Set up Android Auto back in January when receiving my 1 series. Now some months later it no longer connected. I wanted to set it up again but the menu point for Android Auto at 0:34 no longer exists (only Apple Car Play). Completely broken.

I have g30 and it has been already 2 times that android could not reconnect to my mobile for unknown reasons. I use just one phone, and when I try to remove conection to pair two devices again, I cannot do that on BMW side. As it is the only phone, I cannot remove it. This is really annoying, as I spend hours on fixing it. Even removiong entire profile does not help. The only workaround I am aware of is through adding another phone. That means I need to engage someone from the family to fix very simple problem. Or reset BMW to factory settings. Really annoying.

No its true. My U.K vehicle was registered in July 2020 and has Android Auto. And if you go and Watch the Carwow review of the BMW M8 Gran Coupe. That car was also registered in July 2020 and in the video he is using the Android Auto Function. There not telling lies. There are differences for each individual market.

I have tried this once on the VW golf and when you connect wirelessly using WiFi It then means your phone is useless as it has no connection to data...

It should be available since November for the 2020s. You need to take it into the dealership, and it takes about an hour to update. Most dealerships don't know it exist. Tell them to ask the corporate tech engineer about it.
Android auto in BMW is a lie. Here in GCC, android auto is disabled with persistent error : Connection Error 14 Your Car's software didn't pass Android Security Check. The local dealer here said it's not their problem to resolve this issue.

Try deleting you phone from your BMW and then re-pair them. That worked for me.

I purchased the 2020 BMW X1 2.0. It does not support Android Auto.
So it won't work with a 2018 vehicle just 2019/2020+? 😭
Unless you have e. g. a F45 or F46, then BMW screwed you, even if it was produced end of 2020 or even later.

You are assuming every Android version around, would be compatible with the wider aspect ratio, which I bet is not the case.
