem design) and sounds amazing making it close enought to the Momentum TW4!! it's an underrated earbuds.

Hey James hope all's been well bro. I just had a quick question. I wanted to love the Sennheiser TW4 but the call quality and transparency killed it for me. The call quality was horrible for everyone listening on the other end of the calls and they always went to max ANC while on calls no matter what I tried and only turned transparency back on when the calls were hung up. Not sure if I've been doing anything wrong or its just how the earbuds work but I was wondering if you might have any tricks or tips to fix it or if maybe you've had similar issues too?
No Bang & Olufsen EX, really? I rank them higher than my Sony XM5 and M4. But I like the Sonys overall for the software and sound. But B&O EX as best sound period (not as good software-wise).

@@johng9207 amazing sound and features wise and battery too, people hate the chunky case but it's one of the sturdiest and safest cases I've used. But I had a chat with google support and they said the earphones might have some compatibility issues with pixel phones because they auto connect perfectly fine with my old Samsung s21 fe or my dad's s23 ultra or my mum's iPhone 13. I've raised this issue with Sennheiser but other than this minor compatibility flaw I'm loving them.

My Momentum 3 quit working twice and I threw them away. I like the Momentum 4 but they are not at the top like most reviewers are saying in my opinion.
There are a couple of problems not mentioned in any reviews. Headphones cannot be connected to win 11 PC . In release notes for firmware 5.3.5 it says it should fix just that but I have 3 PC (DEL, Lenovo and ASUS) and it does not show in list of available devices when I put them in pairing mode. Also on the Pixel phone (I have Pixel Fold) they will not connect automatically after the pairing. When you take them out of the case they will briefly connect and then disconnect. You will have to tap them in the Bluetooth list in order for them to connect. So they reminded me on TWS beginnings (before AirPods were the thing) Fantastic sound and ANC but they have really bad connection issues
Hmm, this is a worry as I was looking seriously at these earbuds, but have a Pixel Fold and use a Win 11 PC at work.

I expect the problem is still there. No idea why they should cut out when you wiggle your jaw, but the MTW3 did that too.

My AirPods Pro 2’s went from sounding ok to sounding stellar once I got aftermarket foam tips from Amazon that improved the seal immensely and therefore made the sound immensely better. Like a night and day difference especially in the bass response. The right fit and comfort are the most important aspect of iems so don’t just write off your IEM’s as trash if you feel like the fit sucks. Tip rolling especially in a quality set it IEM’s is highly underrated meanwhile the right fit is the difference between “Meh to “ OMG how do these APP2’s sound so much better? Are they the best wireless IEM’s on the market? Probably not, but if you have an iPhone, taking other features into account, the choice is clear. USB-C APP2’s are underrated cause people think it’s just Apple 🐑 buying them who tend to live giving Apple their money but for $199,99 which I regularly see them discounted to at places they’re a steal.
100% the seal makes a huge difference to sound and especially noise canceling
