After unleashed and right before reflex. It was like a transition game. There was the specific whip button in untamed unlike unleashed but then reflex finally added the additional joystick to provide unparalleled levels of control aka just ungodly upside down whips. But untamed was awesome on all consoles I finally beat it on my PSP almost 15 years later it took me that long!
@@hunterdempster5675 It could be done anyway, reflex has the best whips in my opinion. Alive is a good game but it lacks a lot of content. It is a micropayment game
I liked the desert free ride in reflex the most. I used to spend hours on the hill climb in spawn. I also used to create my own tracks for me and my brother to race
Untamed really did have the best tracks. The fact that you could freeride and hit the motocross track and then just ride over to the freestyle track all while having fun little things to hit in between. I forgot the name of the track but the nighttime map has a hidden freestyle track that I’m surprised you didn’t touch on! I agree that the reflex maps were kind of meh BUT the desert map had some of the best and most fun natural hits and lines I’ve seen in any MVA game
What you really missed here was the extra DLC free ride track in alive with the YZ250. That one was the best free ride in the game imo, severely underrated and forgotten about, the most IRL feeling free ride I think we’ve actually gotten where it felt like an actual part of the videos you see on insta from all the big free ride guys
The Axle Hodges Slayground might just be one of the most amazing places to ride that I have ever seen! This really makes me want to get back out on a real bike and go riding...
I'm really happy you put Untamed in total at no. 1, truly the best tracks in the series. Really wish they'd remaster the freeride areas for the next Legends dlc. They all have multiple tracks on them so it'd be a no brainer
Untamed has the best free ride tracks in the series by FAR. None of the other games even come close Untamed, such a legendary game. Words can’t describe how happy I would be if they remastered Untamed or if they put as much effort into the free ride tracks now as they did back then
Those are some good picks, but I have mine! 5: One of the Tropical coconut free ride map I forgot what it’s called from all out 4: Reyes AZ from Reflex 3: Kewii falls from Mx Vs Atv unleashed 2-1 are very close but 2: almost every Untamed free ride maps 1: you can’t go wrong with Kodiak valley map Mx vs Atv legends!!!
I never realized this but when you get to the island on devils playground if you follow that same way you went through the rocks but go up to the right instead it’s a whole little track that sends you off a jump at the end heading back the way you came so you can hydroplane back off the island it’s so sick
I'd personally take Kodiak Valley over Slaygrounds. Feel like they nailed the overall vibe of dirt biking in the Colorado mountains, plus Big Horn is an awesome track. Hope they continue to add more free ride tracks in Legends and update them with features like they had in Untamed (which is the best free ride game for sure).
Great video... Can you do a video on the games of untamed? the snake game that was like tron and tag were so much fun... I would love to see mini games in the new game...
I feel that the js7 compound doesn’t quite fit in this category. Of course it was a great map to free ride but in terms of a true free ride map I think open world where you make you’re own jumps/lines.

I'm completely dumbfounded as to why there can't be a much more user-friendly map, and possibly waypoints as well, for these freeride areas. Why are the devs so against helping us navigate in freeride?! And also...the ability for the character to look around while riding is extremely generic. I know I sound like a 'negative Nancy', but outside those two points, I absolutely love the MX vs ATV series!!
Best free ride worlds really brings me back to the days of ATV offroad fury 2! That game was insane!

My favorite map was the carnival on Mx vs atv unleashed
Flying Moto Ranch was awesome. Especially after they re did the SX and Moto track
I missed the trails type side missions you could do in unleashed
Honorable mention: Montauk Plains, and Temple of Apophis.

The JS7C from encore is my favorite map of all time I lived on that map. I easily had more than 20 hours on that, I hope they bring it to Legends

Mx Superfly had some pretty decent free ride maps. You could unlock unique characters like Sal the Alien by riding into certain hidden areas

I wish alive was compatible on pc. That game was my whole childhood, thousands of hours on it
RPCS3 has it playable. I've never tried it so I don't know if there's any bugs, but worth giving a go if you want to play it again.
