    The Hala Hala project made by j-tinys was successful! We even got media coverage for it!! Good job everyone, even a little project like this can make a big difference in how ateez are perceived by the media so it's important that we spread the word as much as we can!

    QUEEZDOM made a VERY GOOD POINT when they said: You're supposed to feel how tired ATEEZ are just by watching the performance. And we know that ATEEZ really do get tired from HALA-HALA because its that hard. That is the benchmark. If one wants to do a cover of HALA-HALA, one have to perform it so hard, that even those who are watching feels tired.

    • @eterniteez

    This is by far my favorite analysis. I wholeheartedly agree with your statements on why Hala Hala is that bitch cause of what the song demands. It's one of k-pop's most difficult songs to cover for that very reason.

    • @eterniteez
      @eterniteez  2 роки тому +11

      Thank you so much! And yes I believe what drew me to the performance originally was demanding it was overall. It's not just the dance technicalities or the vocal ones but also the acting and immersion skills it requires. I've never really seen anything like it before in kpop. Not to that level at least.

      @@eterniteez the acting, immersion skills, stage presence, even the simplicity of theatrical performances are what set Ateez apart, and put them in a unique category separate from 4th generation groups. They are breaking the mold of the stereotypical k-pop standards. You see a lot more idols now trying to embody the similar energy ateez carries now.

    • @eterniteez
      @eterniteez  2 роки тому +9

      agreed 100% we will definitely be seeing more groups venture into the theatrical aspect in the next years but it's not an easy feat to pull it off. it requires a lot of harmony and synergy in the group which is rare. ateez are really one in a million in that aspect.

      @@eterniteez I agree, critiquing isn't hating at all. netizens doesn't take construct criticism very well. I think some of us (atinys) are timid now because we've been branded as haters for wanting justice over JYPE plagiarizing ATEEZ. Thanks for reminding me that having an opinion is perfectly fine.

    • @eterniteez
      @eterniteez  2 роки тому +12

      yeah i believe the fandom is trying to police, in a way, others from saying anything negative so we don't "tarnish" ateez's reputation. ateez had 3 cases of others plagiarizing them in the past 2 months and as every fandom would have done, we have been loud about getting justice. but we've mostly been met with more negative responses. so of course the fandom is tired from receiving all the backlash and I understand that. However, that doesn't mean that we should just stop having opinions that may be "controversial" just because of all that has happened.

    literally everything i thought about the cover performance and Hala Hala in general were all included here i love it XD i personally always referred to Hala Hala and even Wonderland as "organized chaos" and it's why the "crazy" facial exressions match the theme of the songs perfectly and with the energy and live vocals on top of that its just artistic perfection and it's why you can't take your eyes off of them...even the members of ATEEZ themselves have said they get so immersed in their roles on stage that they see expressions they never knew they had before and that says a lot..just looking pretty for the camera doesn't cut it and it takes a lot of courage to do this as well i love this analysis video!

    • @eterniteez

      i was just reading recently about how they said they get so immersed in their performances they don't remember themselves doing all the things they do on stage and get surprised when they watch it back like "when did we do that" 😆 it really just goes to show what great performers they are because at the moment, they don't care about how they look they just care about truly bodying the characters that are required for each song.

    i think another good point (and i've seen people point it out in atinytwt) is that not only were they taught various styles of dance in L.A. but are COMMITTED to these styles.
    In reaction videos you'll see U.S. choreographers recognize the end of HALA HALA as a well-executed example of krumping, ofc originating from Black dancers in the United States. ATEEZ refused to water down this style to something more """digestible""" and typical in kpop choreographies and that's what is so intense, powerful (and divisive) about it.

    • @eterniteez
      @eterniteez  2 роки тому +3

      that's a great point yes! it makes me respect them even more as artists and it pains me when others mock these dances inspired by other countries and cultures just because kpop stans are used to seeing the "picture perfect clean" dances all the time and don't know how to appreciate something different so they resort to ridiculing it.

    This is by far the best analysis of Hala Hala there is. Your comment on them covering and letting only their eyes show with no visual element to stand out except for their expressions (seen only thru the eyes) and their talent is on point. The exact reason why I can't bring myself to like another group for their performance, only ATEEZ. I can only like others for their personality. ATEEZ really did raise the standard.

