It's been a evolution and really only the BPM was different. Sounds and styles passed over. MCs been spitting on tracks since early raves 🤣 Some early hardcore jungle is not far from a grime tempo. The 4-4 beat just got removed and speed garage, 2 step was born. It was producers from other scenes influenced Wiley, dizzie ect..from jungle dnb funky house.two step. Dub step, bassline hip hop reggae soul and funk..No1 can claim shit really cus them all took something from someone else. Grime came after Dub step 2 step bassline and drum and bass jungle. Other mcs were spitting before dizzie was born lol evolution like I said. They all should pay homage instead of claiming godfather status.

It didn’t sound like the genres you’ve described but I love U by dizzee came out before Wiley’s creeper. Diz was making music at school as he was thrown out of most of his classes and Wiley would’ve heard it, as he took him under his wing.
