If a 1000 watt amp is drawing that much that your lights are dimming something is majorly wrong.. either battery and/or alternator is bad or going out. Or bad connections. I have a 5000 watt amp pushing 2 15s with no dimming..
@@c.l.pitman1760 what is the rms? also, it depends on if your alternator is strong enough to cover for the draw on power. my headlights dim on 1200rms and another 300rms for component speakers.

@@c.l.pitman1760 your vehicle probably has a big 3 wire upgrade or a capacitor bud. 1600 watt amp made my truck dim a lot. Depends on the amps efficiency and how much power your sub draws/ size of the coil and motor.
You can get headlight dimming even with 250 watt amps (not as much as bigger systems of course) but change all your lights to LEDs. They use less power. No dimming 👍
