Hello ladies, I knew you would enjoy this one. I’ve never been much of a fan of rap per se, I like a few but the talent in this young man is undeniable. Thanks for the shout out and I hope you enjoy your new windows.
Ladies, this is my first time seeing you, LOVED the reaction and how much you appreciated Ren. This was NOT A ONE OFF! Ren is truly remarkable! There is NOTHING he cannot do! He is a style/genre bender; he does it all! Sing, act, rap, play many instruments, produce his own beats on the computer, beatbox, conduct a band. He is a one in a lifetime type of talent. There are MANY of his songs that are ALL reaction worthy! Want more subs? Easily done... Watch more Ren!!!
Here is some additional information on Ren's story that I gathered from old newspaper interviews, articles, and Ren's public livestreams and posts. A handful of people frequently post an earlier version of my comment to various reactions that they copied and pasted verbatim, so if this is a repeat just ignore this comment. I keep editing the information, as needed, and have removed details about Ren that some found to be too personal, such as his full name and D.O.B. All the information here was gathered exclusively from sources Ren personally approved for public release. Ren is a Welsh musician/independent artist/producer, self-taught multi-instrumentalist. He pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, Ren began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures, which eventually caused him to discontinue his studies and return home. In addition, Ren was signed by Sony Records in 2010 and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point that he was unable to go on; consequently, his contract with Sony was dissolved. Ren would later relocate to Brighton. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is in Calgary, Canada for at least six months (Summer of 2023), undergoing treatments such as IV therapy and other interventions five days a week, as well as surgeries (wisdom tooth removal and cavitation surgery). His Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD), which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, and adrenals as well as his bones/joints. Hence, Ren is receiving additional treatments for this previously undiagnosed condition. He recently took a break from treatments and returned to the UK to visit family and friends, and to produce some very ambitious musical projects to be released soon. Let's keep supporting Ren as he undergoes his treatments. Check out and subscribe to his channel; if you are a content creator, ask your audience to subscribe to Ren. Ren's YT channel just surpassed 1 million subscribers. and his videos have garnered millions and millions of views. Listen to some of his earlier work, like and comment on his performances, and let's lift Ren's spirits. If you are a believer, pray for him. Ren is an artist with something to say to the world, and his work is important in these troubling times. Someone has finally created a Wikipedia page for Ren, so there is additional information available.
Can't wait till you do the trilogy The Tales of Jenny Screetch and Violet ( full ) you need to listen to them one after the other to get the full story . Its a tragic tale,so make sure you have some tissues just in case . It is like watching a movie and you will have to remind yourself that the whole thing was done with one man and a guitar. Ren is a fine singer ( Humble , Ocean , Chalk Outlines with Chinchilla)a brilliant guitarist a very clever rapper ( Power, Hunger or Loosing it) as well as a performer and story teller who makes his own beats and often has had a hand in editing and producing his vidioes. Thank you for a great reaction❤❤❤❤
If your going down the Ren rabbit hole you need to be ready to say “WOW” a lot, everything he does is just incredible, a true master of his art, He has so many great songs not all are deep like Hi Ren but all of them are thought provoking in their own way, Enjoy the Ren ride it’s worth taking
I wrote this introduction to Ren as well as some background information when I first discovered him earlier this year, as there wasn't a Wikipedia entry for people to look him up prior to March 2023. I have posted this info to every "Hi Ren" reaction I have come across since, and I hope it will be of some use to the uninitiated. Ren is a Welsh independent artist/singer/songwriter/busker/producer, living in Brighton, UK. He plays multiple instruments (acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, melodica, drums), has impressive vocals, beatboxes, produces all his own beats, is an excellent storyteller, and is quite the philosopher and poet. He is considered by many a modern-day bard; he calls his music "bardcore." Ren's music videos are frequently recorded live using a lavalier mic, often in a single take, although not necessarily the first take, and from various camera angles. In the case of "Hi Ren," it took four takes, all live in the room, to get the footage he wanted. Someone commented that Samuel Perry-Falvey who filmed "Hi Ren," talks about the production of the video in the comments of Jonathan Hiller's (Filmmaker Reacts) reaction to the song. According to him, this video footage is not a one-take per se, but the audio was recorded live in a single take. Ren's release, "Sick Boi," is almost another chapter to "Hi Ren" and appears to have been filmed in the same room. "Hi Ren" is the song that put Ren on everyone's radar since December; it went viral and has garnered over 18 million views since its debut. Ren recently released a video of an older live stage performance of “Hi Ren;” it is worth checking out. However, Ren has been creating great music for more than ten years. Many of Ren's songs resonate with people because he addresses struggles that many others face every day. Ren's earliest recordings on UA-cam are from his time in a band called "Trick The Fox," consisting of Ren and his buddies Charlie and Tommy. Unfortunately, the band performed only briefly due to Ren's onset of health issues. They are very talented. A fun clip to watch is "The Mash Up." Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/v_yBPkCY6Ok/v-deo.html Ren's trilogy "The Tale of Jenny/Screech/Violet" has been likened to a Shakespearean tragedy and is a prime example of his genius; it is a master's class in storytelling and also showcases his guitar skills. The three acts are haunting, and the conclusion will catch you off guard. The trilogy needs to be watched in the order given, as this is the flow of the storyline and is best watched as a whole rather than piecemeal. Ren's Hip Hop/Rap style songs are worth checking out if you enjoy this genre; unfortunately, sexual innuendos are pervasive in hip-hop and rap, and Ren makes such references in several of his songs. Check out "The Hunger," "Genesis," "What You Want," "Losing It (FISHER rap retake)," "Right Here, Right Now (Fatboy Slim one shot retake)," "Life is Funny," "Love Music (Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4)," "Crucify Your Culture," "Power," "Hold On," his recent release, “Down On The Beat (feat. Viktus),” and his latest song, “Masochist,” just to name a few. Ren's collaborations with Chinchilla ("Chalk Outlines," "How to Be Me," "Sexual Healing," "One Dance/Drunk in Love") are beautiful and showcase his singing voice. His live music videos are especially impressive. Ren's personal reflections are threaded through many of his songs; "Insomnia," "Depression," "Diazepam," "Penitence," "Dear God," "Heretic," "Dominos," his "Freckled Angels" album, in particular his song "Fire," just to name a few, all deserve a listen. His song "Money Game" (Part I & II) is another recommendation, although it is less of a personal song than it is an indictment of greed and the resulting injustices in this world. Ren is about to shoot "Money Game Part III." Ren's performances with Sam Tompkins ("Blind Eyed," "Earned It /Mans World / Falling," "Walking on the Moon/No Diggity," "Feeling Good/Trouble So High/Masterblaster (Jammin')," "Latch," "Wild Thoughts/Crazy in love (Live Session)," "Same Old Situation (Live, feat. Ren)," "Improvising Around Stevie Wonder," "Live in the Streets of Brighton, UK," "What Went Wrong" Part I&II) are definitely a must. Also, his collaborations with Eden Nash ("Humble," "Ocean"), Bibi ("Crutch," "Ahiahiaoha"), Molly McKinna ("Penitence"), Orlean ("Jessica"), his former bandmate Romain Axisa ("French Song"), are all great. Last but not least, Ren's busking sessions with Liv Sangster are awesome. I recently discovered that Ren also recorded a cover of "Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Cover)," which is simply beautiful. "The Big Push" (Ren Gill, Gorran Kendall, Romain Axisa, and Glen Chambers) busking sessions, concerts, and live recordings all are amazing and well worth checking out. All but the drummer sing lead vocals at times. Ren, Gorran, and Romain all play multiple instruments. Ren plays acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, and drums. Gorran plays acoustic, electric, bass guitar, and harmonica. Romain plays acoustic, electric, bass guitar, ukulele, and piano. They are each incredibly gifted artists, and their solo work is completely different from each other. Well worth checking out. Their covers of "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop," "Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble So Hard," "War Pigs," "Roadhouse Blues," "My Generation," "Paint It Black," "An Englishman in New York," "Bongo Bong" are excellent. On "These Boots Are Made For Walking'/Satisfaction/Everybody," "Praise You" (Fatboy Slim Cover), and "What Kind Of Woman Is This," all three take a turn singing. The songs "Oh My Woman," "Swan Song," "Sweet Little Lady," "It's Alright," "Dignity," "Watch Out," and so many others are equally impressive. The band, at least for the time being, performed their last official busking session and gave their last concert in September of last year (2022) due to the fact that Ren was leaving for Canada to undergo specialized medical care and surgeries for his multiple health issues. In anticipation of his stay in Canada, Ren prepared some music ahead of time to be released during the time he expects to be gone. He released "Sick Boi," "Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve retake)," which is another masterful work, "Illest Of Our Time," and "Animal Flow," which is out now in two versions, a full-production music video, and a live, one-take acoustic version. Ren also premiered the official music video of his song “Murderer,” and followed it up with a newly recorded acoustic live version that is phenomenal and my favorite of the two versions. His release, “Love Music Part 4” and “Masochist” recently came out, and his newest release, “Lost All Faith,” just premiered. Ren’s “Money Game Part 3” will be released soon, and his new album is due out October 13th, if I am not mistaken. Ren's release, "Su!cIde," was difficult to watch; it is a sad, haunting, gut-wrenching tribute to Ren's friend Joe who took his own life. Ren’s follow-up to “Su!cIde,” "For Joe," is also sad and emotional, but strangely enough, it offers a sense of closure.
