Is there really such a thing as "TYPICAL" when it comes to a supermarket. In Russia there are literally 100s of different supermarkets you can choose from to do your daily or weekly shopping. To one person this store is very typical. To someone else another chain store is more typical. Let me know the name of the "Very Typical" store you shop at around the world?

Very posh store. I think I would be a Globus person if I lived in Moscow!
Oh no- can we just stop this "typical" jargon by now!
I think you get support enough from he who we do not mention easily ,I mean Putler the destroyer.
@@KimClark61 no lol
The store matters when you are trying to support a false reality. I hope when this is over that true Russians forgive you for being a Putin propagandist.
Azbuka Vkusa is a chain of premium class stores in Moscow and in the capitals of major regions of Russia. Ordinary citizens buy daily food in such stores as Auchan, Pyaterochka, Chizhik and Magnit. There are networks of the middle price segment - Globus, Lenta and Perekrestok. But the prices of basic foodstuffs do not differ much. Premium segment stores have expensive products like crabs, fresh shrimps and elite beef varieties. I usually order products from online stores of various retail chains with home delivery. With a purchase price of $50 or more, courier delivery becomes free. The courier arrives within an hour.
OMG! This was the supermarket we used when we stayed in Moscow. Beautiful supermarket.
For the rich ones in RuZZia it is a typical supermarket - i agree 100%.
Most people are rich in Moscow ?
@@coderider3022no, not most people but there are lots of wealthy people

Thankyou Russell. It's like an Aladdin's cave of food! So interesting to see the gourmet items.
I had been in there so many times before, only shopping upstairs, for lunch or a drink. I didn't even see the cafe doors before.
By our standards, "Азбука Вкуса" is not a cheap store.
👍👍📹 Thanks Russell, I gained 10 kilos just watching. Place is so clean and quiet. Love it.
The takeaway foods section is always busy at this location. As its very close to the center of Moscow.
Quality control stands out
Absolutely incredible! Nice, clean, and full of variety. Thanks Russell 👍❤️
My pleasure!
This is not a "typical" supermarket, this is the most expensive grocery store chain. And the prices there x2 for the same item in the shop around the corner.
It's very typical for people in the center of Moscow to shop there. Even the subscriber who I stopped and chatted to, it was his regular supermarket. There are shoppers for these kinds of stores. It's like Harrods in London, people shop in the supermarket there also.
@@TravellingwithRussell The shops in the middle of most capitals in the world are 'typically' more expensive.
@@marekokragy3341 Are there 100 Harrods stores in London? Since there are more than 100 "Azbuka Vkusa" Stores in Moscow. And yes, this is not a discounter, I would rather compare it with Starbucks, they have their own pricing policy, farm and rarely found products and their own customers.
@@TravellingwithRussell how do you know what's typical for Russians if you are a foreigner?!
Russell, thank you for bringing me back to the happiest years I spent in Moscow 30 years ago. There used to be a different supermarket called 'Sed'moi continent' before. It looks very high end indeed.
Glad you like the videos. Then name of the store you mentioned, i haven't heard of before. maybe its a local store somewhere in Moscow. I will try and look it up.
@TravellingwithRussell it doesn't exist anymore most likely
I wouldn't call this store typical, it's the most expensive store in Russia that I know, though.
There is more luxurious than this chain. Globus Gourmet comes to mind. ua-cam.com/video/vTgYpiV0Z7c/v-deo.html
Let’s put it this way: a typical upscale store in Russia.
@@TravellingwithRussellyou’re right, Russell!
It is a typical store, there's like 800 locations. And he did say its the high end store. Everyone knows azbuka vkusa and there's tons of them.
Man, do you see the prices? They are mental for our wages. That’s the point. You try to show the stocks, but show the prices. Very not typical and insanely expensive for average Russian
In regard to comparison to other international stores, and I can honestly say after seeing your video that supermarket blows the rest of them out of the water. Why? I reside within Scotland and have lived previously lived within Los Angeles which has a famous chain of supermarkets called Vons and another one called Ralphs while UK’s Tesco, Morrisons, but while this Russian supermarket you’ve shown us is far superior to them with its massive selection of goods on offer and it is extremely well presented throughout the store has set the bar very high for other international supermarkets to live up too.
A great video showing us the Russian economy is doing extremely well, but while the Western Nations has gone from the frying pan already into the fire pit unless Trump pulls them all out of it sooner or later when he finally takes Office.

