the best opera singing in history! When I was very young I heard him sing. It was as if he reached into every person's heart and touched our souls, and made us one. Everyone cried when he sang because he had the voice of an angel. He sang from his heart and soul RIP Maestro!

Every time I watch a react like this, I think he would be very happy to see this (unfortunately he passed away in 2007), because it was one of his greatest wishes to bring the opera to everybody - not only the "rich people" who can go to the great opera houses. He had a project called "Pavarotti & Friends". There he sang with different (non opera) singers and all the money from this concerts has been donated for children in war zones. "MICHAEL CRAWFORD in Concert 6/9:All Ask of You" and "MICHAEL CRAWFORD in Concert 7/9:The Music of the Night" a couple songs from the play. You have great reactions, makes it fun to watch.

I love when others find opera. I was raised on Pavarotti and a lot of Italian music. I have Italian blood and my grandmother who listen to it when she would cook. Check out Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra
Are there any better reactions on youtube than these to Pavarotti? I mean across the board. Nobody watches this without being moved. Those that resist are just as obvious by their silly comments and squirmy inability to acknowledge what they are feeling. This is so special. Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma will be just as moving in a hundred, a thousand years. Forever.

Please react to the song "Caruso" sung by Luciano Pavarotti. The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life. curiosity: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means (ragazzo) boy.
Dear Tracie, I am surprised how many reactors to Pavarotti remark about his voice. Yes, he has tirelessly trained and perfected the mechanics of voice and melody and all that. But that doesn't make goose bumps. Pavarotti communicates in the realm of the spirit. Where great art is viewed, where angels and God Himself live. It is his love for love that makes his song transcendent. Not his voice.
Loved your reaction! Hearing Pavarotti sing Nessun Dorma never fails to give me goosebumps, lol! Why not go the whole hog and watch the entirety of Turandot ua-cam.com/video/ltRdiafP0Us/v-deo.html Nessun Dorma (at the beginning of Act 3) is just the tip of the iceberg, and this particular production is presented in a sort of sci-fi inspired style so it is as visually stunning as the performances of the cast. In addition to Nessun Dorma you'll hear "Signore, ascolta!" (My Lord, listen!) in Act 1 which is so full of emotion it'll make you cry your eyes out, and in Act 2 the characters Ping, Pong and Pang sing "Ho uni casa n'ell Honan" (I have a house in Honan) that is such a beautiful song of yearning to be home instead of working in the service of the despotic Princess Turandot. If you enjoyed listening to Nessun Dorma you'll be bound to enjoy the rest of it!
It's opera, you don't need to know the lyrics just listen and read the story before hand...but you do need to not interrupt the performance, especially in the middle of a phrasing. If you're going to pause, then know how to pick your spots
