Eight months after Camila Cabello, 20, left Fifth Harmony, her four ex-band mates -Dinah Jane, 20, Normani Kordei, 21, Ally Brooke, 24, and Lauren Jauregui, 21 - and a fifth woman stood on stage at The Forum in California for the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. Right before the Aug. 27 performance began, the unknown woman went flying off the elevated platform as if she was hit by a truck. Only four remained. This stunt left many viewers absolutely stunned, including Camila herself! “It definitely hurt my feelings,” told The New York Times, as her “eyes welled up as she recalled” watching her former friends trash her like that.

Ig that's cause 1D as a group was so supportive of one another and didn't throw shade and even when one person outshined another, they always supported them. Camilla Cabello has outshined fifth harmony since day 1. Not only does the group know, but EVERYONE knows. Since their first performance even demi Lovato said that Camilla stood out. And the girls didn't like it. I'm not saying it's usually the girls that feel jealous and the guys don't. I'm a woman myself. It's just that these women didn't like Camilla cause she's TALENTED. 1D was damn supportive even though they had a little fight after Zayn left. But we all know for a fact, 1D genuinely love each other. Normani spoke about how racist Camilla was and this incident happened almost 10 years ago. Absolutely - even if the split is the reason she's getting all the attention, she most certainly deserves it. She's quite a talented singer, and it takes guts to take strong decisions like Camila did. I haven't heard much from Fifth Harmony since she departed, and the only song I liked post Camila was Por Favor. Other than that, none of the other girls have lead singer qualities or what it takes to be centerstage. Camila sure does!

I understand why Camila chose to leave. She wanted to write in the group but they didn’t allow her, and after she left the girls asked to write on the album and they eventually did.
And it’s totally fine.. Cause it’s ok if the group wasn’t her “destination”.
But what bothers me is the drama. Why does everyone make a big deal out of nothing? Right, 5h had to work harder to succeed after she left, but it’s not her fault. If their management is shit, they need to work on that, not on putting Camila down.
They didn’t deny her, management did. All the girls had been fighting to be allowed to write on the album but had all previously been denied. Only reason they were allowed to from this album on is because is because the girls had to bring a lawyer in to fight for their creative freedom through the contract process. I think the whole story got twisted and it’s just been a huge mess for awhile now

But this is exactly my point - it’s not Camila’s fault, so all of this drama is unnecessary.

However, there is something I found interesting after reading this interview with Camila.. I’m starting to believe that they actually gave her an ultimatum and essentially kicked her out of the group, because of their vma performance. They said that it represented their story.. well, why was “Camila” falling from the stage, as if someone pushed her, instead of falling freely like the girls did at the end of Angel? Why was she “kicked” off stage if it was her decision to leave?
The person in the middle wasn't a fake person, it was an actual person. And she jumped, if you look again. But that is beside the point. They said they wanted to express in an artistic way, that they were still Fifth Harmony. The fact that they all fell back is more or less the same thing, only they did so in unison, but could be a foreshadowing of a sort. If I knew what was on their contracts, it could clear all of this up. But I agree, the fanbase of either can get pretty mean...even in this whole thread...people are doing their comparing and such, but whatev...enjoy the music or not, but in the end, be kind. Peace.

I support both 5H and Camila. Also, you'll notice that her solo music sounds nothing like it did when she was in 5H, and this also was something she and her team had to consider. It was the companies fault. Some girls wouldn't even get lines in some songs while Camila would always get the majority for all of the songs. She would always get offered solo projects and singles but everytime the other members tried, they would get a no all the time. Camila's rasict past made all the girls uncomfortable and she was the most popular out of the girls. The company would constantly make sure Camila stood out in front of the girls and ruined their friendship they had when they were younger.
Camila is the only one people wanted to see ..so we can't blame the label ..they care for money and Camila is the one that works best in that scenario . Instead of being jealous if they showed a bigger heart and support then maybe they would also get ppls support

Without money fifth harmony wouldn't be anymore. When Camila left the girls were allowed to cowrite some songs but they weren't of the label's standard. The girls were happy but happiness isn't going to make money and that's why fifth harmony is no more. Take for example in Work from Home Camila's only had the beginning verse and then the only other part was her adding her adlibs to the song to sweeten it. She didn't get as many lines as you like to put it atleast not surpasing Ally and Lauren

Back when she was still with 5h and on a tour in LA, they would usually stay at the hotel I used to work at. I met her a number of times along with her mom, and she is such a sweet heart. Every morning I'd see her walking in the hallways while singing, she was always singing, it was so cute! She's very friendly and always say hi. She and her mom we're like ordinary ppl irl. From someone who worked in housekeeping department of the hotel, they treated us with kindness. I remember one time they came so late from their tour like around 2am, looking all tired and exhausted. Their key for the room wont work. So they sat on the hallway floor next to their room as they eat their in n out, while waiting for her mom to get another key at the front desk. Since I knew them, I offered to open the door for them so they wont have to wait. They were so thankful. Really nice people. It seemed like she got along with 5h actually, I remember she used to share a room with that tall lady along with her mom, and everything seems ok, so it was a shock when I heard the news that she left the group.
