RIP Lenny...
Talk about perfect conditions. No better feeling than when it all comes together! That final image at 6:36 is amazing
Thanks Brian!! I really appreciate that 👊🏼
EPIC, EPIC, EPIC! Arizona Highways Magazine should be doing the Perea edition in January! Those are absolutely beautiful images. 🤩
Haha I wish!! Thanks Richard!
DUUUUUUDE !!!
Absolutely delighted for you man !! Images need to be printed BIG & framed !! 👏👏
Thanks my friend!! Definitely a portfolio image that’s going up on the wall!
Those photos were 2 legit 2 quit!!!! As was that Gambel's Quail. 😁😍
Haha thanks buddy! Yeah that quail was actually pretty brave. He wasn’t skittish of me at all.
Congratulation for capturing amazing moment!
Thank you! Definitely an amazing morning. 🙏🏼
Great moody shots capturing the rare atmospheric condition in the Superstitions!
Thank you!
Epic! Well done Mike, Your sacrifice of no breakfast seemed to have paid off. 😊
Haha thanks Michael!
Lenny the lens spot and his gang 🤣🤣🤣 good one Mike👍 Lenny's looking for Gold in them there hills. Great images, dam, that feeling of being in the right spot at the right time, no other feeling like it 😀🤙
Thanks Dave! Lenny the rascal trying to ruin my video 🤣
Wow!!! Just amazing shots!!! Thank you for excellent content!!!
Fantastic conditions and you captured it so well. Great photos, Mike.
Thanks Don!
Super 👏👏👏2 gets my vote.
Thanks man!
Nice photos Mike, love the desert and mountains!
What a fun morning. Wonderful images.
Thanks David! So much fun!
This is a landscape photography dream
Definitely felt like it!
Your Superstition pictures are some of my favorites. And I am not just talking about these but others you have done also. Some portrait photographers have certain models that are their muse. You have the Superstition Mountains.
Thank you so much man. As much as I’ve been there, I still don’t feel like it’s enough. I really appreciate the kind words. I feel like it is my home
Fog in a desert. When you say it happens twice a year, I was a little surprised by that. I thought it would be even rarer than that. Beautiful images and definitely something quite unique.
Thank you!! Yeah the twice a year was a guess. It’s definitely rare. Maybe on average it’s less.
@@PereaPhotography Way less! This is the first time I have seen fog like this in the 15 years I have been in Phoenix.
Wow, beautiful!
Stunning shots Mike especially the wide cropped image. One of my favorite experiences was renting one of the cabins and shooting the Milky Way over the peaks. Love your vids!
Thanks Michael! That is definitely on my to do list.
Glad you got out during the fog. I knew I was missing out, but couldn't think of any morning shots that aren't silhouettes. And gas is too expensive to just drive around hoping to find that one great shot.
Good going, on finding a few shots!
Thank you!
There’s no better way to start a day then getting perfect conditions at a location. Beautiful!
Thanks Steve!
Nice work man, those were pretty epic conditions. Think the photo of the Superstitions framed on either side by the Saguaro was my favorite, nice work framing that one.
Thanks Mike!
Loved the quail cameo!
😁
All images are brilliant! I saw the rain also and knew conditions has great possibilities but Ahwatukee had no fog to speak of so stayed home. Kicking myself for not exploring the valley as I could've ended up at the Superstitions also :( P.S. Nature Valley bars and a x2 travel coffee mugs, one from trip out, one for trip home...my remedy when I wake up and decide to bolt out the door with camera. Lovely stuff!
Great idea! I usually bring a cliff bar or something but I was in a hurry 🤣
Amazing Dude ! I am so happy you caugth this truly special morning.
Your images at the end of this video are so beautiful !
Stay safe.
Thank you so much!
@@PereaPhotography Is it possible to follow you on flickr or insta ?
thanks for sharing your passion Mike! Really nice images 👌
Thanks Jose!
Wonderful compositions!
Thanks Steve!
Oh man...I SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT THAT DAY! I was out in Fountain hills and I just couldn't get a clear shot of what was going on over there without the buildings and houses...I got a few that were alright...next time...I'm going there!
Really nice shots! Worth missing a breakfast for.
Agreed! and thank you!
woow ... man, I completely understand your feeling. I am a photographer myself and I don't fit into my skin when I see a unique scene.
Amazing as always Mike.
Thanks Jackie!
Excellent...merciii😍
Last Monday (same foggy day)we went for a hike to the green thumb in Aj. It was beautiful. I promised I would never go outdoors with out my camera. Keeping my promise on Friday's hike I got a Bobcats on top of a saguaro. I really learned my lesson. Love your Chanel.
