As kids in the 70s, me and neighborhood friends would camp out in the backyard and listen to these stories. It was even better if it rained for a scarier atmosphere.
We could catch them in SE PA from WOR NY ... it would fade in and out sometimes.
Nice! 😎
We loved listening as a child in Houston
These days I’m in New Jersey

Although old enough, I did not hear any of these, at the time, since I found them , I cannot stop. So really appreciate these👍🌸✌️
same here ! I discovered this a year ago here and I listen everyday two or three shows a day while I'm puttering around outside.these shows were broadcasting when I was a teenager but here in California we never heard of these shows they were all done in the midwest or Chicago and the cool thing is one of the leading actresses Mercedes mccambridge was my babysitter when I was 5 6 and 7 years old so it was really cool to hear her voice on one of these programs and recognizing it immediately
Grew up listening to these most nights back in the 80's right after the 11 o' clock news on our local country music radio station for years thanks to my grandparents whom I both lived and stayed with as a child. Right after tea and toast. Never felt safer sitting at the kitchen table listening to the show with them or hearing it softly playing from their bedroom every night. It almost brings me the same amount of peace and comfort listening today as an adult.
I'm the same! SO thankful to have found these wonderful broadcasts!
You know I usually say “goodnight from Atlanta but tonight I’m saying “goodnight from New York City” on vacation & still listening 🎧 ♥️
Traci, you are awesome. Safe travels.
Good for you!
Be safe out there
Have a great vacation. 🥰
I’m still listening from California- I listen everyday while I’m cooking or baking -this keeps me company
I love how some of these stories are adaptations of classics
Brilliant drama. Thanks for posting it.
addicted to these. excellent , all of them!!!
Great story Sir Doyle. You can be well pleased.
Thanks for reading and sharing this story.
Good night from the west of Ireland 👍
Up at 5.30am . Saw a new Edge . So I'm sat with my dog Millie listening .
That eerie intro music! Like a psychotic clown dance! AAAAAHHHHH!
Hi from Virginia!
I used to listen to these every night at bedtime on the radio.
Well, I totally slept thru this one last night! Here we go again!!!
I am entirely grateful to you!!
Ok. I listened to this one before going to bed, THREE TIMES! I got lost when the lady went to find her husband, Dr Brooks. After Dr. Brooks woke up in the hospital, the nurse, and then??? I kept getting mixed up right before the end!
I must say that the music scores in these theater shows, is really good!
Ok, fourth time, but I'll start from what I do know! Watch me fall asleep!
Good night from UpState New York..
Hope you got to the end before falling asleep..?!? 😴💃
@@GodISGood103 I never do! Usually, I'll take a break on a weekend day just to catch up with all the episodes I've fallen asleep to. It's the best thing I've found to put me to sleep, literally, within minutes! Before, I always had trouble falling asleep. Not any more! I hope you enjoy the plays, as well! Good night!
I've started listening to radio dramas more than I watched television and you know my imagination is a little more lively
EG Marshall had no idea that through UA-cam, we can listen anytime and anyplace!
This was an amazing story!
great stories!
Im saying goodnight from Manchester England..
Ok one more time. I'll start halfway thru this time LOL it's only 4 AM!
Thank you ❤️
Here we go again. Maybe I should start in the middle, but that's no fun! I think this is the one where Dr Brooks ends up in a looney bin! Good night from UpState New York!
Growing up in the seventies my mother introduced me to these it then led me to look further into the old time radio broadcast which has become a hobby of mine till this very day in my late 50s I also remember the Tom Bosley broadcast also for General Mills great time heightened my imagination
Amos n Andy? Fibber McGee and Molly? My parents listened to those growing up and am radio would replay every Christmas so I got to experience them too. Such good memories 🤍🤍
Love this series. My mother had recorded it on to cassette when she was stationed in West Germany. It aired on the Armed Forces Network.
So glad to see it uploaded on UA-cam and of course the website with episodes in mp3 format.
Just for fun - the short story this was based on was published in the year 1898.
£100 is worth £16,629.33 ($20,584.92) in 2023 spending power when adjusted for inflation.
Not too shabby for a day's labour..indeed.
Be blessed
I ENJOYED

Wow 😳 Lawyers will be Lawyering 😅😂
Wonderful story
Americans attempting British accents are hilarious.
*70s American actors😉😂
Well I'm going to say good night from New Jersey
I enjoyed it What an❤ emotional ending
This was one of the best plays I have heard this far, except at the very ending. I was confused, as to what happened to Brooks, since he was in a straight jacket, so who was that at the end, Faradey, or Brooks?
Was Marshall in 12 Angry Men
Yes, he played juror#4. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
12 Angry Men was a great movie.
The one who couldn't recall the details of the movie he saw.
💃
Bite sized audio does these also.
I like those too.
fucking amazing channel - if I could subscribe 100 times I would
Of course not
❤😮😅😢😮🎉❤
7.5/10
27 minutes 57 seconds... "Closet" - no Englishman _ever_ uses that word. (We would say cupboard). I'd give the actors 7/10 for a good effort at an English accent but it wouldn't pass muster for any longer than 2 or 3 seconds. The best English accent I've heard, is Forrest Whittaker in The Crying Game. His accent was a perfect south London representation. The worst accent (since the dawn of time) was Keanu Reeves in Dracula. How are English actors at putting on a USA accent? Hugh Laurie ("House") sounds reasonable but I'd like some feedback from a US citizen.
we suck at doing English accents !! hahaha and by the way have you heard Herman Munster do Russian accents? oh my goodness ! lol!!! actually you'd be surprised at how many of these shows are depicted to take place in the EU or in Russia . and what I find very amusing is since there are not very many young men actors on the show they have really old ones you can tell by their voice lol play the parts of a young man it's so funny!!
Robert Shaw , as a shark hunter in "Jaws", is my favorite British actor/ US accent performance. He would have won an Oscar for Quint, but he was too outspoken. (The network was afraid of a raunchy speech!! )Rest well Mr Shaw
😂😂😂
