17:33 I'm that one weirdo searching for David Cross in the search bar. That's how I found this podcast on UA-cam. I was like "I haven't checked on what David Cross is doing in a while, let me see if there's anything new" and there was
I seriously have been waiting forever for David to do anything like this. I seriously find him so damn funny and fun to listen too. He's way smarter then he gets credit for being
I am quite new to all this. I only knew the comedy circuit through Bill Hicks and George Carlin mostly. But i am glad that it looked into it more and discover you guys. I love Marc's natural character letting itself out through comedy. It is a really enjoyable interview. Thanks.
Watching these out of order based on the guests and this has been one of my favourites. Lots of great stories and they both seem to really enjoy each othters company.
I love how naturally this conversation just flows 😌 It's such a cool insight to have on the experiences that nobody else knows as well from such a cool time period. Touching in the earlier to the more recent stuff, just all intertwined. Definitely the interview(podcast episode) that initially caught my attention more than just mere curiously hearing along. (UA-cam has been shuffling and replaying these episodes for me and I am all on board for it ❤)
The beginning of this reminded me of David Steinberg's "psychiatrist office" sketch (you can find it on UA-cam), in which he would tell the incoming patient that he could sit anywhere he wanted to, and then look at him with disdain and say "unh, unh unh" when he chose certain chairs, BOOGA BOOGA!!
Great talk!! I’ve always been a fan of Mr. Show, and David’s specials! Same for Marc! Then when Marc started WTF, I really was interested in the stories of Marc, his friends, his peers, and his enemies. 😂. Great to hear the stories. They both seemed to enjoy it. Listening to Mark all these years I know he has always liked David a lot, treasured their history, and respected his comedy!! 😂❤️😂❤️😂❤️
i watch janeane G interview last week and had a rush of "i need to hear Gen X people talking together" energy didn't realize how much it chilled me out effortless
The Bobby Collins wikipedia entry has a section entitled Recognition, and it goes as follows: _Bobby Collins was nominated for a CableACE Award as well as for the American Comedy Awards 1997 “Stand-up Comic of the Year.” A New York Post reviewer described him as a “perfect fusion of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.”[citation needed]_
The f😂😂😂unniest part of this show is when both comics ask if they're a friend had died and when they got the information back they both really did not care at all. "Oh he's dead. Oh yeah sure. Anyway what was going on? lol 😂
I wanted to watch Night Court so I searched "Night Court" and amongst all the Night Court clips... David Cross' podcast, over and over. There is pride in that.
God i thought i couldnt love this anymore until the very end and Marc brings up another funny old story from back in the day. God this was fuckin incredible. Just discovered Dave had a pod literally today when i watched his and Batemans before this.
I first found David Cross via a cassette tape of his stand-up at some college in the late 90's. He's the only comic that makes me NOT eat when listening. Fucking funny.. not for the stupid..
Great guest; great show, Mr. Cross. Introduced to your work in Arrested Development, and having watched the Jason Bateman episode and now this one with Marc, I'm subbed and looking forward to catching up and staying current. Funny man.
I've only watched a couple episodes of this podcast, but to me, the funniest part is the beginning. The discussions over who's sitting where, and why, kills me!
i quit paying for netflix, because they suck. and if they are turning down David Cross or both David and Bob that's all the more reason to stay away from netflix.
technically I didn't quit, but just that the card I was using for the payment happened to naturally expire like almost a year ago, and I've yet to ever feel compelled to bother updating the account
Hey David you have always been and always will be my all time favorite comedian your comedy has brought me thru some horrible times in my life and for that I thank you
especially mr.show, has this weird recursive flow to it that can totally zone me out of whatever is going on in my head. edit: realized monty python also does the same. in-out-around then back again
While David mentioned he hadn't been real into Podcasts, I really hope this sticks around. The only other podcast I can remember enjoying this much was Norm Macdonald Live and that sadly only stuck around for 3 seasons (not counting the Netflix seasons).
I think he's talking about Carl LaBove RIP a fellow comedian and best friend of Sam Kinison, until he discovered Sam fathered his child behind his back, then he went nuts
That farting Gary sketch was so hilarious. It might have been a bonus feature for the Mr Show dvd's. Those four seasons of Mr Show and Shut Up You ****ing Baby influenced me a lot 🙌
This is youtube heroin for me. I have NEVER seen Marc Maron so relaxed and open. I think David Cross is becoming my favourite American comedian. From Stnahope to Louis, back to Stanhope and landing now on Cross. Weird journey.