"Азбука" - типичный супермаркет для людей, живущих в том районе, подтверждаю. Но туда приходят все - если не для ежедневного шоппинга, то для покупки определённых продуктов, которых больше нет нигде. Если тебе нужна итальянская газировка определённой марки, индийский соус, японская лапша или премиальный чай - ты идёшь в Азбуку Вкуса.
Мы же должны иметь возможность это купить.....не искать же это вечером, после работы в "Пятерочке"😊
The beer selection is amazing, you can't get London Pride or Newcastle Brown in Canada anymore.
Where are all the customers
I'm pretty sure I can still get Newcastle Brown at my liquor store in BC. Mind you, I haven't looked for it lately.
@@dlittlester The only English beer I've seen in the government liquor stores is 'Old Speckled Hen' (not sure about the private stores).
Russia grows some of their own pineapples (!). They have vast greenhouses that grow all sorts of food you wouldn't expect.
I am always surprised to hear about different food items that are made locally in Russia.
@@TravellingwithRussell Most western-branded food items sold in Russia were made there. McDonalds was not shipping beef and buns to Russia. It all came from Russian suppliers. Russia really should have renamed "Starbucks" into "Tsarbucks" with a silhouette of Catherine the Great on the cup. Such a missed opportunity.
@@SunriseLAW I’ll tell you why they didn’t do this, “bucks” is the colloquial name for the dollar. After everything that happened, renaming the coffee chain “TsarDollar” is not good idea.

Never heard of Bundaberg :)
Here in Alabama this kind of market would be considered high end / specialty. Most daily supermarkets have some Euro/South American foods but the quantity and selection seen here is way past normal here. Also no liquor can be sold in groceries here, only wine and beer. It's either state run liquor stores or privately owned (higher cost).
This is special supermarket . I haven't seen in Perth shop like this. Prices are probably much higher but I love it. There is nothing like this in Australia. Thank you Russel. Just please show us some prices

What sanctions? Are you kidding?
The sanctions that have caused the ruble to go from 76 to 1 dollar to over 100 to 1 dollar.
The sanctions that caused interest rates to go from 5% to 21%.
The sanctions that have made it difficult and/or more expensive to get car and airplane parts. Etc., etc., etc.
Why are you still playing this game?
And caused the Russian GDP measured as PPP almost twice as higher than that of USA? Those.
@nelkosme3734
No, Russia is ranked 4th and that won't last long for obvious reasons.
Wow, the prices are very expensive! I can't believe it costs more than in Gemany. And some of German products are there as well. It is some of luxury stores I guess or just a supermarket for rich people.
This is considered by many as a luxury store. But, people shop there for the selection as well. If you want cheap: ua-cam.com/video/ErFfZDN4bHo/v-deo.html

It's quite useless to connect supermarkets with sanctions: There're NO sanctions against grocieries etc.! So there's no impact on what is available except the rads that voluntarily decided to retreat from Russian market.
It’s very typical. And popular.
In Russia. Exactly.
This video is very informative regarding Russian food supermarket.
Yay! Always happy to see an update! And I agree, "typical" is very different depending on where you live.
My "typical" grocery store is WinCo, but we also shop at an "Albertson's" and, occasionally at WalMart.
Even in the different states in America there are different brands from city to city.
i lived 25 years in Russia and i can assure you Azbuxka Vkus is the best supermarket in Russia ,actually its considered the premium and i always shop there even though its a bit expensive for Russia, again but the quality is definitely good
Nice try but there are no sanctions on food, however just compare the price increases for western imported foods today against what they were a few months back. Huge difference.
I have to think you live in Russia based on your comment. You would know very well though that his is a certain chain of stores not every Russian shops at.

This store is amazing. I wanted to see the prices too.
I will try to show more prices in future videos.
I get that there are food stores in Moscow region that are well stocked with just about everything someone could want despite western sanctions. Whether or not the average family could afford to shop there is probably another matter.
There are so many different stores to choose from, in so many different price levels of shopping. Even in the regional town where from wife is from the stores are well kept. This is a store called 5ka, they have more than 20,000 of them all over Russia. Perhaps the most typical of all stores. ua-cam.com/video/ZGtc-uj2QN8/v-deo.html

Anyone know why/how stores below apartments there first started? It is fantastic how apartments there are equipped with convenience! ❤
It comes from the fact that usually prices to rent or to buy trade spaces for stores are higher than prices to rent or to buy living areas or apartments. So for developers stores are attractive to deal with. And according to Russian low stores must have separate entrances. That's why the first floor or ground floor are usually used for service purposes.

There are no sanctions on food, try to stay up to the times!!!
A lot of sanctions. Now you have maybe other sources for fruits and vegetables.
Most come from either inside Russia or nearby CIS countries.
By the way, Konstantin mentioned you recently on his latest post. - Not by name, but he said he knows you personally.. thought you might want to know, thats all
Wow, Yes. We know each other, when he was living in Moscow. We lived only about 20 minutes way from each other. I actually feature in his most popular video on his channel.
@TravellingwithRussell I found you, yes you were talking in an empty IKEA carpark
Sanctions they say on BBC! What sanctions? Dom P., Crystal, Mcallan on the shelfs! I live in Canford Cliffs and this video put my local Waitrose and Marks and Spencer to shame. Not to mention Tesco in Branksome Park, what a shit hole 😂. They put Salmon and Steaks in protective anti theft packaging to tackle theft! Security guards on entrance… Homeless people near entrance always! None in Moscow… Time to leave 😂😂
Wow I love the supermarket it have everything cool.
🇹🇹♥️🇷🇺💪🙏
Cheers!
@@TravellingwithRussell one day for one day I'll be there 🇹🇹♥️🇷🇺💪
Looks nice but lol no one buying. I guess money is running low for regular people in Russia. Enjoy
