I'm crying holy shit. It never ceases to amaze me how music can capture emotions and feelings and portray them even more vividly than the written word. studding.
We use the sounds of instruments to replicate the singing and crying of emotional beings (us), the very emotional soul of us we can replicate in these instruments, this expression of soul isn’t a binary exchange of information as words are.....it is the depth of emotion and soul that is the essence of music
There's always been a certain type of enhanced color and sheer luminosity about this film. I've always loved The Great Gatsby and just...this solo violin kills me every time.
" After Gatsby's death, New York was haunted for me. That city. My once golden shimmering mirage now made me sick. On my last night in New York, I returned to that huge incoherent house once more. Wolfsheim's associates had cleaned it out. I remembered how we had all come to Gatsby's and guessed at his corruption while he stood before us concealing an incorruptible dream. The moon rose higher and as I stood there brooding on the old, unknown world, I thought of Gatsby's wonder when he first picked out the Green Light and the end of Daisy's dock. He had come such a long way and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly fail to grasp it. But he did not know that it was already behind him. Gatsby believed in the Green Light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then but that's no matter. tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. . . . And then one fine morning. So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back, ceaselessly into the past." By Nick Carraway Very inspiring how Gatsby spent this whole time luring Daisy to his luxurious parties as part of the incorruptible dream
Future or not, The Green Light shines with mystery... I only hope Mr. Gatsby or Mr. Carraway would of known that The Green Light sooner meant only Flashbacks, Sorrow, and maybe a chance for Mr. Gatsby to get what he desire, but that all change... Now everyone learns their lesson... You can't repeat the past or that shit can get you killed. May You Rest In Peace, Mr Gatsby.
Sorry for my shipper feels, but just watched the film a second time and wasn't intending to take it seriously at first, but then I realized how much Nick loved Gatsby and how they should've ended together instead...then the end scene with Nick on the pier seeing a ghost Gatsby reaching for the green light just popped up and, wasn't prepared for it, I suddenly burst into tears. That last part where Gatsby turned around and smiled at Nick is as if he's finally realizing who really loved him all these times...not Daisy, but Nick.
what the f is with you all trying to make everyone a gay.... Fitzgerald wrote this almost 100 years ago. A man can admire another man without being gay. Don't taint this wonderful book, and the memoir of the man that wrote it, with your moderne nonsense.

I love Tobey Maguire’s narration! He gave a truly underrated performance as Nick Carraway!

The story of a man who loved a woman. That woman didn't deserved that love... and that man. Definitly.
absolutly fitting with the last scene, sad music&sad story

Massive bioshock 2 vibes with this, and I can’t be the only one.
