I think Hotaru should be in, transform him into the OrderRealm anti-hero leader that imposes his authority over the people (or take ideas from the Tokugawa Period of Japan), views order as lack of possibilities and necessary nationalism, and work around his firefly theme. I would like if he could also be percieved as 'insane', but not in the classic, Havik way, a control freak that heavily punishes the criminals (a crazy version of Philip IV of France).
He was a pretty boring ass character in Deception.. he was a good idea on paper but was poorly executed... If they can bring back Bo-Rai-Cho in MKX and make him super fun too play with.. I don't see why Hotaru can't get another chance
Doubt they'd even touch him. Remember they don't even like their 3D era stuff, let alone barely anything that isn't the 2D era games. Even that's shakey given how they treated characters like Kano,Kabal,Sindel, Etc.

I would love to see Shujinko make a return. Even as a cameo or perhaps in the story somehow. Something about the wise master aesthetic he has just does it for me. I love his mantis style and I think he’s a much more grounded replacement to Bo Rai Cho (whom I also love don’t get me wrong)
shujinko has been confirmed as a kameo!! well not confirmed technically but all the leaks have been true so far and it looks like he’ll be a kameo either in kp2 or on the base roster i can’t remember
Movado is one of the rumored Kameos if Hsu Hao is in he is most likely also a Kameo because so far nobody from the Dragons are playable. But I love Hsu Hao's Sun/Moon blades and if he is in there make that his main fighting style. Personally I don't think he needs to change. Also Nitara will be a lot of fun and fits the revived air combat feature in this game.
Such an amazing wishlist. I agree with every choice especially Sareena, Nitara, Havik, Reiko, Kai and Khameleon. I'd say Ashrah and Taven have big potential too. Ashrah has a very interesting design, great story line and moveset. Taven has great personality and he's half God which is already very intriguing.
Honestly when I watched this video my reaction to Hydro (who I’d never heard of) was “this character is NEVER coming back”, but I looked him up on the wiki and he was actually referenced in the MK11 challenge tower, so the devs haven’t forgotten about him. I still don’t really see him appearing since rain exists and is vastly more popular, but maybe a he could be a Rain skin, since MK1 seems like it’s going to have skins that change the characters’ identities (Johnny Cage John Claude Van Damme skin)
The great kung Lao would be a good character to play as. He’s probably the most overlooked character in the whole mk history as being playable. With this reboot it’s a good time for him to make a return

Agreed a whole 90% with this list, my only difference would be to replace Hydro with Ashrah Also, full on respect for aknowledging the potential the 3D era characters have, i am beyond tired at how NRS just keeps bringing up the 3D era just to shit on it when it was in my eyes when MK was at its most charming, some characters weren't grand slams, but if they just decided to stop with the MK1 to 3 pandering for one moment, and gave some of those characters a chance, they could become very loved and with tons of new stuff to bring to the table
I'm more interested in what the story ends up being because depending on the story we could see all sorts of different characters. One idea that I think would be pretty cool is if we had multiple realm mergers where instead of just Outworld merging we get multiple realms merging which would increase the pool of fighters available for the different realms. I mean according to the lore there are thousands of realms with 6 well known and few obscure that were merged with Outworld so seeing something where the 6 well known realms have begun merging with the unnamed and obscure realms would be pretty interesting.
I hope Reptile is more lizard then human. I personally like those versions of him better. I also think instead of a ninja he would look more like Rain.

I feel like since they’re making Rain more of a wizard than a ninja in the new timeline, Hydro would be the perfect balance for older fans who would otherwise prefer ninja Rain. Plus storywise he’d be perfect as a new cyborg, and maybe the new first Cyber Lin Kuei. You could play into his obscurity and make him the old forgotten Lin Kuei that became cyberized to regain prominence and power.
Personally, I would like to see Argus and Delia become playable characters some day. I want Havik and Drahmin to return in MK 1 I believe Havik is a lock to return as a playable character which is great but as for Drahmin sadly I don’t think he will return as a playable character but I definitely see him as a Kameo Fighter which I’ll take honestly
I don’t see what the bad thing is about Chameleon/Khameleon having their respective gender ninjas’ moves. I think it makes for a very interesting character seeing how the different ninjas’ moves can be used together in combos. I think it allow unique combos that only they could pull off and it would make their character stand out. It also makes sense for it to be this way since the ability of chameleons is to blend in with its environment, these characters blending in with their respective gender ninjas even down to the color. I loved Chameleon in both MK Trilogy & Armageddon and would hate to see him changed from how he was before.
Luckily Khamelon is shown to be a Kameo. So Chamelon is the one missing. I hope they change his name because I don't like them sharing the same name. He can still be named after an animal known for changing colors. Plus I think he will be a Kameo too because his story (lack thereof) makes him a background character. Which is perfect for the Kameo position

Sorry not a fan of hydro yet rain is just a better water bender. Skarlet and tremor were very different and brought something very new to the game. Hydro would bring what torpedos? I mean sektor kind of does that already.

Hydro and Rain should be combined into one character, not only would "Hydrain" be much more memorable/recognizable on the basis of their namesake due to the uniqueness of it, but I'd imagine it would add a level of character complexity to Rain by making him tied to both the Edinians and the Lin Kuei
i think its okay to giv the c/khameleon's copy cat moves with specials only but their specials maybe change if they change colour or some sort of cool mechanic for when they go a different colour

Hydro and Rain should be combined into one character, not only would "Hydrain" be much more memorable/recognizable on the basis of their namesake due to the uniqueness of it, but I'd imagine it would add a level of character complexity to Rain by making him tied to both the Edinians and the Lin Kuei

i think its okay to giv the c/khameleon's copy cat moves with specials only but their specials maybe change if they change colour or some sort of cool mechanic for when they go a different colour

Motaro was playable in MK3/UMK3 as well as trilogy as well. MK3/UMK3 had him playable atleast on the snes port being I owned both via input cheat

All of the characters revealed in the Lin Kuei trailer were a part of the Lin Kuei, except for Rain. Could this mean that Rain joins the Lin Kuei and becomes Hydro? I think it would be awesome to see him in MK1.
