Jimin mentioned that the songs were made during the covid era. If any member who was visibly affected by it , it was him. Its his inner feeling and how he coped with it .I love how it is nothing like set me free or serendipity. He's a true artist. BTW you have to react to alone and face off . both will elevate your appreciation for him. Even the hidden track letter is amazing. Quality over quantity indeed.
I will say, as a queer person, this song hit me straight in the gut. She asks him to stay but he goes to the club. Where he drinks and has fun and keeps saying “I’d rather be lost in the lights don’t wake me up”. It’s giving…the club being the only place you can be yourself. He doesn’t want it to end, he doesn’t want to wake up because that’s where he is. It’s giving me in my early 20s going to gay clubs and it being the only place I felt alive. Not saying that’s what HE is meaning per say but that’s what the song means for me.

It's inspired by the movie called 'Like Crazy' mixed with his feelings during the pandemic. The "she says..." in the beginning of the song is referring to a line by the female character in the movie. So that line is just a movie reference. The voices you hear in the beginning and end is also audio from the movie. I watched it yesterday because he said it was inspired by his favorite movie so I have it fresh in my head. :)
