I understand why the father decided to be strict with the mother financially, but he clearly has no idea how much things actually cost. He really expects her to feed four adults 2 meals a day during the week and 3 during the weekend on $50, but is wondering where the meat is, why there aren't many side dishes, and no seasoning? I'm glad the mother played him like that.
In a way, I'm glad he put her on a budget in order to teach her a lesson that she cannot just blow away her husband's hard-earned money on things he doesn't know about. Meanwhile, if that $50 wasn't enough, she could have just told him she needed more money. She's too absorbed into other people's business and meeting Phillip that she's forgetting about her family's basic needs, not to mention that she needs to go to the hospital to get her mental health checked out. If I were her, I would quit wasting time on trying to get her daughter into getting back with Phillip and would focus more on getting the house in order. However, that would be difficult to do considering her mental situation. It seems that her judgment has already been affected by it. I'm sick of her arguing with everyone else.

Gets a paternity test because he doesn't trust Areum. Grabs Areum's arm even though she says no. Lies to Areum and her mom snd even her aunt. Conspires with people who he knows hate Areum. While watching at a presentation, it is rude to interrupt someone before they finish their presentation. You are supposed to ask questions when the speaker asks for it after his/her presentation. This kind of behaviour would be called out in my country.
Bet you wouldn't say this if you were in Aruem's shoes. That man cheated and dumped her for another woman. Aruem threw away her pride and begged him to stay yet he refused. She dropped out of school to have a baby, of which she raised alone, that in turn destroyed her dad's opportunity to achieve what he has lived all his life for.