I think ‘Bardcore’ was a joke that Ren probably regrets because since it has stuck to him like a tick. The Jenny’s tale trilogy may be awkwardly categorised as ‘ Bardcore’ but the rest of his music certainly isn’t, even during what may perhaps be described as his ‘melancholy’ period when he wrote such songs as ‘Ready for you’ Ocean’ , Humble, ‘Patience’ , ‘Dear God’ etc…
Ren is the Original "Bardcore Genre Bender" The Master Bard himself ( Shakespeare ) would have understood exactly where Ren was coming from. Ren isn't just a songwriter but rather a Performance Art Master who blends music and character acting from all the styles over the last 500 years and makes it modern and relatable to all generations even if normally you may not be a fan of whatever genre he is currently performing. While most good Performers can envoke some emotions in their audience, Ren is an Emotion Master who has control of all of them, From the Feel Good Vibes of Bongo Bong, to the Rebellion of Illist Of Our Time, to the Tragedy of Jenny and Screech, to the Mind Bending Rap Flow of Losing It, and the Internal Psych War of Hi Ren, Ren has it All! The Ren Rabbit Hole is Deep and Powerful! Get Ready for the Ride of your Life!
Hello friends! I hope you continue down the Ren rabbit hole! Loved your reaction here and can't wait to see more. The Tale of Jenny and Screech (full version) is the most powerful musical storytelling I've ever heard and I highly recommend it...Subbed! 💜🦇💚
Ren was misdiagnosed for years with depression bi polar chronic fatigue syndrome he had a recording deal with Sony in 2010 why working on his album he started getting sick and couldn't finish his album so they parted ways he moved back to whales he became bedridden for up 23 hours a day it would take years before he got right diagnosis of Lyme disease he went so long misdiagnosed that he has brain damage Organ damage and Joint damage he has ADHD they had him on the meds that caused him to have psychosis PTSD to he had stem cell therapy done he in Canda getting treatment right now you really should do the video what a day like for me he has to have IV take la hand full meds can only eat like 5 things he says he eat same thing everyday he has to have this thing put on his head that shock something in his brain the autoimmune attack his brain Ren play drum bass piano produces mixes his own beats beatboxes this is live and was done in one take Ren does most of his music live and in one take he was in band call the big push Ren sings and raps you should do Ren and chinchilla chalk outlines live also how to be me live Ren and Eden Nash Humble and Occean Ren and Bibi crutch Ren Jenny and Screech full video make sure it full video its 3 part trilogy
Wonderful reaction! Try out Ren’s band, The Big Push. They do a great cover of Manu Chao’s song Bongo Bong. Very heart-warming. You may also like his two collaborations with Chinchilla: How To Be Me and Chalk Outlines. These are devastatingly beautiful. He covers the gamut though in his works.
Thank you for an honest and heartfelt reaction. Rap music have never been my cup of tea, but Ren is different. I clicked on this reaction because there were more than one reactor and it usually makes the reactors reflect, and talk about what they experience, when hearing what he has to say, so I have subscribed, in hope that you have read the comments, learning where he comes from, and decide that all of you will continue this journey into the story of Ren.
Really enjoyed watching you react to Ren for the first time ❤ You've just hit the jackpot for gaining many of his loyal fans subscribing to watch you react to more of his content. You won't be disappointed. Liked & subscribed in anticipation of you reacting to more Ren. Thank you 😀
🙏🏼 ❤️ 🙏🏼- wonderful reaction from 3 beautiful honest human beings. Just found you today and 👍🏼 Liked and Subbed right away. The Ren Rollercoaster is quite a ride that I’ve been on for the last 6 months or so. ✨ He’s so raw, honest and talented and his body of work and collaborations with other musicians & artists is a true treasure trove. Ups and downs - serious introspection to silly slap-happy multi-syllables to angry f’kn anarchistic nihilistic diatribes to honest, vulnerable heart-breaking sorrow, with core elements of blues, r&b, rock n roll, reggae, rap all making up the musical amalgam that is Ren. Hope y’all have fun! 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼
Keep going down the Ren rabbit hole. This young man has unlimited talent. Tales of Jenny and Screech trilogy, Sick Boi, Money Game 1 & 2 (3 drops in a couple of weeks), I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion cover (red suspenders version). Pick any of his songs, and you won’t be disappointed. ❤

