    Being an INTJ, I think INFP helps us be more in touch with our feelings.

    INTJ's have sexy brains. I think that's why we like you. Just like how INTJ's are drawn by the vastness of our imaginations, we are much the same about you. And when INFP and INTJ talk about deep subjects, it's like the big bang creating a whole new place to think and share ideas.
    Ya'll can also keep us to a schedule because god knows I can't complete a timetable to save a life.

    I am an INFP and my partner is an INTJ. What attractive us to each other were our shared beliefs and mysteriousness of the other person. It's as if we are so a like, but so completely different. There are things in him that I find so attractive, interesting and mysterious. He has said the same about me. I think what kept us together in the early years was this extreme unexplainable attraction to each other. We would both get very loss in our personality types the first couple of years together. It was as if we were being pull together like two magnets. Even when my INFP was too hard to understand and his INTJ was too much to handle, we were always charmed by one another. He's also older and I am younger, so that didn't help matters sometimes.
    Now that it's been 13 years together that bond and attraction that pulls us together is stronger than ever. We are aware of how we have helped each other in personalities. I always say it's as if we sanded the edges off of each others personalities. He made me think more about my future. To not get so caught up in my feelings in heated moments and think a little more. He made me more secure in myself. To be with an INTJ, you have to know who you are and not let that go. He also saw my talents and made me believe in them. I helped him be more in tune with others feelings. To not be so thoughtless in his opinions and things he says. To see things in a different way. To wing it a little more often and let things happen. It's as if I can talk and feel with emotions he's not always able to express.
    Together we make each other better people.

    I’m an INTJ-T, who fell in love with an INFP I’d been friends with since fourth grade, I discovered I had feelings for her my Freshman year of High School. Too bad I found out that she’s a lesbian. I was rejected September 3’rd of 2019, and still haven’t been quite able to let go of my one true love.

    I think our attraction to INFPs has more to do with complementarity and unconscious fulfilment than immediate rational similarities. If you want to see an INTJ fall head-over-heels and completely lose their bearings, show them an INFP. Obviously I still have a soft spot for INFP men, but in terms of attraction to INFP women, they're kind of a perfect princess in the way no other type is. That said, INFPs are _much_ more intellectual than people give them credit for, it's just they're more likely to be geared towards the philosophical than the hard scientific. INFPs are *very* easy to talk to, and we can start up an hours-long conversation immediately.
    In our attempts to re-design the world, INFPs are the people we are designing it for. Or in other terms, when the nuclear apocalypse begins, we have a space reserved for you in the bunker (and we're hoping you'll be there).

    As an INFP, this INTJ is unpredictable yet knows what he's doing that all I remember is everything he does being intentional. While I come across as the other way around, seeming like I'm unsure of myself when I already made a firm judgment in my head. These types fascinate me in how they are perceivers at heart but seem to be confident w/ everything they're doing.

    I'm an INFP , I have some INTJ friends, I enjoy talking with them, but sometimes they seem a bit too caught in themselves and talking about whats bothering them. I obviosly instinctively try to mend and help with their problems, but they keep closing until they burst, one has anger issues and the other just falls into depression and self loathing.
    My overall view of INTJs is that they're really interesting beings with a good way of making thinks work, and excellent plans.
    Nice vid, both of you are lovely :) .

    • @CasualCognition
      @CasualCognition  7 років тому +12

      INFP: Thanks! And that's interesting! I know an INTJ who, when stressed, unleashes his repressed Se, which drily describes negative events in concrete detail, all building up to one Ni big problem. This can seem a bit self-absorbed, as sometimes the Se details are so specific that I have no idea what he's talking about. My Ne and Si tend to build analogies around the problem, relating it to more universal concepts and emotions.

