Lost my Mom in May after a long & torturous hospital stay which began in late January, early February of this year. Work and family have been my strengths. The grieving is, more often than not, outweighed by the sheer amount of joy and love my Mom and I shared over my lifetime. She was disabled and lived with me and my family for the past 10 years. She is so missed by us all, we have yet to address her bedroom or art studio, the memories and energies are still so strong there. I miss her so much. So much.
Now, leveling-up, the work for me is changing and I am changing with it. Both internally and externally. I feel more conscious than I ever have in my life. This is changing how I see things, react to them, value them, carry them with me - or not. I just became the living mask of my Mothers bloodline and my daughter is watching me. I wonder constantly what it is she is witnessing.
Through death, my Mom willed to me her business and property, which had been purchased by and later given to her by her Mother upon her death in 2007. I suddenly find myself not only at the head of my maternal line, but also in charge of 4 cabins and my grandparents home, both of which are on a lake that is basically 400 miles from my home.
But am I worried? Well yea and no…sure I’m worried. Im worried I won’t know what to do but also somehow, I trusting I WILL know, when the time comes. I know I have “guardian angels” and the new addition of Mom to those ranks has definitely upped the ante in almost every venture I take on.
Life is a gift that I am now totally in love with and grateful for. Feeling this way while riding with grief has been somehow balancing in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. I also have some love coming my way and I am open to it
. it’s becoming so clear we have so little time and so very much to give. So, shedding things that no longer fit this bill just plain makes sense and the melancholy I feared would accompany the letting go has actually been replaced with gratitude and the lightness of hope.