Merry Christmas 🎅
Awesome!! I’ve seen a few photos with bobcats on saguaros. Such funny animals. I bet it was an amazing sight!
Amazing shots brotha! I love your work!
Thank you!
Great shots Mike, it is so much fun when you get amazing conditions!
Thanks Jim! It definitely is!
Also…. Loved your excitement.
Thanks Jason! Man was it exciting!
Amazing!! Thanks for sharing what I missed!
Thanks Greg!
Absolutely epic!
Thanks Andy!
You nailed it, Mike!
Thanks David!
So happy for you to get those rare shots. Loved the mono versions too!
Thanks so much Juanita! Yeah I really like the BW photo as well!
Absolutely incredible!!!!!!!!
Thank you Gary!!
A true artist
Thank you Joe!
Mr. Perea, you have made me so jealous. I am out here in Arizona, and I missed being able to go out and shoot that day. Fog is so rare out here, and if I had not had a cold that day, I believe we would have met right there where you did that shoot at Superstition. Congratulations on getting all those wonderful images!
Well if you ever see me out there come say hello! I’ve been in similar situations where I couldn’t go out during these rare times but when it happens, it’s unforgettable! Thanks so much for watching and hopefully you’ll be able to get out next time. Hope you’re feeling better!
@@PereaPhotography Thank you so much. I would love to see you out here someday. I love your work and I am so happy to be a subscriber! 👍
I had to work that day. The fog was epic up here on the north side of Phoenix.
Super cool!
Thank you!
Magical captures ❤ you put in so much work to get these, impressive dedication
Thank you so much Yoanna!!!
Wow, very nice really enjoyed this video!
Thanks Steve!
I live in the St. Johns area and I know how you felt about getting this shot. It was my first time experiencing fog in AZ and let me just say it seemed to hang around forever that morning. I was on my way to work and it took me longer to get to work because I was stopping every five minutes to take a photo. Love the video
Haha it’s so awesome when it happens. I would love to spend more time in the St John’s area and Showlow/Springerville. Thanks for watching!
@@PereaPhotography it is a beautiful area and i cannot wait to make down to your area to shoot it will be epic. I have been watching you vids for awhile and they really helped me out with my own photography for sure. Your five minute Milky Way vid is one of my favorites and I recommend to people who are first trying out that genre of photography
Beautiful series of images. Luck favors the prepared and you got it!!
Thanks man and I love that saying. It should go on a coffee mug 🧐👊🏼
@@PereaPhotography a t-shirt and a hat too!
Awesome images. Truth be told, until you pointed it out, I didn't notice Lenny and his friends. The UA-cam rendition or my laptop screen kind of blunted the effect. Carry on! 👍🥂
haha Lenny that little rascal. Thanks buddy!
Stunning mate! I think I do prefer the colour version if I’m honest. Beautiful shots though. Hope you and Chris have a great Xmas and break
Thanks man I appreciate that! Merry Christmas from our family to yours 🙏🏼
Insane conditions! Beautiful shot man 👏
Thanks man!
Beautiful pictures son!!
Thank you!
Wow. Congratulations. Was an EPIC in Real Life Experience
NICE!!!
🙏🏼
Awesome conditions! I returned to AZ, where we have a place in Gilbert, from Switzerland for a few weeks back in June and the Superstitions were the first place I took my camera. But no fog, obviously :) Great shots and thanks for making me a little homesick. There are no Taco Tuesdays in Switzerland, as you know!
Thanks Jeff!!! And yeah Switzerland is awesome in a lot of ways, but they need to step it up with taco Tuesday! But, they do have the best chocolate in the world, so it’s not so bad.
Canyon-lake would have been awesome with fog.
Yeah that’s going to be my next goal if I ever get these conditions again!
@@PereaPhotography you might see me there too! LOL... Probably in a year 🙄😆
Someone told me that when the Dew Point is the same or very close to the temperature, = FOG. Checked it out a couple of times in the past year or so, seems to be true in my neck of the USA. YMMV
Yep that’s exactly what happened!
I need that cap. 😂 where did you get it?
Haha I don’t remember but if you just google it I’m sure it will come up! That’s what I did. 👊🏼
What trail do you prefer when shooting Superstition?
I don't think I have a favorite. I've hiked all over and just try to go somewhere different every time!
F16 is not a bit too much? You can lose details with a such small diafragm.
No it isn’t too much. But that’s about the smallest aperture I will use.
