Brilliant. He's a legend of the game and brings out the very best in any team. His CV and results speaks for themself. So naturally talented as a coach and mentor.
There's a very valid theory that a good defensive coach would also make a fantastic 'Attack coach' too. The person who sets up a good defensive system invariably knows how to overcome one .
@@jbee9713 Nah man, we need him in New Zealand with the All Blacks. Especially after France win next years World Cup. Been watching this legend since his Wigan days.
It’s always been this way. We were doing this thirty years ago. Only difference is, Shaun Edwards has made it important. It’s not simply an afterthought. We used to discuss blitz defence half an hour before the game or in training during the week for ten minutes. Edwards has made a career out of it.
@@dasrhinegold I think they look down on us less and less by the day. I was watching St Helens vs Wigan from 2010 yesterday. I saw Paul Deacon (Sale head coach) vs Martin Gleeson (Wasps attack coach) Then there's Sean Long (Quins for a bit) Mike Forshaw (Sale) Andy Farell and Shaun Edwards. League is influencing Rugby Union and not the other way around. And I love Union by the way!!! Love both codes. Most Union folks don't even know it's being done.
@@usarugbyleagueunionfan I'm the same. Prefer League but that's because I grew up with it. Union is more technical and detailed. League arguably faster but both great sports
nicknj80 I watched a video today from BT sport regarding defenses and they talked about the onus on Rugby League schemes. It was awesome. I watch both codes extensively. Love them both yet I’m more of a League fan. Wayne Bennett reminds me so much of New England Patriots coach Bill Bellicheck.
ive always played both codes extensively. RU is a great game to play. i suspect the scots are happy to get Shaun Wane on board. they will play tough and defend intelligent. defence wins prizes.
Steve Diamond was not the answer for us. I'm happy with Paul Deacon so far. Those early losses to Newcastle and Worcester were devastating. We needed those. Faf has not been himself this year. Out forwards are subpar.
Coz eng wouldn't meet his demands. He wanted to coach Wasps while coaching Eng. And RFU didn't want that. He messed Wales around as well. Not sure how well he'd work with EJ. Seems to be v good.
Funny enough because France is now using this type of rushing defense. And Edwards is not even here yet! I am pretty sure they are going to do a great job and that France will become a serious contender again!
Hey mate. I'm a part of California Rugby League. LA Mongrels. Our coach is from Yorkshire. Our team is comprised of 95% Union guys and he's teaching them League defenses. It's helping them at their Union clubs. Check out our Instagram and Twitter page.

+morgan owen Oh I don't believe me. England missed a trick big time and good on Wales for offering him something better, something which isn't an insult to all of his experience. Why the heck would you offer someone like SE a Saxons role?!?! Anyway, Wales are reaping the rewards of his genius!
This was the most useful rugby vid I’ve come across on UA-cam well played Shaun Edwards
Could listen to Shaun talk all day. He’s changed the game.

what a class rugby league player Shaun was.
Shaun Edwards is the man, end of.
England miss a trick with him. Well done France in getting him
I've said this before. We are the richest RFU and we should give him what he wants. Let's bring him home haha!

Here we see the master in the art of defence
Who else is here after les bleus completely destroyed England?
7 points is hardly destruction is it ? England won by 36 points last year..
@@mickhawford4745 England decided to turn down 9 points in the 1st half alone too!
Or just before...
Brilliant again BT Sport Rugby.
what a hero!
So a defensive line that’s used by pretty much every rugby league team then!

Good on him. There was obviously something lacking given the success he's had with Wales no?
Edward's showing RU what he and others learn when they are 12 years old in Wigans RL Academy.......
Mr Frisky Exactly, yet Yawnion and the RU fawning media still sneers and looks down it’s nose at RL .
Does dallaglio still deal charlie

Rugby league defence there
It’s no secret the Shaun spends time learning from Wayne Bennett in the Australian NRL

nicknj80 Winning the Grand Final with Wigan against the Wire was the cherry on top. No pun intended.
No it is completely different.
That isn't the case. Australia would be number one if the league defence was similar to Union.
This man is the man
Wigan's gain is union's loss although who can blame him for heading back to his home club.
That man is brilliant
He means "15" from the side right?
This is basically rugby league basics brought to RU. Makes sense as to why Union fans are amazed by seriously basic stuff!
True.
those volunteers will now be the best in their ametur team
Wish he'd coach Sale.

To be fair even in this world of cross code support the RFU would never let a League take the reins. I just don't see that.
Let’s hope he trains France would help us out lofs
