The way she talks about how the previous design doesnt work for her client is actually so respectful to the one who previously designed the space.
Exactly, I always wondered how previous designers of homes felt during shows when they’re like “This is absolutely hideous, we need to gut it”
@@mattkraig Depends what it is I think. If its just generic designing for commercial purposes, then theres not much soul in that to begin with, so they shouldn't care too much. Many artists work for people who don't understand design, but hugely influence the process. These artists know the end result is bad or at least not as good as it could be.

Yes! Good on her. I noticed that too and I thought it was so cool and respectful. I like my friends and visitors to take their shoes off when they come in my place and I know this may sound strange ...but it makes me feel like we are communicating better, relaxed and there is some kind of bond or grounding going on.
Yes! Unless we are going to the backyard it is respectful to take the damn shoes off

The storage unit in the living room, the dresser in the bedroom and the bar height 'dining' table for four were my favorite pieces. Oh yeah, the blue velvet swivel chairs were really nice as well. Who else wanted to see the upstairs patio? I certainly did.
I'm single guy and I'm definitely stealing all the design elements from this video. Love the wall colours in the living room and bedroom.

I love the kitchen update. The cabinet color seemed so bad in the before. She really made it work with the new color pallet.
I love that counter height table behind the sofa in the living room. I'm going to do that in my home for when I have guests and they want to eat and watch television especially sports.
Loving the mcm vibes she's thrown in here. My fav is the vintage bar area and the mirrors above it. Plus softening up with some low maintenance plants! Kudos to the designer!

What I love most about Natalie Chong's design approach is that it's not pretentious. There are so many designers, especially on this channel, that are obnoxious and pretentious. They talk about their travels and picking up pieces along the way when they summered in blah, blah, blah, or they name drop some architect/designer with four accent marks just in their first name! Annoying! Natalie keeps it real, designs in a way that is relatable, and accessible. IDK why there are some professionals in this field who still feel like hiring an interior decorator is part of an exclusive club.

Wow I love everything she did in this space! Very thoughtfully geared to single living. No one honestly uses a huge dining table. Combining it with the living area was very efficient use of space. The palette in the bedroom is great too, looks amazing! And the kitchen also feels very high end yet functional. Would love to come back to a handsome bachelor's apartment and see such a thoughtfully designed and personalized home! Lol
This is a really wonderful bachlor pad. Masculine but still lots of clean lines and wonderful touches. When I buy my condo in Toronto I'm calling Natalie!

I LOVED what you did with the space. Your idea for the seating area behind the couch was awesome with the bar to the side. Way to optimize the more heavily used area to sit.

I had my sofa table second as bar seating behind the couch in my last house and it was used more than my island or dining room table! Great place to sit and eat while watching the game... No one like eating from a plate while sitting on a sofa!
I didn't have the layout for this at my current loft but was able to build bar seating behind my theater chairs in the media room!!

I LOVE THIS DESIGN. SO COOL AND MASCULINE. MY ONLY CRITICISM IS THE MEDIA WALL. I WOULD'VE GIVEN IT A BLACK OR DARK WALL BECAUSE THE TV STICKS OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB. DESIGN 101 ALWAYS SAYS THAT A TV SHOULDN'T BE YOUR FOCAL POINT.

I don't like the living room per the large tv, though I get it would be large, but I would prefer if it was cased, or somehow blended in the room instead of becoming the focal of the room. I love....LOVE the bedroom. The dark colors balance with the light through the window. I love the organic materials and more so the art of wood that adds a different slant yet still organic.
I liked the previous bookshelves.

This is super stunning! The only thing that seemed slightly off was the shape of the microwave, which seemed shorter in height and longer in width than a conventional microwave, but maybe that was done to accommodate the shape and size of the overhead cabinets. Otherwise, I would move there in a heartbeat! :-)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nice home however, one come to expect in a high caliber home like this one a gas-stove chef-like style not an electric, but then again maybe your client doesn't cook often, although for resale it would be an awesome option to include one.
