JULIA NOBIS walking like a supermodel on this runway is best thing ever, glad she still works as a model
Because raf loves her so much since he is a creative and director for dior
Never knew how much I wanted to wear a firefighter jacket.....
I think Raf Simon is becoming more and more comfortable taking risks at CK and I love it!
Beau it is a trend, as is the uniform look. But he was able to reinterpret it into something we haven't seen. By being simultaneously on trend and distinctive he created something that is interesting and new but still relatable.
Cause there are no Risks in Level 1 of Fashion, But he sure Failed big time in the Big Leagues.
deecakes Into something we never seen? Take a closer look in the 80s and the 90s, my buddy. If you separate the pieces, sadly, but true, only the embroideries and the prints are unique...
This is the perfect example of “batty presentation, incredible garments”. This is fashion show 101 people, shock with the show, but wow with the pieces. Dissect the looks and you’ll see gorgeous floor grazing skirts, chic textiles, luxurious knits, wearable footwear, and one of a kind coats. Mark my works, well see a few firefighters traipsing around 5th avenue this fall. One thing is for sure, Raf hit the ground running trying to create a new signature for both himself and the house and I think he’s killing it. Like Gucci, he’s completely modernized a heritage brand with this high street thrift store chic. It’s forward and directional, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
PatisserieBoy, first, I am a fan of your writing, and POV. But, I have to say that this was way too messy for the CK brand. I was getting too strong a whiff of Vestiments and Balenciaga. It's a good thing the styling was wacky, because there really was not that much here that is new, except for the knit hoody. A few good pieces, mostly the coats, but I for one am getting the original fireman's coat, and not some $4000 version.
I agree that this is a departure for CK.....I really do miss the chic minimalism of Costa and Klein....I worshipped at the alter of Francisco Costa for years...but I also think that ship has sailed. Minimalism is dormant and conspicuous consumption is having a moment. I'm often conflicted between allowing a new designer complete creative license, and expecting them to honor the codes of the brand. I don't know how to explain it, but something feels right about Raf pulling CK rapidly forward. It was in danger of becoming stale. As for things being "new"....there isn't much that's really very new anyway. Shapes, textiles, detailing, appliqué, silhouettes, colors....it all get's recycled and rehashed. Name a designer in the past few years that's done something that's both truly innovative and wearable at the same time?
PatisserieBoy I can’t wait to get a pair of cowboy boots
One of the best CK collection ever
Calvin Klein choosing Raf as Creative Director was the best move this brand has made thus far
Saved New York Fashion Week
That's sad.
It's great to see Freja Beha in very well selected shows. Great collection btw
This is such a well curated show, every single look is so innovative and layered with such exquisite taste. He is the definition of a designer.
I honestly think this is the best collection in NYFW
Finally! A 2018 show I can get with.
Literally just staring at Bill.
I feel like raf at calvin is doing an incredible job of keeping every show feeling new while still having a signature aesthetic
Looks like Calvin Klein has moved into the 21st Century. Loved it!
Different colors on the shirt pocket flaps ! What an ingenious idea !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really think Delores will be great in all them outfits, also think William too!! Love the collection
Thank you Raf!! You've totally re-invigorated and brought life back to CK!!
I love all those little pull over winter caps they'll really cute......I do a lot of knitting so I'll try to make me one ......I use to see those ski-hats everywhere but never paid any attention to them at all ......and I like those fireman -coats also something different for the winter......they can keep the long skirts... save that maybe for the summer time ........
Revisiting this collections during the panoramic
4:17 Kaia slays once again
That set is just incredible.
I'm sorry but I dead as started laughing at 8:18😂 We using foil paper now!?! If I would be sitting in front of Sebastian Stan, Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman, AND Laura Dern! I would pass out!!
i love it. im sorry. i just do. thank you.
Raf used the same track as his Dior show... I love it.
I love ck and this designer is🔥🔥
RS is a frigging genius 😎🎉🎉🎉🎉♥️
I love the men’s boots can’t wait to get a pair. Best boots ever. The cowboy boots
10:39 nicole kidman, margot robbie and sebastian stan OHMYFUCKISNGOD LEGENDS ONLY
Nikōru Hahah yess that's the only reason why I'm watching this😂😂
Really workin with that neon!
Lots of silliness here.
I wonder how this aesthetic will translate into the other diffusion lines. Definitely some challenging styling on some looks.
In the beginning I thought they were wearing hazmat suits. Are athey wearing these to work at the nuclear power plant in Amish country?
