Women are great at comedic acting, they seem less accomplished at writing and stand up for whatever reason (thus the women aren’t funny idea), but I think they excel at comedic acting as much as men maybe more. Maybe this will all change in the future, but I gotta say that very few women standups are actually near as good as the best men, the women on like for example the Daily Show have never been anywhere near as good as the better men (and rarely even as good as the shittiest men lol), and I’ve heard that very few women writers exist on comedy movies/shows (I think Sarah Silverman was a rare exception at SNL IIRC). I did think Garfunkel and Oates (Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome) were/are pretty funny/good as a comedic band duo. I don’t know if this is just something that will take time to change with social evolution or if women on average are just less funny for biological/social reasons like amenable to change in the foreseeable future or what. But I think they’ve made lots of progress in the last 20 years as women born in the late 1960s, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, and I suppose now (or at least soon) the 2000s etc. and onwards who’ve grown up in more egalitarian worlds mature and develop in their careers.
I used to quote 0:48 all the time and none of my friends understood… it is at this moment I should point out I live in a small town in Scotland so nobody really knows what snl is but I felt like the comment section of this video needed to hear this
The moment that is stuck in my head since 2018 is when Kenon, in 'Lobster diner', sings "Who am I?" and it's just this sentence. John Mulaney is a genius for writing this masterpiece.
The part that i love is kristen wiig told maya rudolph that she pulled her weave but it makes me laugh. And the other part was maya told kristen that she choked her dog.
Is Kristen Wiig the only person alive who can continue delivering lines while splitting a gut? (Or whatever you call it these days.) Edit: thanks for posting!
Randomly came upon this video out of boredom, but had to stop when I heard “who’s the young man who passed suddenly? My frienddd” because my best guy friend passed away suddenly in October, and today I’ve thought about him so much more than I do usually everyday. He was moving to a new place & was so excited to do so but ended up passing away in his room a few weeks before actually moving out of the house.. so I like to visit him at his house because I just feel him strongly there not the cemetery but with all the memories we’ve shared there it’s hard at to drive up to it so it’s not often that I go there, before I left work I randomly thought I should go see him tonight but needed to relax a little before & I somehow ended up here… this just lets me know for a fact he’s still here watching me and giving me any sign he can to let me know ♥️ I’ve literally never watched snl skits on UA-cam so yeah hi Derrick!!!!!
not sure, but this is the link if you want to investigate further! it's probably designed by the snl music team. Murdur Durdur: ua-cam.com/video/qaKZi6p6sxg/v-deo.html
i remember whenSNL first started . it was mildly funny then only because it was so off beat and weird compared to everything else . As the years went on it just became embarrassingly boring .

The women of SNL truly are such comic geniuses. Can't get enough of them.

"I am so embarrassed! I thought he provided the dish."
Love how Kate’s Long Island medium is basically just her Edie Falco as Lucy in “you’re a rat bastard Charlie Brown”
The Amy Adams’ sketch kills me. She’s perfect for such a sketch. They really utilized her dramatic acting skills and her comedic timing well.

Fred Armisen's Cali bro accent is perfect 😭🤚
Lol “Cuzzintz” and “ix-huzbintz” ...i loved Tina Fey’s philly accent and she’s definitely perfected it, but that sketch was great.