Ha! That’s what I used to do in the pre-WTF days with Maron!
These two are comedy brothers soooo much common ground that it's a great chat to watch them enjoying eachother's company. A great one. 💎
Marc is one of the only comics who will talk shit about other comedians and I love him for it
Literally every other comic does that. It's a big part of what they do.
@@RickR69 no, literally every comic doesn’t lol they tend to be very polite when talking about each other publicly
I seriously have been waiting forever for David to do anything like this. I seriously find him so damn funny and fun to listen too. He's way smarter then he gets credit for being
People don’t think he’s smart?
So much grumpy stand-up energy the universe implodes.
Two of the most brilliant minds in comedy.
Thank you.
Agreed!
Amen
all this time listening to Marc, I never see him, it's gr8 to see him laugh whole heartedly! He's not such a bad guy.
I could listen to these guys for hours
Been listening to Maron since 2009 so great hearing you guys tell stories
This was so good. I could listen to the two of you tell stories for hours. Thank you!
Fixed the audio in record time!! Thank you! Great conversation.
Lol I was listening at work and I thought they might be censoring it because it always cut out when they talked about specific people 😂😂😂
David seems so happy and it warms my heart. I've always had empathy as he seems so intelligent that it takes work to 'play along' like this.
I am quite new to all this. I only knew the comedy circuit through Bill Hicks and George Carlin mostly. But i am glad that it looked into it more and discover you guys. I love Marc's natural character letting itself out through comedy. It is a really enjoyable interview. Thanks.
Jesus Christ…Cross and Maron!!!! NOW I WANT MORE!!!!!! What a great episode!!!!!
A crime this doesn't have more views. I hope this takes off for him. Always loved this dude
Thanks for fixing the audio/video glitches!
Netflix - forever suggesting movies that are already saved to my account.
That's brilliant.
Watching these out of order based on the guests and this has been one of my favourites. Lots of great stories and they both seem to really enjoy each othters company.
Love these two together
Marc Maron is if you took all our disappointed dads and made them into one person.

David is so funny off the cuff. Love all these episodes even though he was reluctant to do a podcast in the first place 😆
Killer interview, thank you for getting into some of the old comedy club stories.

Maron's tree answer at the end was great. Love the show.
I think that was the only question Cross asked him. Cross forgot he was the host & Maron forgot he wasn't.
SO GOOD!! Just a real conversation. I guess I'm not getting enough of that in this world. Thank you!

It doesn't give the name of the reviewer.
I think it was Charles Dickens.
@@goosegaskins 😄
These stories are so fascinating, such a dope podcast Mr Cross!
the first few minutes of this video show exactly who maron is and im here for it. what a classic
hilarious. reminds me of the start of this one ua-cam.com/video/-RCCLPp-UnY/v-deo.htmlsi=8DRoNwMSDnW9uZ-R&t=330

Thank you for this. The amount of depth and nuance is pretty crazy. Best thing I've seen in awhile.
Love seeing the New Mexico representation from Marc!
“Only if Chief can lift the sink” is an amazing line, wow.
Totally, very funny use of a reference.
This was lovely. Really enjoying the pod.
Great interview David,, you should go on Tim Heidecker's show. Also loved your Harmontown appearance