Fantastic collection! oh the background track is amazing as well! :)
great collection
You sense vibes from Dries Van Noten, the shapes and proportions, but who cares. This is the best of NYFW no doubt. Calvin Klein used to be my favorite brand when Calvin himself designed the collections, and boy am i glad Raf Simons brought it back to the top. I do hope to see more of Brooke Shields iconic images in the clothes because that was the sickest detail of the collection last season. American fashion is back at the top again. Yahoo!
Models casting was perfect. Thanks for that. A lot of the models used today especially male models don’t do nothing for the clothing or brands and are crappie looking. Thank you for using a classy group of models to work the popcorn 🍿 walkway oops runway....huh side eye 👁
Looooove this!
And Kaia is wearing almost the exact same outfit as the one she wore for the Spring/Summer 2018 show. They just added boots.
Can't decide if I hate it or understand it. Its' not original Calvin Klein or Francisco Costa who carried on the original aesthetic of sexy minimalist body con American sportstwear.
REAL TALK. Unless they CK $$$$ feels it needs to go in another direction. Not a TRACE of CK.
Julia!!!
Is she an exclusive for CK? I know she retired but it's nice seeing her on the runway again.
young fresh cool love it
Ping Pong by Platikman. Amazing soundtrack
Music: Plastikman (Richie Hawtin) - Ping Pong
Thanks for confirming this. I’ve been trancing out here for ten minutes thinking “damn this sounds a lot like Plastikman!”
How to walk down the street when it's -25 degrees and look amazing!
went to the store earlier to see the clothes and most pieces are so wearable separately
After all these years CK FINALLY has something to say! Is it interesting? Maybe? Maybe not? The fact that the clothes are "talking" after all these years is something.
Popcorn as snow, the achingly self conscious style, the ever present feeling of immediate danger as a visual gimmick and as a soundtrack. It’s dark, it’s preposterous, it's layered, and full of American film references. Clearly, it’s hiding something. It’s Raf’s semiotic take on America today! All smok(ing gun) and mirrors.
I can imagine it will divide many; and maybe that’s the point (CK doesn’t need to sell "clothes", perfume, jeans and underwear make the $’s). I suspect we should take it apart piece by piece and look even further. Perhaps there is nothing there! Bingo! A cinematic nightmare.
Anyway, it’s a bold move that needed to be made to try and revive a rather dead brand (from a design perspective). And it worked! It reminds me of very early Marc Jacobs, when he was being ironic! But RAF is being deadly serious. “Make CK Great Again”!!!! Exactly! Fashion isn’t about style anymore it’s about politics and identity! And RAF knows this!
eu até gostei mas há alguns pontos a serem considerados:
- para onde vai toda essa pipoca do chão? pro lixo?
- pena a trilha original não estar presente
- os trabalhadores urbanos estão com tudo
finally .
loved it
MY FAVOURITE COLLECTION HE HAS DONE FOR CALVIN KLIEN! ❤️
Finally, NYFW wakes up!
MICAAAAAA!
Knit sweaters, crossing guard/ multiple patters. Boxy oversized fits, and my favorite, the men’s thigh high boots
John McNally I love the boots too
Galavant Goldman XOXO
Popcorn floor. Amazing. Yet pointless and a sad way to waste corn.
Annelie Se. it must be fake pop corn lol
No ! it´s real corn !
the pop corn wasn't edible and it was covered in pesticide.
Hahahaha so funny this soundtrack is in other Dior's video by raf simons xD
Goth meets Alaskan upper middle class, circa 1950's. The shortage of design and effort for the sleek and dynamic of original Klein is not apparent. People like myself, who can wear designs, closer to the body, may agree. Winter at Iceland or The North Pole is seemingly inspired here. The sweaters and coats seem second hand at best, but, mostly give the enterprising onlooker, a great deal of knowledge to imitate something so simple. Winter is elegant and comfortable. Winter is not alumu-foil-second hand-lets-go-visit the nearest fire station.
The silhouettes are very unpleasing, the references seam dull and altogether messy. SS18 was fresh, precisely portraying a serial-killer-housewive, reinterpreting cowboy garments (by doing so, even setting one of the biggest trends for 18) and working different textiles experimentally. The one thing I really love about this mess is the popcorn bags, the new ad campaign printed all over them.
OH!!! IS that what it was??? I thought it was a waste basket they were carrying. I thought he was making a comment on all of these messy looks. Silly me.
Haha!
Bravo Raf!!!
Obviously there are a lot of people praising this because it's Raf. Really sad.
Juan Cruz Bravo EXACTLY. same boring shit with touches of kitsch here and there like the Roadrunner images and people call it experimental.