    • @CasualCognition
      @CasualCognition  7 років тому +12

      INTJ: Thanks! I can definitely relate to that, we're not the most personable when we're caught up in in our problems, and can struggle to get ourselves out of that negative mindset. But that's no excuse, make sure you maintain healthy boundaries with them :)

    *Disclaimer: lengthy comment ahead!*
    One of the people I looked up to was my college professor (but more like a dad to me) who is an INTJ. He admired my Fi-dom side, possibly because we both hold to same values and beliefs and with his age he is more comfortable using it now. We occasionally have after-class conversations that is Fi fueled and even taps my Te by encouraging me to act upon them. I'm sure he treated every student with equal professionalism and fairness (I didn't get higher grade other than what I deserve and I'm grateful for it) and offered the same academical assistance though he claimed (after graduation) that he was closer to me than most due to my dom and his tertiary function connection which he rarely get with other students. He's blunt and would tell you what you need to hear; won't sugarcoat it but coming from him somehow is easier to take cause he's more sensitive to how his words will be received (probably because of developed Fi). Would like you to act and make sensible, logical decisions but can be considerate (sometimes before he responds I sense him trying to put himself in others shoes even if he suggests practical solutions). He values honesty and influenced me to be more forthright (INFP tendency to be indecisive and to beat around the bush). Also, I learned that INTJ would go extra mile in helping you out if you matter to them.
    I admire his Ni-Te A LOT. He has lots of practical and efficient approaches up on his sleeves that he would easily share when asked, and of course that laser-sharp focus on his tasks. It has helped me (as well as many other students for sure) especially when he was my Thesis Advisor. Being in IT field, my Ne often do me more harm than good but he appreciates it anyway, said I often bring him options he hasn't considered and said I have awareness of whatever loopholes that might occur. Sure I can analyze stuffs but he taught me to be more structured and have singular direction rather than hopping from one ideas to another. He helped me narrow down to the most feasible and work on one task at a time, get me back on track when I get distracted or if my perfectionism strikes in and it takes too much time off the project. A stickler of plans and a realist so I know he gets upset when sometimes I fail to deliver what's on the project plan but doesn't dwell on what should have been rather advises to move on and make adjustments to still achieve what needs to be accomplished. He likes my optimism though, and the fact that I can joke around even when working so most of the time, I can urge him to make a few silly remarks and share a good laugh. Then again I can hardly be coaxed in a conversation when working on something and under stress with my Si and Te kicking up and good thing he lets me work alone and ask first if I can give updates unlike some professors I had who snoops around my shoulder and watch what I'm doing. The last month I was working on that computer system he was surprised with how much I finished in little time (I swear I was so stressed I was practically an ESTJ at the time). Plus he's impressed with my documentation skills (INFP's Ne-Si at work to be sure); he said he's using/showing my work to his students now as sample reference for their projects.
    I know most INTJs are more closed off and aloof but since knowing him I learned there is far more beneath their reserved and practical nature. They're basically cinnamon rolls inside just as we INFPs are on the outside.

    I am an INFP man, and the only women in my life who have expressed interest in being in a serious relationship with me (whether it happened or not) have been INTJs. I've had flings with two INFPs, one ESFJ, and one ENFP, respectively. I had powerful chemistry with the INFPs, but they were flaky and conflicted about what they wanted. The ENFP and the ESFJ didn't even make any pretensions about being in the market for a serious relationship in the first place.
    Oh, and if you're wondering, my girlfriend/fiance of 6 years is an INTJ, because of course she would be.

      Every time I do a class representation I turn towards a wall for few seconds then turn towards the whiteboard, then slowly writing things down (probably my handwriting seemed to have social anxiety) lol. Then I start speaking & my teacher interprets my voice to the entire class that can only be heard by her & I do this with a dying heart beat every time I eye contact with a student finally when I'm done my teacher would have to hug me because I'll be shivering as if I drowned in the cold water.
      Lol I don't know if all of this is normal but I feel like I keep shaking at least for two days after that

