- Hello friends!
This is the big screen footage of our show at Alexandra Palace on 6th March 2008 where we play all the stuff from our first two records, and which obviously heavily features our old compadre Chris Urbanowicz. This is the show that some over-exuberant punter was loving the vibe of so much he/she launched a pint of lager in the air only to completely knock out the sound-desk, leaving us onstage playing on completely unaware that the crowd out front couldn't hear a thing - so excuse the couple of songs that go missing in the middle somewhere.
I also remember this show for having to travel back to the hotel afterward in the boot of my mum and dad’s car, for some reason I can’t quite remember.
Anyway, whether you have all the time in the world and need as much content as possible to binge on over the next few weeks, or maybe you would like something to watch to take your mind off things at the end of a tough day, we all hope you enjoy it.

Many thanks for setlist, just to add that the song within a song during Spiders is Peter Gabriel's Red Rain. I was at this concert, one of the best ever Editors gigs. Has the same outro on Bones as studio vers. which I think is brilliant. They kind of dropped the outro in later gigs.

So yeah they literally performed "Escape The Nest" and "TWOTW" on March 3rd 2020, in other words, their last show. Even songs like Spiders, Distance and You Are Fading were part of the setlist. That's good news for you lol
(That's pretty cool they managed to play a full live rendition of Distance, they never managed to do it with Chris)
@@falcon6453 Well the 2020 tour was in support of their Greatest Hits collection so no surprise there, but ETN hadn't been played since 2010 and hasn't been played since. A real shame imo as is the memory holeing of ITLAOTE material, in particular Like Treasure and You Don't Know Love, which is inexplicable to me.
Seen them 17 times, mostly in France, twice here in England, met them 3 times..absolute amazing band and great guys .
One of the best band in the world. Under my undervalued point of view. Thanks for giving us so much to music lovers!
One of my all time favourite live bands, if you ever get a chance to see them live: do it, go! They are soooo good live!
Indeed and in my opinion the greatest bands are live better than on CD as it should be and for me that's Editors and The Cure :-)
These guys are my favourite band, how they haven't become bigger than they are baffles me to this day
they play arenas in europe. that seems pretty big to me

They’re to good to be big. I’m sure they could go the commercial route If they wanted. I just hope they stick to their “miserable indie” sound, I’m sure they don’t want end up like Coldplay.
This! But hey, I got to see them in a tiny venue in Seattle last year so I guess that's a positive of them not being huge in North America.
@@DarkoSikman I got to see them in LA a few years ago. I flew halfway across the US to see them. I was not disappointed.

This Show was amazing.
What a time to experience “technical difficulties”, on my favourite song “Escape The Nest”, right at the crescendo. Loved it none the less & so glad it’s back on the set list.

Never been the same band since Chris Urbanowicz was asked to leave. His Rickenbacker tones make those first two albums. Not surprising later albums have not stood up to standards against this era.
in your opinion. i think what editors are producing now is better. but my era was the 80s so maybe im bias

Justin Lockey got production background, he produced A LOT of records in the indie music scene which was a big step forward for Editors.
And Thomas, no. Chris departure doesn't reflect the reason why you judge that the new material don't "stand up". Even during the recording of the original album 4 (who was a complete frustrating nightmare process mostly because of Chris not contributing) their demos were extremely similar to the sound they shipped in Violence 7 years ago (most of the songs are concept from this recording session)
The original plan (even with Chris) was to find a good balance between electronic and rock. But it wasn't going well working with him. I'm happy that Tom is still confident with music nowadays !

I'm a big fan of Editors in the Chris era, but jeez his guitar needed tuning more often that night!

No one conjures the voice of Ian Curtis more than... They need not have made more than 1 album. Their height was tallest there. The rest was cut and paste IMHO
