DEATH FOR FILIPINOS IN THE MOUNTAINS (Philippines Unique Stories)

Поділитися

  • Опубліковано 9 кві 2018
  • Death here in the Philippines is dealt with in different ways. In Sagada there are a lot of unique traditions and stories when it comes to death and how the local Filipinos pay their final respects.
    I have not only found it fascinating how Filipino deal with death, but have become completely inspired how they can still draw happiness from situations that are so sad and depressing.
    This is a unique look at Sagada and how the locals deal with death.
    It may be a massive tourist draw, but I found it very inspiring how my guide Jane interacted about it.

    Sagada is unforgettable, winding roads, beautiful mountains, rice terraces, caves, waterfalls and the cold weather. Hey, I even saw my kids and relatives at the backround while the camera was panned at hanging coffins. Sad i didnt see myself in the vlog, but i met you personally thats what makes it unforgettable man! Gid bless always!

    I love your cenematics and drone shots. First time to see Sagada at that angle. My grandmother was put in a cave too. I wonder if she told you that for that year of mourning, the widow, immediate brother or sister has to wear black all year until the last cleansing ritual. Then and only then the widow or widower can remarry if they want. So much history of life and death. Thanks for sharing the footage.

    Visiting the resting places of loved ones on All Souls Day is a Christian concept. They say once you drink a fresh brewed coffee black, you never go back (to 3 in 1). Nothing beats fresh brewed coffee, freshly baked bread, and the fresh cool clean mountain air in the morning. Did I say fresh enough? lol. Kulas living the life (after learning about death lol).

      @joelgonzaga3899 6 років тому

      I agree. I was once an instant coffee drinker. But when I tried the freshly ground and brewed coffee, that really changed my idea towards coffee. What's more interesting is that when you try to drink the coffee with no sugar, you will notice distinct differences in their tastes, i.e, bean variety, brewing process and where it's been grown. I now love coffee with no sugar.
      P.S. You can also try it with a dash of cinnamon.

    • @Al_Moranas
      @Al_Moranas 6 років тому +1

      Totally yes. The subtleties and nuances in taste, flavor profiles, aroma, and even mouth-feel is what 3-in-1 coffee drinkers cannot appreciate. Black is always better because it is pure and unadulterated. Haha I can't start the day without at least one cup. It's even a ritual for me haha...I currently use a French press. Kudos to you and enjoy your cup of coffee wherever you are.

    You're right kuya Kulas. To us death isn't something you should be afraid of, it's just a part of life. You shouldn't chase after death, and you shouldn't fear it. the best thing to do is to celebrate life and treasure it so you won't have any regrets in the afterlife. I guess that is also why we celebrate everything with feasts and merry making. 😁😁😁