@@ckSport3000 Best compliment. Awesome.
Clicked for Maron, stayed for David. Loved this conversation. ◡̈
"I learned it from you dad!" - I'm so glad David Cross also makes references to that early 90's anti-drug commercial.
Haha same
I'm a huge mr show fan and I've watched cross and odenkirk go from that to all the things they've done since like a proud parent.
Very entertaining video. I enjoyed the banter. You guys are funny.
Awesome stuff! Would love to see Zach Galifinakis on!
Great guest; great show, Mr. Cross. Introduced to your work in Arrested Development, and having watched the Jason Bateman episode and now this one with Marc, I'm subbed and looking forward to catching up and staying current. Funny man.
Two of the best. I love y’all
These kinda conversations are what I live on
I've only watched a couple episodes of this podcast, but to me, the funniest part is the beginning. The discussions over who's sitting where, and why, kills me!
Loved this one!!
Love hearing the more personal side of you. Podcast is great and I love you man
I could listen to you two tell past stories till the end of time
Time to listen to this again lol.
i quit paying for netflix, because they suck. and if they are turning down David Cross or both David and Bob that's all the more reason to stay away from netflix.
But they greenlit a film classic like 19:34 Cuties and the new Toe Hogan special! They got their finger on the pulse baby!
technically I didn't quit, but just that the card I was using for the payment happened to naturally expire like almost a year ago, and I've yet to ever feel compelled to bother updating the account
This one, Marc Maron's and the late great Bob Saget's are the only three of these I am subscribed to. All three are incredibly funny!
You should try the SMARTLESS podcast with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes….it’s absolutely hilarious!!!!!
@@leenoneya3845 I've heard of that podcast. I will have to check it out. Thank you!!
thank you!
I love Pete and Mike and Marc and David. Sucks they don’t like each other, but I get it.
This is a great episode man. Best podcast for both you and Mark in recent memory.

Love the Dave Anthony name drop in here during Mark’s story

Listened to this earlier. Was super stoked to see another ep...but then sad see it was a reupload. Anyways, it was a great show! Keep it up.
While David mentioned he hadn't been real into Podcasts, I really hope this sticks around. The only other podcast I can remember enjoying this much was Norm Macdonald Live and that sadly only stuck around for 3 seasons (not counting the Netflix seasons).
33:13 I found Dave Barbuto in a few videos haha! Couldn’t find those jokes but they were pretty similiar. “I saw two rare things today” had me dyin
From a smirk, to a chuckle or two, to what many would term "LMFAO" - before the runtime hit 72 seconds!
New to the show and David you are already a good host. Really great convo.
Love both these guys
Great episode, love both these guys comedy, and to hear all these old stories of their stand up history was very cool.
The closer to this podcast made me laugh the hardest and it clearly wasn’t planned. It clearly didn’t have a closer planned
Glad I found this - I love Jake and Amir and I love David cross and I love maron
21:37 the new special is fantastic
That was great! You found a new fan!
So cool. My favorite Marc Maron and David Cross interview ever. Thanks, David. And Marc.
1:14:05 I'm trying to lip read over here, this is my new Zapruder film
I think he's talking about Carl LaBove RIP a fellow comedian and best friend of Sam Kinison, until he discovered Sam fathered his child behind his back, then he went nuts

Maron and Cross. Fuck yeah.
What great insights into what it takes to succeed, a lot of strife & perseverance. Fun discourse, I'd like another convo. some time🤞🏻.
Best podcast in the history of the world, presented by Globochem.
This was very hilarious
Marc is feeling himself here
They should both sit on the loveseat and rename the show ‘uncomfortably close.’
David is a comedy genius.
I remember watching that signs bit on Comedy Central as a very young kid
Marc’s response at the end was perfect
David! This was amazing. Got your groove bud
This is youtube heroin for me. I have NEVER seen Marc Maron so relaxed and open. I think David Cross is becoming my favourite American comedian. From Stnahope to Louis, back to Stanhope and landing now on Cross. Weird journey.
Do you listen to Marc's podcast? If not, you most definitely should. 🖤
“I just look at Dave Matthews and I’m bored, and it’s got nothing to do with the music.”
Gold
as a greater boston native, I love the old school locations
Mr. Show interviews The Podfather. ty for the re-upload btw
re-upload: greaaaat. i get to watch it again.
also.. marc maron vs dan harmon ;)
I can’t believe anyone ever got these two in a room together.
Whenever it tells me "this is a headgum podcast" I really cringe and hope no one else was listening. It's like ASMR I love it
I agree. Good.
The best!
great interview
This was great
What mic is it they’re talking about? Not just an SM7b right?
So goddamn entertaining watching you guys together.
This was 10/10. Don’t stop. It’s definitely missing Pete Holmes, though.
David Cross talking about meeting somebody you’ve trashed and one of his best bits ever is about meeting the douchebag from Creed
Marc is one of our greatest inventors!
