@mw7217 I'm trying harder to make the known here in Brazil. I keep suggesting them to all my friends e colleagues everytime I can. I also bought Expert on dying field vynil and hear it almost everyday.
The thing I love about this band so much is the fact that everything they seems so homemade right down to the videos they are so uncorparate I hope they never change. This is one of my favourites.
"You say my name, My balance takes a little rest My conscience held under duress My twitching fingers do their best To keep their wandering selves in check My mind, it finds a new address This life is cursed, you're heaven blessed This human God, this honored guest Filling up the emptiness My lips are longing to confess, but I'll never tell, you'll never guess My heart beats harder at the cage Inside my chest And I die a little death" This. THIS is incredible lyricism. This is so incredibly romantic and earnest and lovely. Little Death might be one of the most notable love songs to come out of the last ten years. And it's still so indie!
La petite mort (the little death) is an expression which means "the brief loss or weakening of consciousness" and in modern usage refers specifically to "the sensation of post orgasm as likened to death."
I was just talking to a friend about the same thing. Some songs bring me to tears because of their sadness, but the Beths often bring me to tears of happiness because of how much I love their music.
Realizing I missed my moments with my "the one" after listening to the beths songs hurt me Especially this one , remembering everytime she said my name , I felt my world brighter and the feeling of something I can't name
I'm so glad I discovered you guys. You were being played on a radio station this independently supported by listeners in St Louis Missouri USA call letters KDHX 88.1 FM they broadcast worldwide on the internet and I got to say they were the ones responsible for introducing me to you. I believe if I have the title right that was the song don't go away that I heard played on their show called juxtaposition. I've been been listening to everything you do and I can't believe I was hooked on one song you guys are absolutely excellent I know I'm on the other side of the world but I hope I can see you live sometime. Keep up what you do it's great. We were listening to it at work, I'm a firefighter medic registered nurse. We kind of were trying to find out what genre we thought it fit into not that that matters. Everybody was commenting how much they like the juxtaposition of the angsty lovelorn lyrics against the shreddy fuzzy guitars and just fantastic harmonies that you all create. As far as title for the US here a little bit jangle-pop a little bit power pop a little bit nerd Rock. You remind us a lot of Matthew Sweet and Rick Nielsen also of Cheap Trick. You guys really are great thanks for doing what you do.
how did it take me 4 years to find this! Expert in a Dying field is all I have listened to for the last two days, but this is epic!!! Best song I have heard since Evan Dando's "All my life"
I usually listen to the same playlist over and over. Decided to just check out some related bands, and stumbled across this song. Absolutely amazing song. Literally can't believe it. Listen to ti all the time now. My only fear is the day I've listened to it one too many times and it because repetitive but something tells me that won't happen with a song like this. There's something about it. It's got that special something.
Discovered the beths by chance listening to radio on Christmas eve and I'm stoked about their music. Cool riffs, lot's of great hooks and love Liz's voice too.
It was beyond incredible to finally see you guys live this past Sunday in Sacramento, and especially great to see Little Death played to close out the show. A night I’ll always remember! So excited to see where the Beths go next
I just discovered The Beth’s a few days ago. Oh feck. Where have I been their whole career? I feel that I have wasted the last four years not listening to them every day.
I just discovered this artist while watching NZ news at midday they used this song as background of the weather forecast. And I tried to listened to the lyrics and typed it on google and yeah it comes out The Beths. I love this song now 😍
Lyrics When you're near My heart starts beating faster The world starts moving slower And I just freeze And it's cold, the steam escapes Through my lips and dissipates And you breathe it in We all breathe it in Your smile it makes me weak And the red spreads to my cheeks You make me feel three glasses in And you say my name My legs support a little less My tongue becomes a little mess My lips are longing to confess, uh My lungs they catch on every breath My heart beats harder at the cage inside my chest I die, I die a little death I die, I die a little death You come and go A lightning bolt in daytime That burns into my eyeline You're all I see There's no sign of the sun So the moon moves out in front She wants to be aligned We all want to be aligned And your voice it makes me weak I'm wasted when you speak You hit me hard as red wine And you say my name My legs support a little less My tongue becomes a little mess My lips are longing to confess My lungs they catch on every breath My heart beats harder at the cage Inside my chest I die, I die a little death I die, I die a little death I die, I die a little death I die, I die a little death You say my name (You said, you said) My balance takes a little rest (I'd die, I'd die) My conscience hung under duress (You said, you said) My twitching fingers do their best (I'd die, I'd die) To keep their wandering selves in check My mind it finds a new address (I'd die, I'd die) This life is cursed, you're heaven blessed (You said, you said) This human god, this honoured guest (I'd die, I'd die) Filling up the emptiness My legs support a little less (I'd die, I'd die) My tongue becomes a little mess (You said, you said) My lips are longing to confess (I'd die, I'd die) But I'll never tell, you'll never guess My lungs they catch on every breath (I'd die, I'd die) My heart beats harder at the cage (You said, you said) Inside my chest I die, I die a little death (You say my name) I die, I die a little death (You say my name) I die, I die a little death (You say my name) I die, I die a little death
Rock/punk/pop’s best kept secret. It can’t stay this way much longer. This band should rocket to the moon like Liz in this video.
Been listening to this album on repeat since July.

