Persian got influenced by indian dances. Indians have these hastas and mudras written in Natya Shashtra(drama/dances scriptures) which are ancient. Also the old Persian language is derived from sanskrit language. Hormuzgani still sounds like sanskrit even if iranian little bit changed.

Thanx. The choreography is 100% mine - I never perform solos with someone else's choreographies. However, Helene uses music from the same album (unfortunately there is not much qajari music available). I'm currently learning from her in Anar Dana Berlin project, but our programme doesn't include Qajari dance.
Your form and movements in this is so accurate and close to perfect form. You could literally take a photo of you during this dance and it would look like one of those old Persian miniature paintings. How did you research these forms and movement?

I see some similarities between this and Indian classical (Kathak) dance haha. Well, it makes sense since we had a lot of Persian influence. But the Indian kathak dance is originated in iIndia but there are some similarities with the Persian classical.

India has never seen real Persian dance on its land except in small dance festivals. Kathak's 'Persian influence' isn't actual Persian influence, it was just a change of its motivation from a 'dance for Hindu Gods' to a 'dance for Muslim rulers', so its movements became more feminine and 'sensual', that's it.

So it's not that wild to have Indian kathak influence in it because if Persianate rulers ruled India for so long, they didn't just give us their influence, they took back some of our influence also, nothing wrong in it.

It is similar to Azerbaijani dance and dress because Azerbaijani Qajars copied their dances and dresses from Iranians. This dance is pure Persian and dress is also Iranian. If you have doubt check Iranian old miniature paintings. You can search it online and see Iranians dressed like this for hundreds of years. The only thing different in Azerbaijani dance is Lezgin dance which is purely from Caucasus and not Iranian.

This is Persian dance and was brought from Iran/Persia to India. India received alot of Persian influence during the Mughal reign which was a Persianate dynasty.

peacock is a symbolic bird/ animal in central asia/ persian cultures. its even a deity figure for a group of pagan kurds called yazidis
