    So if I’m understanding correctly you don’t need your DNP if you don’t plan on teaching? And having your DNP wont get you a higher salary than MSN? ...I don’t want to teach. I just want to earn the most competitive income I can without burning out

    Did you go to a full time MSN program and work as a RN? Did you work full time or part time?

    Can you open your own practice with a MSN?

    Great video! I’ve seen some schools that allow students to get their MSN/ DNP at the same time. After getting the MSN they let you sit for NP boards. What are your thoughts on those types of programs?

      I would have totally gone there if I found that place. If more places encouraged that, we can make a push for people getting their DNPs and make it standard for all NPs

      This is the type of program I'm currently researching it's a BSN to DNP. I'm trying to get it done. I've taken the scenic route with my career 😅

    For me I decided to do my MSN first. After 3 years of working full time as an FNP, I decided to go back to school to get my DNP. Honestly, im doing this as a personal goal and be a better prepared professional.

      Yes, technically you can at some schools, but I always advise to get experience as a RN first

    Why do you have to wait a year after getting your DNP to take your boards/ get your license?

    • @LifeofaPsychNP
      @LifeofaPsychNP  4 роки тому +1

      if you go from bsn to dnp its 3-4 years compared to 2-2.5 years when getting your bsn to msn. So if you get your dnp, youll be in school a year to a year and a half longer to take boards compared to msn. most programs dont let you take your boards before graduating when doing a bsn to dnp

    What new job/raise are you obtaining after graduating with your DNP?

    • @LifeofaPsychNP
      @LifeofaPsychNP  4 роки тому +1

      I'm getting a slight raise at my current job and sometimes based on your DNp, some insurance companies give you a bump up on reimbursement. It's minimal but better than nothing lol
