Good experience for the tool bag. If that had happened farther out you may have been screwed. I recommend reviewing self rescue procedures occasionally. It has happened to me. A self rescue in very light winds can be as daunting as trying to ride in very light winds. I also think a good technique is to have an extra, longer kite leash on your harness you can attach to your board if you get in the situation where you need to either self rescue or work with your kite for an extended period to keep board from disappearing.

what damien leroys video on light wind kiting. not just downloop waterstart, but when you see the kite start to backstall you can save it fairly easily by just initiating a downloop , the kite picks up speed and comes back up to 12 again.
Down looping key to keeping LEI kite airborne in light wind..... also check out ram air foil kites for ez flying in light wind..... also when this light a foil board would be the tool to use from the toolbox...
next time in this wind condition: Do a Downloop Waterstart... Best regard
