      I’ve heard basically the same praise from everyone I know who’ve read that book! It will probably be a priority read later this year.

    This was a great book shelf tour, Trav. A nice arrangement and presentation of books on the shelves and an interesting selection of titles as well. I really enjoyed it. 🙂
    I definitely relate to the ‘no more big book hauls’ rule at this point. I got a bit carried away in the last couple of years buying second-hand books. This led to a bit of a wake-up call just before Christmas, realizing that I have enough books to last me at least the next few years (I’m also a slow reader) and not much space left to accommodate further purchases.

      @@ATPennington Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I’ve got to focus on what I’ve got now and it will still last me through probably all of next year as well.

    It's actually pronounced BO-OKAY. It's Bo from the Dukes of Hazzard. There is a whole series of book ends related to citizens of Hazzard County. I have Luke, Uncle Jesse, Roscoe and Cleetus. Daisy is the hardest to find for obvious reasons. The OK is the secret Hazzard sign off when they use their CB radios. Any other fake facts you need, I got plenty I can make up on the spot.

    • @Travsbookshelf
      @Travsbookshelf  15 днів тому +2

      @@someothercharacter 😂😂 That fake fact actually makes sense! After all those jumps inside the General Lee it should only seem obvious to state his wellbeing over CB radio. Too bad about Daisy, man. All those books out there held up by her bookends are probably read by sporting masters…

      The only things I can recall about that show are "flying car" and "Those Duke boys are at it again!" Well, I kind of remember Daisy, but considering my age at the time, that was probably comparable to an Australopithecene regarding the splendor of the night sky with little comprehension of what it sees.

    I think the book ends are saying it’s okay to have b.o. Very strange agenda to be pushing. Super cool set up man! They look really good and aesthetically pleasing.

    You have to read the bookends in an anti-clockwise direction and with four-dimensional perception, kind of like those tentacle monsters from the movie "Arrival." On Planet Glakorix, OBOK is the name of a pretentious, "artisinal" manufacturing concern, and the "word" conveys a sense of souless, cutting edge innovation tempered by the guileless authenticity of the native residents of ... wherever ... who are most likely shackled and toiling away for room and board in OBOK's sprawling labor compounds. Apparently, some things are, dare I say it ... universal. 😔
    Enjoyed seeing your setup. Plenty of great books, and its all organized very sensibly. I think I've already mentioned how much I like the look of that hardcover horror anthology. However, ìt sounds like Joffrey is a freakin' diva. Lucky for him, he has the cool factor of being a Stegosaurus on his side. 😁 Have a nice weekend!

      @@BryanM.R.-prionic1 😂😂😂😂 oh my gosh, what a concept! That’s the best explanation for these bookends yet! Kudos to your talented imagination!
      And yes, Joffrey is a diva. Very aloof. Thank you for the kind praise of the shelves! It’s very basic but it works for a reader like me so it’s perfect.