can’t believe music can be THIS good
ryen reynolds it’s really under rated
There still great music being made but you just need to know where to look
Moi aussi

Totally. NZ has a history of uncorporate bands cos we're so little and isolated.
"You say my name,
My balance takes a little rest

To keep their wandering selves in check
My mind, it finds a new address
This life is cursed, you're heaven blessed

Yeah. That's what i thought the song was going to be about. 😊😁
the beth's song writing is pretty amazing.
It's a quote the infamous Marquis De Sade (petite mort)
Huh thanks for the lil info😏
I'm so glad I discovered your band, Future Me Hates Me is more and more becoming my most-listened-album of the year :)
I agree, it's a fine album. I can't stop playing it.👍
What’s ur current most?
Such a great album, agreed!!!
Most definitely agree!
It's an absolute gem of an album.👌
This song is so perfect it makes me weep with joy. I'm not even kidding.
I was just talking to a friend about the same thing. Some songs bring me to tears because of their sadness, but the Beths often bring me to tears of happiness because of how much I love their music.
this song was SO good live
Just watched coachella live and randomly this song started playing. Absolute tune. Deserves more than 250k views!
Realizing I missed my moments with my "the one" after listening to the beths songs hurt me
Especially this one , remembering everytime she said my name , I felt my world brighter and the feeling of something I can't name
this song is going on loop for at least 3 hours.
I adore this sweet song; especially lyrics and backing vocals, “you make me feel three glasses in…” Yes, know the feeling. ❤️
I've spent my life listening to alternative artists, and love when I come across a band such as The Beth's. Keeps life just that more enjoyable!
RC's song of the day, nice.
rc always come through with the fire
it's actually perfect
This is without doubt their best song
I have a similar opinion, I love all of their songs tho so with doubt this is their best song
Well put 🙂
My favorite is Expert In A Dying Field. I just found them though and I'm enjoying it!
Best song on the album and best pop song of the year.
Totally didn't expect to see you here lol
Son.
@@MrRCalden pap
Is it really pop? I'd say indie rock
Can it really be pop without crazy over production and more than 4 musicians playing?
so in love w/the beths
can’t wait to see them live
The drum work is absolutely phenomenal, right about halfway just goes off!
The dude can definitely play. The pace of this song would tax a heavy metal drummer.
This song explodes out of headphones and makes you feel like they are in the room, the energy is insane
Why isn't this band world famous?? So good this! 🔥🔥
All their songs feel emotional in a very genuine way and I really appreciate that. I really love your music.
this is incredibly underrated :( it needs so much attention
My favorite song off the new record got a video! Awesome

Last chorus, goosebumps every time 🎶 🎶
I love this band so much it makes me depressed.
Bands like this are why i play music
This is unreal. Beautiful music.
Last chorus is absolutely incredible, amazing energy, amazing lyrics, what a tune.
LONG LIVE THE BETHS!

