    I think the main cause of my puberphonia is social anxiety. When I talk to myself, I sound deep. However, when talking with strangers or other people, I sound high-pitched like usual even though I practiced speaking in a deeper voice. I guess I tense up in social situations due to my anxiety. I'm a male who's in his early 20s so this sucks

      How to fix it

    • @holup977
      @holup977 2 роки тому +9

      Hey don't worry about it,
      it happens with everyone
      basically, the voice in your head is not the same because it is heard by vibration of your bones or something
      But to other people (and recorders)it is heard after passing through air.
      So how you sound in recording might sound weird/high pitched to you but to others it is normal.
      My advice would be to listen to a ton of recordings of your self until your recorded voice feels normal, many radio/podcast hosts, UA-camrs report that after a while you're recorded voice just feels normal

    Hi everyone! If you have a childish voice, you should consult with an ENT-doctor and endocrinologist. The sooner -- the better especially if you are still a teenager or a little older than teen age in order to be in time with treatment. The cause of a childish voice may be problems with hormones especially if you also look much younger than your age.
    Firstly go to an ENT to check up what's going on with your vocal folds and secondly go to an endocrinologist, if it's needed, to consult about your hormonal status.
    After consulting with these two doctors (or maybe one -- ENT: you may use your voice mechanism in an inproper way) you may also need to work with a speech-language pathologist besides medical treatment.
    I wish you all good health and voice!

For the one in speech therapy, his therapist sent us this video to practice the notch activation. On average, girls begin puberty at ages 10-11 and complete puberty at ages 15-17; boys generally begin puberty at ages 11-12 and complete puberty at ages 16-17.[1][2][3] The major landmark of puberty for females is menarche, the onset of menstruation, which occurs on average between ages 12 and 13.[2] For males, first ejaculation occurs on average at age 13.[4] In the 21st century, the average age at which children, especially girls, reach puberty is lower compared to the 19th century, when it was 15 for girls and 16 for boys.[5] This can be due to any number of factors, including improved nutrition resulting in rapid body growth, increased weight and fat deposition,[6] or exposure to endocrine disruptors such as xenoestrogens, which can at times be due to food consumption or other environmental factors.[7][8] Puberty which starts earlier than usual is known as precocious puberty, and puberty which starts later than usual is known as delayed puberty.

      If you're anxious around someone, you'll involuntarily heighten your voice. I'm the same. My voice is already high, but when I'm around anyone and I have to speak, it gets even higher.
      It happens if you're around your crush, or if you're generally socially anxious.

    I’m 19 and my voice is high and often squeaky or not predictable.I work in construction amd people can never hear me. I’m also short and skinny so I’m basically always treated like a kid. I also have major chiropractic issues which no one’s been able to help and I can’t afford more doctors. I wonder if my voice has to do with my structural problems because my jaw started popping and locking up so bad I had to get an orthotic mouth piece to change my bite and I feel strange things in my neck and I have to chew slowly. But then I have like a different voice for yelling if I want to yell really loud but I don’t use it cause people are shocked when they hear it.
