      Yes and nearly twice the size of the next largest (Canada). I think he means that the 2D map we're all most accustomed to unnaturally inflates the countries in the Northern Hemisphere. Just not to the degree he expects.

      It's still called the Greenwich Meridian and GMT.
      (The UK does have daylight savings time, though, so "BST" - British Standard Time - is used to denote GMT + daylight savings adjustment. But GMT itself doesn't change, as that's the reference point for all time zones.)

      Relating to this same question, the ancient Greeks made, what could be considered, a computer. The Antikythera Mechanism automatically tracked the movements of celestial bodies in our solar system and could even predict eclipses. It was lost when it was being transported and the ship it was on sunk.
      I think the question should read; "Which of these inventions was patented the earliest?"

    The ancient Egyptians did effectively create a battery, however they didn't use it as a battery and used the technology to electroplate instead. They didn't understand that they could have harnessed the electrons released in the chemical reaction as a form of energy, so it's debatable to say whether they actually invented the battery since it was never used as such.