The album it's on is full of bangers, give it a listen
Wait. What? New tour dates listed in the video notes?!?! And coming to Texas - yay!!!!
Discovered the beths by chance listening to radio on Christmas eve and I'm stoked about their music. Cool riffs, lot's of great hooks and love Liz's voice too.
Best début LP this year 👏
Check out self titled by Retirement Party.
10 ten love songs on the decade.
Saw them perform live at the East Street Tap in Brighton, UK on Saturday 10th November - this was the brilliant finale of a stunning set 🙌🏻
It was beyond incredible to finally see you guys live this past Sunday in Sacramento, and especially great to see Little Death played to close out the show. A night I’ll always remember! So excited to see where the Beths go next
One of my favorite bands. Just exhilarating!
A friend just told me about them (lol, i'm out of the loop) -- anyway, this is *fantastic*
Chur, The Beths and Carpark Records for another great video and tune! Proud of you #KIWIBROCREW!
I just discovered The Beth’s a few days ago. Oh feck. Where have I been their whole career? I feel that I have wasted the last four years not listening to them every day.
Discovered you in Stockholm this Monday. You guys are incredible, can't get enough of this!
oh my god. love.
I’ll never tell, you’ll never guess
The Beth’s are a golden treasure. ❤
Love the song. Love the video. Love the whole thing.
The most romantic song I've heard.
I just discovered this artist while watching NZ news at midday they used this song as background of the weather forecast. And I tried to listened to the lyrics and typed it on google and yeah it comes out The Beths. I love this song now 😍
I feel this song with my whole heart.

This is one of the most perfect songs I have ever heard.
just the best (the beths)
Lyrics
When you're near
My heart starts beating faster
The world starts moving slower
And I just freeze
And it's cold, the steam escapes
Through my lips and dissipates
And you breathe it in
We all breathe it in
Your smile it makes me weak
And the red spreads to my cheeks
You make me feel three glasses in
And you say my name
My legs support a little less
My tongue becomes a little mess
My lips are longing to confess, uh
My lungs they catch on every breath
My heart beats harder at the cage inside my chest
I die, I die a little death
I die, I die a little death
You come and go
A lightning bolt in daytime
That burns into my eyeline
You're all I see
There's no sign of the sun
So the moon moves out in front
She wants to be aligned
We all want to be aligned
And your voice it makes me weak
I'm wasted when you speak
You hit me hard as red wine
And you say my name
My legs support a little less
My tongue becomes a little mess
My lips are longing to confess
My lungs they catch on every breath
My heart beats harder at the cage
Inside my chest
I die, I die a little death
I die, I die a little death
I die, I die a little death
I die, I die a little death
You say my name
(You said, you said) My balance takes a little rest
(I'd die, I'd die) My conscience hung under duress
(You said, you said) My twitching fingers do their best
(I'd die, I'd die) To keep their wandering selves in check
My mind it finds a new address
(I'd die, I'd die) This life is cursed, you're heaven blessed
(You said, you said) This human god, this honoured guest
(I'd die, I'd die) Filling up the emptiness
My legs support a little less
(I'd die, I'd die) My tongue becomes a little mess
(You said, you said) My lips are longing to confess
(I'd die, I'd die) But I'll never tell, you'll never guess
My lungs they catch on every breath
(I'd die, I'd die) My heart beats harder at the cage
(You said, you said) Inside my chest
I die, I die a little death
(You say my name)
I die, I die a little death
(You say my name)
I die, I die a little death
(You say my name)
I die, I die a little death
When I see your calm face singing those beautiful written songs I always fell better instantly, wish I had money to drive to your berlin show :I
Great song and video. Just discovered you via the event listing at Sierra Nevada brewery in Chico. See you Saturday! 🙌💛
Nice song. Heard it on the radio last night, and had to find out the artist.
Woah banger

Man, I love the vocal in this with the Dolores O'Riordan yodel in there. Amazing. You guys ROCK, all of you. Thanks for being!
