It’s all about the bullpups this week as we take super-compact airguns into the woods and onto the range.
Mat Manning shows just how effective feeding stations can be during the winter as he heads out on his squirrel control rounds with the Daystate Renegade. The greedy bushy-tails fall for the trap, and it turns out to be a busy morning in the hide.
This week’s review gun is the Air Arms Galahad. The British gunmaker’s first bullpup, the Galahad is packed with innovative features, including an awesome sidelever system that makes cocking and loading a cinch.
The Airgun Show goes out at 7.30pm every other Thursday, showcasing all things airgun. Tune in for in-the-field hunting action, gun tests, product reviews and the latest airgun news.
Good eradication job of the grey's this week , Mat, I'm sure that'll earn you a brew at the Pub. Both of these Bull Pup's look really nice too, the Daystate Renegade as well as the AirArms Galahad.
Most enjoyable edition again, thanks.
Thanks Reg. Glad you enjoyed it.
Mat
I've gotten addicted to this show. I am amazed at how much hunting there is in Great Britain. I'm sorry that you have so many regulations, but it is your country and not mine. Thanks for the great programs. I'd love to come hunt with you sometime.
Great show as usual Mr. Manning. I got a couple of good laughs out of the squirrel activity at the opening of your hunting segment. I liked the little bird that kept sneaking in for a peanut while the squirrels and woodpecker were tying to dominate each other. I've never had a "Boring" day in the woods watching nature. Keep up the fine work, and good hunting to you. Bionicycle A;K.A. William C. from the U.S.A.
Thanks William. Yes, I noticed that bird sneaking in when the bigger visitors were distracted.
All the best. Mat
Good stuff Mat!, it looked like you might have had the barrel shroud resting on the camo net a couple of times there but it was all good.
I took my popup hide out on one of the frosty mornings last week 7.00am start sat on the pheasant feeder waiting for dawn, bagged a couple of rats, 5 squirrels, 2 magpies and a crow all before 11.00, not a bad way to pass a few hours of a morning.

Sounds like some very good hunting Simon. Feeders can be really productive at this time of year.
Yes, I noticed the resting barrel shroud when I watched it back. It's something I go on about a lot so I'll have to watch out for that...
All the best. Mat
Wow! Bullpups can be really effective little game getters. Thanks for yet another fine show!
Glad you liked it Bill.

Nice show, thanks for posting. I'm pondering getting a Kral bullpup -- mostly because I tend to shoot from the shoulder; I know it's not the same budget at the two rifles you demo (very nicely) but if there are any opinions for/against, I'm all 'ears'.
Also Mat, thanks for the introduction about the damage done by the fluffies, this seems to keep the comment threads pretty clean, for once!
ffs nicky where is it your going that's so important lol....great vid again guys
180del ...and is Nicky going or not, he's taking her away and then says he's staying to bag more regardless of Nicky?
His day job probably.
I have the Galahad carbine reg version ,22, very accurate and so loud fitted a mini Q TEC silencer. Very accurate rifle looks aren't to everyone's taste but its a good rifle for hunting small game and vermin. Nice review
Thanks for the feedback - and glad to hear you're getting on well with the new gun.
All the best. Mat
mm due to a shoulder prob just changed it for a Brocock Bantam Hilite .177, think we need a review from you please
Just bought the bull pup regulated version in .177...Cracking gun....
Another good show Mat. Those bull pups out of box seem to have quite the bark. I've never shouldered one, but I hear they are very well suited for hunting in tight quarters or woods walking. Not sure I could go for the looks however. I like a traditional sported like your MKIV or the Daystate Regal XL/Huntsmen.

A good presentation.
hi mat well done on the squirrels nice shooting join basc again 2nd time round , Paul
Thanks Paul. Good to hear you're supporting BASC - they do a lot for shooting and shooters.
All the best. Mat
Great video, thanks for sharing this with us! one question, I couldn't find that 4.5-14x32 scope on hawke's web page, which model is it? Sorry for my poor english, btw
Love your show and I love spring air rifles.. I've an fac Air Arms Pro Sport..I just can't take to those pcp's.. If I need more power or range, I grab my 10/22.
Excellent job on the squirrels Mat. Only difference is, I use wheat...but whatever keeps them still long enough to get the shot off, is all that counts.
Thanks Paul. Yes, they'll certainly take wheat - and it's a lot cheaper than peanuts. The problem on a lot of my shoots is that it takes peanuts to entice them away from the pheasant feeders.
All the best. Mat
Yep, the wheat is a sure fire winner mate...

