A certain amount of POC/different races & ethnicities feel shame like she does now - but instead they’re ashamed of their skin colour. That’s permanent for them though, they’re trapped and it is no choice unlike an off tan. If she can educate herself properly and apply this way of thinking I think she will eventually realise her unintentional ignorance. Theres no malice behind it... just ignorance on her part.