@ Nick, intellectual???? Really??? In DECADES??? What are you talking about??? Thank GOD for the wacky styling, because there really was not much here that was new, or interesting other than the fireman's coat. And for that, I am getting the original, not some $4000 version. I was getting a strong whiff of Vesiments and Balenciaga here, anything but pure Calvin. This was way too messy for the CK brand.
You nailed it. Not a TRACE OF CALVIN !
Thank God someone said it!
I like music I like this but... you’re right. I wouldn’t call this CK if I didn’t know it was, this has so many Balements elements.
feels like streetwear
Now where does one go wearing these red neon tape clothes? Go to put out fire??
What’s the song name?
Same runway music as Dior haute couture fall winter 2013
First soundtrack: ping pong - Richie Hawtin
@1:38 She covered her aurat perfectly
anybody know the soundtrack ???
OMG!! I love this collection, so cool n risky!! Freja, Mica😍😍 and Julia, I miss her 💓✨✨✨
Freja👏🏻, Julia👍🏻, Mica🤢🤮.
The Library Is Now Open I can't see the last emojis so Mica 💖
Same music from Dior haute couture fall winter 2013/14 when Raf was the creative director of Dior, interesting !
julia nobis
酷哦~這種無腰身設計,我喜歡。
Noone was triggered by the food wasted so someone could make...a creative catwalk???
Natalie westling rocks!!!
I saw it on my pillow
Julia Nobis
I have enough with oversized shoulder though
Mabey im missing something but can somebody explain what the appeal of these cloths are?
Simply decadent. They are, for goodness sake, walking on food. What the fuck. This is just immoral, and not “original”, as some comments said. So fucked up.
Sylla Atlas the popcorn runway way awful but I like the menswear especially the boots I can’t wait to get
Galavant Goldman Sure the collection istelf was good. But the runway simply tasteless.
why in the shop everythin is horrible but here is cool :(
CALVIN KLEIN
Wtg Leila!!!
all that popcorn on the floor :( food waste is not fun.
I liked the collection. The styling was great. The set. The Models. I didn't see a TRACE of CK! Are we to forget what CK aesthetic was??? Can you imagine a TRUE CK shopper? Last season was even more confusing. Feed back, HELP me understand!
epperson studio American cowboy futuristic mars space 5th Ave heartland America
Does expensive out fits look like what a poor man would wear
A bit Dynarod on a night shift in Tromso, but still good and new
Is this an homage to the Cali fires?
Natasha Medeiros RIGHT!!! I mean...🙄 I feel bad for the models bc those outfits look hot
Classic
This is way more Balenciaga than Calvin Klein. A really messy Balenciaga, tho
Freja!!!
Beam me up Scottie.
Looks like something from Star Wars movies.
some walk on food, when some have nothing to eat
hi VIZ iz snot Calvin, there's a lot of good stuff here...this aint America's Calvin Klein....where's my wand.
VETEMENTS+JCREW+JOSEPH+HUGO BOSS RED...Nice Marketing for selling Jeans and Undies tho! That´s all.
Loved the show. I’m so happy he diverted away mostly from that western theme he did for the past 2 seasons. Loved the high boots for men and the oversized sweaters. I love how he and his team took a chance and didn’t do the expected.
diverted away from the western theme ? half the show is amish dresses and the other half is the western shirt with contrast pocket flaps in 50 colour combinations. The knitwear and coats are really good but yeah, its again highlighting how conservatism is the new counterculture and how populism is the new punk. The luxury world is enamored with the mundane, the so called thrift store chic. Reminds me of how Marie Antoinette used to dress up as a farmer woman in her fake fresh country village and have freshly laid eggs cleaned from anything nasty.
I think he pulled away from the theme, but not completely...that's a smooth transition. The man is trying to build somewhat of a signature and he seems to be pulling from all aspects of Americana, whether it be singing cowboy shirts, prairie dresses, fireman's jackets, patchwork, etc. It was a nod to his past few collections, but MUCH more complete of a picture. And the "thrift store chic" is merely how its put together. When you look at pieces individually (which buyers do, and in turn, so will consumers), they're fully realized and directional on their own...that's why it looks like a mess. But, he has to show his collection somehow.
Nothing about this collect I like🤷🏽♀️
Lah Body u couldn’t afford it
Vuitton meets Gucci
Breaking Bad bred with Crash test Dummies
Music from Dior HC FW 2013/14... Which suits the show indeed!
ummmmm, was it me or did this look a bit “guccyfy’d”
Apologize to Wil E and Roadrunner!
