Great points. God don’t like divorce unless adultery. What you cannot hold someone in hostage to want to be married also. Sis white said many of us married for the wrong reasons hence the reason my husband and I are divorced now.

God spoke..i listened and iv learnt more to what i already knew. God bless the Advent message as it spreads to those who need it. a marriage/family is the foundation of the church therefore i strongly believe that the devil will attack pepertually, our partners should be our helpers, protectors and shields...Amen!!!!

I heard a sermon preached twice on this topic (at my church then at a sister church i visited-SDA ) and it was hammered home that anybody who left because of any reason other than adultery and remarried was committing a "perpetual sin" and basically it sounded to me like they were saying they couldn't be forgiven if they did not turn from their ways (repent i.e. end the current marriage- because it was not a real union in God's eyes)
Is it possible that any of the Grace Community SDA pastors can shed some light here? Re: the whole idea of "perpetual sin". I know in this video it was said stay as opposed to cause more issues and more hurt but what is your take on this notion of perpetually sinning / committing adultery because you left on the wrong grounds in the first place and are technically still married to the first person in God's eyes.

Hi Neisha J! That is a very lovely question. We are sinful creatures living in a sinful world. God's Word is a light and a mirror for our condition. But where sin abounds Grace does much more abound. For our constant repetitive sins there is forgivness forever through the gift of Grace. Furthermore all things, good and bad, conflict and sin, work to the good of those who Love Christ. There is no situation, sin, or problem too big for God's Love and Grace. There is a standard expertly outlined by Pastor Edmonds. We should always strive for the High Mark. But there is Grace for those who believe in God's Love.