Also check out Ren and Chinchilla live version of Chalked Outline and How to be me.

Ren is what I consider a once in a lifetime artist, and I am happy to know that I am alive to hear his words. I would recommend his song Patince (from when he was beginning his journey with his illness and many misdiagnosises) or more recently, How To Be Me with Chinchilla (the live version is best in my opinion).
should check out ren Masochist he wrote the song when he was really ill like 4 years ago before now as hes healthier, the song is deep and he said himself that the song was everything he was thinking when he was going through those hard times

If your going down the Ren Rabbit hole id suggest Jenny Screech and Violets Tale its a Trilogy. Watch all together. Then his band the Big Push Watch their live Busking ( street performances) from Brighton England 🇬🇧. Or his Songs with Chinchilla. Eden Nash Liv Sangster. Or Sam Tompkins all the Artists he performs with are very Talented
I would love to see you react to Edge of the cliff by The Streets, such an uplifting song it always leaves me smiling. It's only 3 minutes but we'll worth a listen and I think you will appreciate the message.
REN is awesome so is DAX to be a man video also if you want a real good one try NF HAPPY song but NF is a long journey lol from beginning to he’s most recent stuff lol 😂
Yeah, turn off YT's auto-gen closed captions, they are annoying and invariably wrong. Find a video camera to do 1080p please? Get ear buds so we don't hear the echo and poor sound quality of the video. If you think this is an acting performance, you will be stunned by both Ren's performance and his friend Samuel's camera work in their brilliant trilogy 'The Tale of Jenny & Screech + Violet's Tale,' you need to watch the combo video. You can also see more of his social commentary in 'Money Game part I' (he criticizes his accent in it by saying 'what is it even now? Northern? Southern? Welsh?) so you can get the lyrics for that song beforehand but no other, or it will be a spoiler, 'Money Game Part II' is blowing up right now as a recent release video (awesome), but for a more personal work, look at the songs about his childhood friend in 'Suic*de' and 'For Joe' (bring tissues), which also explains the title of his first album 'Freckled Angels.'

Welcome to the world of Ren!!
You have opened yourselves up to one of the most important artists in recent times, he is a once in a generation phenomenon.

Get down the REN rabbit hole you won’t be disappointed
Wonderful reaction! Try out Ren’s band, The Big Push. They do a great cover of Manu Chao’s song Bongo Bong. Very heart-warming. You may also like his two collaborations with Chinchilla: How To Be Me and Chalk Outlines. These are devastatingly beautiful. He covers the gamut though in his works.
The man does every kinda music to set your mood ...he is unleashed
Great reaction ladies , to me your expressions said it all . Sub from me . Regards and respect from uk ❤
Really enjoyed watching you react to Ren for the first time ❤
You've just hit the jackpot for gaining many of his loyal fans subscribing to watch you react to more of his content.
He’s so raw, honest and talented and his body of work and collaborations with other musicians & artists is a true treasure trove. 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼
Tales of Jenny and screech by ren next please 👍
💯

The Tale of Jenny and Screech (Full version) is a must.
Love your reactions..i really hope you delve in to all his music.
should check out ren Masochist he wrote the song when he was really ill like 4 years ago before now as hes healthier, the song is deep and he said himself that the song was everything he was thinking when he was going through those hard times

Hi ladies, PLEASE read the comments below by Jens Randolff. They will give you a deep insight into exactly what Ren has had to go through.
FYI, I can't really hear what you guys are saying when you don't speak up. Maybe it's a mic setting or where it's located in the room.
I really wanted to hear your reaction, but the video sound was terrible. I’ll subscribe and hope for better audio on the next one
What, again ?
You need to turn down either the laptop or the tv. The echo is kinda distracting and you’re not hearing the song in its full glory.
The music audio is terrible quality, you should use the original digital audio track from the song
This is Liv and in 1 take