Beautiful shots friend
Great review!
I really like the renagade and will do mostly target shooting at my range, so would like to get the .177 version, would this caliber still be effective in the same hunting senario you were in, in this video with the squirrels if i ever decide to do this type of shooting? Hope you can answer me soon as i will be making my order in the morning
once again mat great show and keep em coming.
Thanks Craig. We're already working on the next one.
All the best. Mat
I love watching you shoot the "bushy tails" and that bull pup looks like a fantastic toy to play with! I do have what might seem like a basic question, but hope you'll find the time to answer it. On more than one occasion you've indicated that the .22 caliber rifles will get more shots per charge than the .177s. This seems counter intuitive as the smaller pellets would use less air to be propelled. Could you explain that for me if it's not too much bother?
Thanks
Hi Henry.
The larger, heavier pellet is more efficient in terms of power. It'll be moving slower than a .177 but needs less air to achieve legal limit muzzle energy. Take a look at calculations for working out muzzle energy - a Google search will put you on track - and it should make sense.
All the best. Mat
Enjoyed this weeks show Mat, the squirrels took a bit a hammer & the Galahad looks to be a tidy bit of kit.
atvb t ...
Thanks Tadpole. Bullpups aren't to everyone's liking but I was very surprised by just how good the Galahad was.
All the best. Mat
If I ever get to visit from the US, it would be my pleasure to help you cull the squirrel infestation! Here at home they go in the pot!
no they don't
Another great presentation from the team,,,
Thanks very much.
All the best. Mat
Great video Matt. Well done.
Thanks Robin.
All the best. Mat

CORVID HUNTER F
Great show Mat
Mat, could you please tell me what make are your wellies and where did you buy them from?
John Green hunter
How to buy this airgun?
Great show again Matt but how about some more scope views when hunting please
Sorry brother how much for your airgun?how can I buy this airgun?I want it..
What to choose between these two?
Good shooting!!
Once again, do you have to contend with tics in Great Britain?
if these high end guns are basically designed for hunting the I'd like to see a camo stock/gun. it just makes sense. wood stocks are beautiful but black is boring
shooting distance of how many meters are friends ..
What is the fps of your air rifles
Was the renegade FAC Matt?
here in the Philippines, you can buy an air gun just 100 dollar..but no scope and silencer.
Don’t have to justify your self just blast the blighters ha
Wow yes jos
awesome rifle
good job
Content = great :)Music = GET RID OF IT !!!!!!!!
308 Merchant Agreed! At least lower the music's volume.
Great episode lads. Was the daystate sub 12ft ? I am out on the squirrels first thing in the morning, should be good.
Hi Gareth. Yes, the Renegade is legal limit.
All the best. Mat
What price
very good
Что за винтовка у тебя ??
Woowww very nice
killing squirrels for tree saving is the good job to do but i would like to know what will you do with the dead squirrels, cook for dinner ?
Did you intend to present more than a 20 dB volume increase for the news section? It's really jarring and unnecessary when, without warning, the screen starts screaming at you!
"one of the better looking ones out there" what? lol, it`s ugly as hell, but it`s AA, which means it will be absolutely fantastic in feel and function.
haha yea i almost wrecked my coffee when i heard that
deaczorz
Haha crazy, I`d say that not only is it ugly, it is probably *thee* ugliest one of all, hahaha.
Excellent video Mat. I really fancy the AA Galahad. Hope Santa is good to me. Happy Christmas.
Mr kalo mau pesan kmana ya
like amigão..👍👏👏
why you have to do such an in depth play by play on every shot? we can see!!!
shut up
its filler
Bloody Nikki.......alway having to run off in the middle of the shoot!!
On a serious note just try peanut m&ms
Nice👍
do you care about a bad shot and injuring the animal and letting it die slowly in agony? just wondering
what's wrong with the voice over its not coming through properly
Matthew Pearsall I noticed that too, it's like it was recorded in mono instead of stereo, maybe? Sure sounded strange, huh!
Quit a spectical lol
😂
these uk boys think they have pests? sitting there for hours and not even getting much. look some of matt dubbers vids then you wil see what peats are!!
Paul Verwey coz he likes in South Africa and u can shot more things there