    • @jhemp
      @jhemp Рік тому +2

      Hell of a revival, but I'm an INTJ dating an INFP and I can tell you we have our ups and downs. Communication can be hard she takes things very personally and I'm a very impersonal person, but she has done a lot to help me temper some of my bluntness, and I'd like to think I've helped her grow a little more resilient. I'm always focused on self improvement and growth of everyone around me and I don't really settle for anything less than the best I can do. This is challenging for her, but I can't help, but see how much she's grown since we started dating almost 7 years ago.
      I don't think I'll ever completely be able to handle the ease at which she shows her emotions to me. It's still both incredibly jarring and difficult for me to process. Often she seeks to vent, not solutions which took a lot of getting used to and honestly still a bit challenging.
      What I do appreciate in our relationship is how she gives me the space to do what I want and I give her the space to do what she wants.
      I'm sure from her perspective my solutions to problems can be a bit cold and clinical, but from my perspective I think she worries to much about how people will feel. I don't care about how people feel in the moment if it means that in the long run, I averted a bigger issue. I don't have much interest in social convention. What reason is there for doing anything that serves no purpose? Do the types of clothes you wear or things you own affect your ability to perform? I digress, but she's seemly hung up on the opposite, she cares way too much about what others will think which causes her a lot of anxiety, but I do my best to be there for her because I want her to have a lot of fun too.
      In essence, she serves as a whetstone to my blunt edges and I serve as a strong gust of wind to her still leaves. We both are thankful for alone time, and she paints a much more emotional picture on my logical canvas.
      We do have struggles, but without strife we can hardly grow in a meaningful way.

    Hey, ENFJ here :)
    Have you guys looked into Socionics at all? At first it can look like really dull and boring because it's basically going in-depth with functions (and explaining them slightly differently too)- and it explains how we use all 8 functions, but will prioritize ("value") them differently depending on our type. I'd like to hear you talk about that stuff, but I'd understand if you cba getting into it, haha! :D
    Just bear in mind that the p/j letter is changed for introverts, because in socionics they refer to your *first* function, and not just your first *extraverted* function. :)

    INTJs are my ideal partner conceptually. Itll have to stay conceptually though because men dont see me as wife material and I dont think I could bring myself to open my heart to another person again after how badly I got hurt. I guess its my own fault. I put all my eggs in one basket and the person I gave them to was the wrong person. Now Im mind-boggled at how stupid I can be and cant trust myself, much less another person. but its also because Im the sort of person that only feels happy in a relationship if I am putting it all on the line. And I did, and I lost. So I just have to accept my reality is one where I will die an old maid.

      Im so sorry for what you've endured but know that its not your fault the other person was a jackass. You deserve love and happiness and if trust issues are the only thing keeping you from looking for love again then id say its not worth losing another try. Have you tried therapy? Getting mental closure and not blaming yourself are a big part of it, although now you've learnt a lesson and are cautious. I totally get where youre coming from, cuz im the same type of person when i go in, i go all in, although ive never dated, but it has happened with friendships and it was very painful for me too, but through it, ive learnt to find better friends. I wish you all the best👍

      There’s an intj in your area right now, about your age that is looking for his sweet, precious infp. Go find each other.

    I've had an abusive asshole boss I suspect was INTJ, so that sours my views on them a bit. He is the first person I think was an INTJ, though, so I know good ones are out there :)

      Why do you think he was INTJ?

  • @joshgee3329

    I test for INFP and INTJ depending on the test. I found one test that narrowed it down between the two--which i had a lot of trouble compeleting due to identifying with both options in most questions--and was found to be "51% INFP, 49% INTJ"...
    Is it possible to identify with both, despite how much they can contrast?

    I love isfp. infp seem way aloof to like them. They need a lot of push to do something and I don’t have that much patience.

    Can I be honest
    Okay so my INTJ isn't "cold" he's very much bubbly and silly but I don't know if maybe he wears that as a persona because it's the most efficient way to move through social situations or if that's just how he is.
    I admit he can be "intense" and definitely harsh at times though

    Which cognitive function needs to rewatch like a video again to better "catch" and understand the real meaning.

      INTJ: I would say that could be any introverted function, since they just need time to process the external stimuli into their more subjective and refined structure

    My son-in-law makes me feel so masculine around him because he behaves cute and fluffy and smiley...like a fragile girl. I am an INTJ and I think it’s better for me to stay as far as possible. He also doesn’t have any notion of logic. I really feel I have nothing to exchange with fluffy people...lol. Very annoying. I can’t take them seriously. Ok! I know....Am I bad? Lol

      We're not just fluffy. INFPs actually have the next highest average IQ after INTJs. As that's an average, I can't conclude on your specific son in law. Being a "silly" person though certainly doesn't equate to a lack of intelligence, that's overly simplistic. xNFPs can come off really silly, but it's generally due to creativity and high Ne. Actually, INTPs are known to be kind of silly too, though in a different way