    • @eterniteez

    5:01 what’s worse is that the comments are full of praise for the vocals. I was so confused that I went back and listened again to make sure I didn’t hallucinate how not good they sounded.
    Dancing: I have no complaints about their dancing. Realistically, they are trainees on an obscure survival show that is only being aired on 1THEk (I think) of course they aren’t going to be on the level of a monster rookie that everyone said had felt like part of the industry for years.
    Facial expressions: they were all super nervous, the judges commented on it.This was also their very first performance on the show ever.
    I think some of the critiques are expecting too much of these kids.
    Overall they exceeded my expectations, but that doesn’t mean it was anywhere close to Ateez’s performance.

    when ateez performs, they aren't playing a character - they ARE the character. they get so immersed in their performance, it's like the only thing that is in their minds is this character. there are so many videos of san online 'snapping' into character, or getting 'possessed', right before the song starts. this is the transition between 'normal' san and his character. you can see them sort of flipping a switch and transforming into this whole different person. THAT is why they are so amazing on stage. it's just so hard to cover ateez because you have to really immerse yourself and not hold back on the expressions.

    The guy in the white shirt has the most potential with regards to the stage presence part of this group. He didn't seem to care so much about his 'prettiness' factor when not in the centre. He feels like he gets it the most, he understands more than the others and I wonder if they were told to tone it down. It doesn't make sense to pick this song/group then, as you point out, smirk or raise an eyebrow at most. There's a disconnect between the two, some factor that explains why black-tie-guy did so well on the side of frame but not at the centre... 🤔

    Thank you for this, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I loved how you mentioned the fact that they wear identical outfits that hide their identity to show off the performance element because I personally believe that ATEEZ is one of the best groups in terms of showing individual dance styles. While they’re performances are of course in sync and together, that’s not their main focus. They allow each member to perform their part with their own style and you can identify each of them in the HALA HALA performance just by how they dance - something rather unique especially for 4th gen idols.
    This is where my issue starts with the team b performance and recent trainees/groups in general. I feel like the companies and trainees have gotten so wrapped up in trying to get the ‘knife-like’ in sync choreography and being ‘perfect’ that they lose what makes them unique and stand out in the industry. Too many times have I seen groups dancing perfectly in sync with safe facial expressions to look good on camera, lip syncing to auto-tuned vocals so as to generally appear ‘perfect’ to viewers. I personally do not like these kind of performances because it doesn’t feel real, it doesn’t have the same appeal as a live performance. Where ATEEZ excel is their live performances: stunning vocals, powerful and engaging choreography as well as an unrivalled stage presence (that they’ve had since debut). This really sets them apart from the crowd as you can see their energy and get sucked into the performance. However, I feel like team b were victims of the industry in their strive for ‘perfection’ to the point that they lost what made HALA HALA so good in the first place.
    I could go on but I think it’s more than obvious that ATEEZ are a truly talented and special group.
    (No hate to group b, I’m sure they’ll grow to be a good group as well once/if they debut).

    • @eterniteez
      @eterniteez  2 роки тому

      i agree on everything you said and you also made a point i forgot to mention in the video which is just as important. the industry is striving for perfection when that is impossible because human nature itself is not perfect and trying to mold something into being perfect, takes away from that human characteristic. When i see performances like the ones you explained I feel very disconnected because I don't feel the genuineness of the idols performing. Worrying too much about being in sync and sharp and clean just takes me out of the performances. That's why when I found ateez it was like a breath of fresh air. It's very rare in kpop to find a group full of people who genuinely love what they do and show it to the best of their abilities through their performances.

    This is such a good breakdown on how much of a masterpiece Hala hala is and how difficult it is to perform. I've seen many rookies do dance covers of this and by far, it really did not par with ateez's standard of performing it. I was really happy tho when I saw that Team b performed this on their show but just like you, there are still a lot of room for improvements especially the singing part and their energy, which I kinda expected. As an Atiny since Say My Name era, I've been watching Ateez's performance for almost 3 years now that it raised my standards A LOT. No offense but, I cannot even finished other group's performances as I easily get bored, that's just how much Ateez changed my perspective of live performances. I just don't get how even now, antis still use Hala hala as a drag as if they've really researched on what the song is about. They totally need to stop shelling themselves with the typical kpop stages and actually start delving in to the higher realm of commitment in terms of performance, not afraid of looking like a demon on stage. Ateez does that, which easily captured my attention and made me an atiny from just one performance. Hala hala is a legend and I strongly believe it would remain one til the next generation of kpop.

    Nunca tan de acuerdo con la parta de Expresiones faciales.. recientemente los artistas han emoezado con lo de facial expession .. pero no quiere decir que tengan Presencia escenica. Ademas, si no estas inmerso en el papel las facciones seran muy planas y sin emociones o exageradas.. sin importar cuanto lo intentes. ATEEZ es sin duda un grupo con Presencia escenica y expresiines faciales que transmiten el mensaje de la musica.👌👏👏

    They did try to do a good job and I'm happy they did But, they could've done better.
    Also, the autotune gives me JYP vibes. 😂😂
